I used to be a regular at the Nail Lounge - like clockwork, every 4-5 weeks for a year straight, I'd get a gel manicure. I wasn't even living in OC yet when this started - I'd come down from San Francisco JUST to enjoy the wonderful nail artists here. Then, this past April, I got a severe nail infection in three different nails after a manicure from a newer nail tech. The Nail Lounge was kind enough to remove my gel manicure for free and give me an ointment for my infection, and they offered a free manicure to compensate me for my loss. This was a great offer, but unfortunately, my infection was severe enough that it took months (seriously, 4 months) for my nails to heal 100%.But my nails did heal! I returned to the Nail Lounge for my free manicure, which ended up being not-so-free: they charged me for gel/french tip, stating that it was only a standard, plain manicure that they promised me. I was understandably upset, since I thought the purpose of the free manicure was to compensate me for the full gel, french-tip manicure I had paid for previously and had to have removed within 5 days. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and because the person left in charge that day was newer to management, there was apparently "nothing" that could be done.* This, despite the fact that I was a loyal customer for over a year at that point, despite my having spent almost $800 at the Nail Lounge in that time (gel manicure with designs + a hefty tip certainly adds up).(* When I later called to give feedback about this, it was then apparent that the amount I was charged was totally arbitrary. The store manager explained that they charged me for gel/french tip, but when I asked that she break down the pricing, it didn't total out to what the gel/french tip would be. Very strange, indeed.) Also, the Nail Lounge has clearly run out of some details that I really like: their glitter selection is half of what it used to be, and the decal stickers are similarly depleted. It seems like they've stopped restocking in the months I was absent. So, of course, I am disappointed in my previously favorite nail salon in Orange County. I account for this due to the fact that the Nail Lounge has been purchased by new owners. Since then, most of the star nail technicians are rarely around, working instead at another shop owned by the new owner. This means that I can't really get the nail art I want from the nail techs now, and the folks left in charge are newer to management/seemingly less experienced, which I believe is how the above situation happened. This may also be why they're not restocking some of the more fun add-ons they used to have in high quantities. Read Less
