Queen BeeThis is the only nail salon I've been to in Davis so I can't compare the service here to other salons. However, my experience have been good overall. They definitely take walk-ins appointment, but this business can get really packed on Friday and the weekends. If you decide to walk in during the afternoon to evening on those busy days, you may have to wait longer than 30 minutes until you can be seated. The place itself is huge and well lit. At first, you will only see manicure table workstations, but if you are requesting a pedicure, they have another room in the back with at least 8 pedicure chairs. The color selection is extensive for both regular and gel nail colors. The nail technician I always see is Lisa. She listens to my concerns and always makes sure that I'm satisfied with the shape of my gel nails. With her, I'm comfortable with voicing any issues I have with my nails. I have also got a pedicure here, serviced by the same person, and left with my feet feeling butt soft. My friends have also raved about this nail salon when I mentioned it to them. I came in a couple of weeks ago to get one of my acrylic nails fixed as I had broken it. I had gotten my nails done at a different salon back home 2 hours away. When I came in I was seated right away and they began fixing my nail. The nail tech was unable to match my exact nail design (I had a French ombré) after a couple of tries. I told her it was fine and asked her how much it was. The tech said since she was unable to match it, she will not charge me. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. Should you go? Yes. Their $35 mani / pedi is the best deal in town. (Just note a $1 credit card fee.)This standard clean and friendly salon isn't super luxury, but the staff are incredibly professional, quick, and do a great job massaging, painting, and shaping. My first time coming here and the guy rips off my cuticle on my toe nail. It started to bleed a lot and he didn't apologize at all and just kept spraying rubbing alcohol on it. I told him it burned and not to spray it anymore but then he put lime on it. Yep literally rubbed a lime into it which made it burn like hell. When I told him it hurt and that it was bleeding and that I should not have to pay full price he said no and that it should be okay. Not once did he say sorry. Not coming back. Read Less

I got a pedicure and a full acrylic set on my hands. The pedicure was great, and even though I didn't get gel, the polish has lasted over two weeks.There were a few things I didn't like about the acrylics though. First thing was actually my fault - I haven't gotten acrylics in about 8 years, so I was unsure about the length. I was hesitant when she was shaping them and asked her to make them shorter. She barely clipped a little more off and then asked if it was okay. I felt like I was being a hassle asking them to be shortened more and more. She told me that I need to decide now because it's harder/she didn't want to have to fix the length later. In the end, they were definitely too long for me and I ended up having to clip and file them about a week later at home.Second thing, when my tips got glued on, the middle nail on my right hand didn't fit correct. The guy saw that it had popped up and separated before he was done gluing. Instead of finding a better fit, or fixing the glue, he just pushed/held it together while the glue finished drying. Within two days of leaving, that nail had separated and there was space between that mentally drove me crazy.I'll group the last two things together. While filing my nails, before applying the acrylic, the woman used the electric file to clip away my cuticles. I don't know if this is standard (like I said, I haven't gotten them done in 8 years), but three of my cuticles were bleeding and it hurt. Last, she spent a good time making the shape on my right hand, but when she got to my left, she sped through and they were leaning. I asked for a smooth, round shape. My left hand was round on one side of each nail and coffin shaped on the other side. And she was going to leave it. I had to ask her to fix it.4 stars for the pedicure2 stars for the full set. I would give 0 stars if I could. The amount of disappointment and anger I feel having gone here is ridiculous. I want to emphasis that I'm not someone who tries to stir up drama. I only ask that my nails that I'm paying for with my hard earned cash be worth it. I showed my technician a picture of how I always get my nails done, a simple coffin/ballet shape with a gel color. Nothing too fancy, nothing new. My pinkies were shaped nicely but when she moved onto my index finger she didn't ask for any input on whether I liked the shape or not and kept filing furiously. When she was done I realized they were super crooked and I asked her to fix them but she continued to file them more instead of applying acrylic to fix them... I've been getting my nails done for years in both SF and in Sacramento. It's usually an average of $30-35 depending on the place for a full set of acrylics with gel. I was getting a fill. That's usually $15-17 dollars for a gel fill, $20 max. I never ask the prices after all these years because I've never been SCAMMED like I have been here. She charged me $31 for a FILL. Are you kidding me? Honey you didn't even do close to a good job.I think she purposely filed underneath my nails to make them snap off too... I couldn't even believe it, I was so confused when she took the electric filer underneath my nails and I saw her making lines underneath. I realized what they were for when my pinky finger, my least used finger of all time snapped off randomly when I was drinking coffee. I wasn't even smacking my hand around in my purse. My eyes could not roll any harder. Mind you my nails are fully grown underneath the acrylics so there's plenty of support under. The cherry on top of the experience was having my debit card information stolen. I hadn't used the specific card I used to pay for my nails here in about a month but what do you know? Literally one day after I pay for my nails here, I'm charged by some sketchy telemundo place for $187. Don't come this place, please. Just. Swerve. Read Less

