Wasn't happy at all with the service! Yea you can be nice to someone until you get there money but that's all it ever is. Went here because the other place on the block had a 30 min wait. . I should have waited! The girl was nice at first! Even let me pay before she painted my nails. At least that way I didn't have to mess them up reaching for my wallet. Very considerate of her! Guess a $5 dollar tip wasn't good enough for a 18 buck bill cause I figured I'd hand that over while I was paying. That's when everything went down hill! I have been to so many nail salons around San Diego and Coronado Beauty Lounge is by far my favorite!! Everyone is so nice and welcoming, the atmosphere is super relaxing, everything is really clean and cozy!! Every service I've ever had here has been amazing, but I'd definitely recommend Tiffany for the best, longest lasting gel manicure you'll ever have! She's super nice and will test out color combos or glitter or whatever before you have to make the commitment to a color! (Always a challenge for me haha.....) My gel manicures from her easily last like 3 weeks without chipping...Also super reasonable prices!! Made a wax apointment the day before I went. I got there early and you could see the ladies was caught off guard when I told them I have an appointment. In fact the lady I spoke to the day prior was there. They made me wait for a while till another lady walked in saying she has the same appointment with the same lady for the same time. So I realised they double booked us. But then one of the ladies walked over to me saying the one I had an appointment with is sick today. I asked her since its noon, don't they call client's to reschedule when things like this happen and she said no not really. Incredible service! This was the greatest manicure/pedicure experience that I have ever had. The chair was very comfortable. One girl did my hands well another girl did my feet. At one point it got fairly busy but I felt like I was the only one there. I was offered mimosa’s among other beverages. The price is amazing. I paid average price for superior service. Read Less

I've heard that when you come in here the service is supposed to be nice, you are greeted and offered snacks so I was really excited to see all the cute perks that came with this place. I called in advance to know how much to expect to pay. I get there and basically ignored, not offered even the nail colors to look at. When i was helped the lady at the front was trying to make me pay before i get my nails done (never happened to me before, and by her attitude I'm guessing she didn't think i would have the money to pay afterwards). She tried charging me a price higher than the person on the phone did for the exact same service, and when i simply brought it to her attention she handed me back my card and was basically like "oh well we can't help you" until i said it was fine and I'd just pay the difference. I'm not going to lie, i looked super ragged that day but i wasn't expecting the service to be a reflection of  what i looked like. When people go to get their nails done they want to be pampered and feel beautiful and good about themselves. The fact that they do good nails shouldn't overshadow that their ethics are wrong. I just moved to Coronado, I was trying to find a new salon for my nails. This place was nice, it wasn't overcrowded, no long wait, friendly staff. Yesterday was my first time going here, but now I'm going to be a regular customer because I love this nail salon! Everyone is very friendly, the inside is pretty and they had all new pedicure chairs. They offer complimentary wine, mimosas, and water. I had a full set of acrylics and a gel polish done. I was really impressed with how many gel color options they had!! (See below in the picture) Whenever I was seated at one of the nail stations, I was given a pillow for my back which was so comfy! Quite possibly the best pedicure I've ever had. I upgraded to the middle level of pampering and paid $15 additional for gel. They've got an excellent selection of gel colors to choose from and lots of OPI and essie which i like for being formaldehyde free. Kimmy was my tech and she did a beautiful job. Beautiful shaping, perfect paint job, and an hour of scrub, moisture, and massage for my feet and legs. That was six weeks ago and my polish is just now starting to chip. I've been going to (Hillcrest) Beauty Lounge for years. Decided to come to Coronado Beauty Lounge on a whim and was extremely satisfied with my service. My pedicure was done by Kim and gel manicure done by Kimberly. As soon as I left, I received compliments on my "cat eye" nails. I decided to give this place a try.  I had meter parking, I put the max in which is 2 hours.  I requested to have my old set of nails removed a new set put on and a pedicure.  My pedicure was great.  As for the nail removal it hurt like hell.  I've had my nails removed before and it didn't hurt like this.  Next the gal put the tips on, she put acrylic on one hand then started to do something else.  Well she put the powder and liquid away.  Then realized she wasn't done.  Using the electric file she tore up my cuticles. Sores around the nail.  When she was polishing she kept dipping her brush in nail polish remover to "clean" up around the cuticle.  The stuff burned like crazy due to the tore up cuticle.  I let her know it burned but she did it a few times.  I kept watching the time, praying I wouldn't have a ticket.  I got to my car with 4 mins to spare.  I have never spent that much time in a chair getting this exact service done elsewhere.  The next day my cuticles and nails hurt.  Today I noticed on one of the cuticles that got tore up is red and extremely tender to the touch.  I've been soaking it and keeping it clean.  I paid $45 for nail removal and a new set, I would think being in such a rich area the service would be a lot better.  I won't be going back that's for sure.  Oh one last thing, ladies came in after me and were asked if they wanted something to drink.  I was never once offered anything. I have never had a more disappointing nail experience in my life. We walked into Coronado beauty lounge at 3pm without an appointment and asked if they had availability for three mani pedis. They quickly accepted us and set us up saying that they had an incredibly slow morning and were happy to have us! Great start! First strike- they did not have the nail colors requested by two of three of our party and chose colors that were not similar but after their frantic display trying to search we let them paint the color they found. Disappointing. But Not a big deal. Then- my two friends pedicures were done and the woman working on mine left before putting a clear coat to take two appointments in the back without saying a word to me and never came back.... assuming she would come back after setting the other guests up I continued to wait while my friends manicures were started. 20 minutes later I reminded them that I did indeed want my nails done as well as I thought they had forgotten. They assured they would get to me and proceeded to accept two more clients who walked in. Granted those two clients did have appointments - but then do NOT accept us so willingly if you know you do not have the time. I continued to wait for another 20 minutes while both friends manicures were being completed and the woman who had originally helped us (seems to be in charge, her name is Tiffany) continued to thank every customer who called in making an appointment or walked in with an appointment thanked them profusely for making an appointment because they were SO busy.... I was not once checked in on or asked to be made more comfortable or given an update in the hour and 15 that I was sitting in the same chair.If you want a sub-par 20-30 minute pedicure with no top coat, zero expectations set and zero customer service. Go to this store. If not- there's another nail salon two blocks down. I'll be going there next. Cherry on top? As we were checking out two more clients came in and were told the salon was closing. Tried this place out for a manicure and deluxe pedicure based on the positive reviews on Yelp. Total disappointment and expensive. Love being charged an extra $10 for "buffing"-but why no credit for the fact that I'm not getting polished? $62 (without tip)! The pedicure seemed rushed and I didn't feel like the exfoliation was very good-I almost just grabbed the scrub from her and did it myself. Today I meet 3 clients that come to see them for more than 16 years and they love. There are many spas, but there are few where you are important and where you are not just one more customer. Thats how I feel here. And if Im not so happy with something I just explain to her and she make everything possible. So good that I meet you both. So proud of this second location!!! By the way, Coronado was missing something like Beauty Lounge. I do my gel manicure with sweet Kimmie a perfectionist that patiently removes all my delicate cuticles. She is an artist. my mom and I saw all the great reviews on yelp about their gel manicures. I live in New York and get them all the time, this was my moms first time. We went in, got a color, only to have both of our manicures completely chipped 4 days later and our nails completely ruined. When I came back to the shop to just get it taken off, I originally was told I could choose between a free manicure or pedicure as an apology but when they time came around they said I would only get 20%. Working in the service industry, I would have given a free treatment or given me my money back. A bad experience and now I have to wait until my nail bends aren't as thin as paper. I went here for Mother's Day with my daughter. We walked in and they greeted us with complimentary mimosas and flowers for mothers. The chairs are amazing when getting a pedicure. Charger for your phone, a ton of massage options, a hook for your bag, and a nice glass bowl for your feet. My pedicure itself was the deluxe. It was definitely worth the money. Kimberly and Nikki did a great job with painting my feet and hands at the same time. Both were friendly and personable. Also noticed they use disposable plastic linings in their water basins to soak feet. As for the finished product, I couldn't be any happier.  Parking on Orange Ave can be a bit time consuming depending on the time of day. I came in for the first time on 1/4/17 with my mom, and I loved it. It is so cute inside, and i cant say enough about how friendly and welcoming the staff is. They offer you mimosa's, wine, or tea which i thought was such a cute perk. I ended up getting a Gel Manicure by Nicki and she did such an amazing job. She took extra care of my cuticles, and recommended what shape was best for growing out my brittle post acrylic nails. She even suggested a different color polish that i had chosen, and its official. I'm letting her choose it from now on! My mom had a mani pedi by Anna and Lucas. She was so relaxed and it made me so happy to see this way. Plus its down the block from our house. I just want to say that I have been to a lot of shops out here in San Diego, but none of them have ever been up to my standard. I stumbled upon Beauty Lounge knowing their sister shop in Hillcrest, but I can't compare the service here to anywhere else. The women make you friends and they treat you above and beyond. I have great convos with all of them everytime. Chloe was my first manicurist, with her amazing massages and funny self. Nikki is a killer, she jokes and laughs, and keeps you on your toes. Their mimosas are unforgettable. But if you're tired, try the Vietnamese coffee the serve, and sell. Anna did my toes today and they are immaculate. The place was pretty and super clean. Tina greeted me and asked Maile to work on me. The first thing that Maile did after getting me seated was to offer me alcohol. I had a water instead, but I took this as a very good sign. They were kind and joyful, I felt welcome, and after a while they had me laughing.I recognize that making me feel welcome and the care that Maile took with the manicure and pedicure were the big deals, but I keep thinking about the massage chairs. They seemed to have gotten all top-of-the-line massage chairs, and my back felt very good afterwards. Beauty Lounge is by far the best nail salon I have ever been to! I am a regular at their Hillcrest location but one day I was driving down Orange Ave. and saw that they opened up on Coronado! It was like my prayers were answered!! I got a gel mani and spa pedi done yesterday and it was nothing but pure nail heaven bliss. They offer complimentary champagne, mimosas, coffee, and water. Yes please! Chloe and Maria both did an absolutely amazing job! Chloe was extra friendly and we were laughing the entire time I was there. I definitely recommend her! Tina is the owner who is extremely sweet and had me cracking up laughing too. What a fun place to go to get your nails done.