I really wanted to get my nails done before heading home for the holidays. Read a lot of good reviews so I decided to give this place a try. First of all, let me just say that as someone who didn't even schedule an appointment, I was helped right away. Melissa was the one who did my nails and I absolutely love the way they came out! Not only did she take her time, but she made sure the shaping was perfect. This is the first nail salon I've gone to (and I've tried many) that I actually liked the end results. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. I mean... I even took the time to make a yelp account to leave a review, so that says a lot from my end. Been to a couple of nail places in Davis, but this one is by far the best one. Got a full set and shaped, for only $25. Usually places throw on that "extra $5 for shaping," but Lisa didn't. She worked diligently and my nails came out great! She would always ask how I liked them and if I wanted to change the shape or anything. Only problem was she kept going over my skin with her drill and it hurt, but she would apologize. Got a pedicure for $25 too! It came with a scrub and hot stone massage, too! I got a little cold when sitting in the chair, and Lisa, who wasn't even doing my nails anymore noticed and turned on the heater for me. Downside, my pedicurist cut my cuticle a little too deep, but only sprayed it with alcohol and continued cutting. I have never even made it to a full 2 weeks with my nails. It never fails, they always break.  my first time going to this salon, my nails lasted 19 days! I couldn't believe it.  I got acrylic and gel polish. They didn't look the best grown out, but they lasted! my daughter even got a mani with regular polish and it lasted with no chipping for a week (which is really long for a 6 year old). The only reason I docked off one star was because they're not very hospitable.  They're nice, but it's awkward sitting in silence 2 hours. Read Less

My roommate and I came here based on yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. We walked in and were seated immediately. Although there wasn't a lot of people, we were  there for almost 3 hours lol. There were three people working on our nails simultaneously because people would walk in and they would get immediately seated as well. This is why I docked them down a star. I'm going to try to book an appointment and see if that makes any difference.Besides that, I LOVED my nails. I got a full set of acrylic nails with regular polish for $25. They paid close attention to my nails and made sure they were the right shape/even polish.I will be coming back with an appointment and probably to get a pedi too. :) their pedi chairs are in a separate room in the salon which I thought was cool and probably relaxing! It has been a painful and anxiety filled last 4 days having lost my father, so my mother, aunt and I went and got some royal treatment at Queen Bee Nails Spa today. It was a much needed time of relaxation. The ladies that helped us were fantastic and wonderfully friendly people. They'll definitely see me again the next time I am in town. I'm not a fan of Davis nail salons but this place made me so happy I wanted to hug the lady doing my nails LOL She was extremely attentive to details and small things even I wouldn't notice and made sure my nails were all exactly the same shape and that's hard to do since I have some bunk ass nails. After hearing my friend raving about this nail spot in Davis, as an acrylic/pedicure maniac, I made my appointment the next day. I called in for an appointment, and was told I could come in that same morning. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly ladies who also offered us water. The place seems clean and spacious; they have an entire back room for pedicures.I went in for a full-set regular acrylic while my friend got the gel acrylic. I was really impressed with the detail and time put into my service. Lisa, the person who did my nails did an amazing job. She created the perfect shape (coffin nails) from the picture I'd shown her. She was very friendly, and tended to your needs. My acrylics came out perfect, it was not too thick as some nail shops in Davis would do, which is best in my opinion. I also scratched the paint twice before it filling drying and she happily helped fixed it before I walked out.The only down side for my experience was that she had drilled out too much of my skin around the nail bed, and it was a little painful too. But other than that, this is THE spot for nail shop in Davis (I think most are mediocre in comparison).My friend was worked on by Sandy, and she too had a good experience. I literally HATE every nail shop in Davis but Queen Bee completely exceeds my expectations! I came near closing time, they were still pretty busy but gladly did my nails anyway. The shop is huge! There are two main rooms, one for pedicures and one for manicures. I came in for a fill and reshape with regular nail polish that I brought in myself. The quality of their work is amazing, my nail shape and polish turned out flawless. And the best part, they had the cheapest prices out of all the nail shops I've been to in Davis! If I ever need my nails done in Davis I'm heading straight to Queen Bee. Read Less

I called to seewhen they closed on sunday and it turned out it was just closing time,  Lisa told me she could see me anyways and she wi uld wait for me to get there, so nice!
