If you have never gone to a nail shop in the hood, go to your usual place... I've been coming here for over 10 years! Even now that I live in Bel Air I still make the drive to get full sets/fills by Jackie and pedicure by either Vivian or Lulu. Jackie does an amazing job with shaping and design! Came here with a coworker to get a fill on my coffin shaped nails. The guy doing my fill was tony. He completely ruined my nails. And I'm not talking about the acrylic nails, I'm talking about my real nails. He filed down the sides of the nails and along with that he also tore the skin on the sides attached to my nails with the file. I came in today in a good mood left in a horrible one!!!! The service sucked! In particular the older kinda heavier set lady with the glasses! I wouldnt be surprised if she costed this place money...because they will surely not be getting my money again OR from ANYONE i know! From the moment i walked in the door the Older heavier lady made me feel uncomfortable. I came once before and loved the kinda younger lady that works there(forgot her name)i only came back because of her. But the older lady and the guy with the Cut off nails/fingers who attempted to due my nails made my whole visit suck! They had a attitude and THEIR the ones getting MY money! The guy with the cut up fingers just threw the paint on my nails and got mad when i mentioned it! The older lady was just plan nasty and rude. My nails look horrible already and i just got them done! If I could rate this place negative stars I would, but sadly Yelp doesn't have that option. I came here because I work close by and wanted to get my birthday nails fixed while on my lunch break. I had gotten them done the night before in another nail salon and they were a mess. So I called as soon as they opened and asked if i could make an appt with Jackie because I noticed some people on Yelp  raved about him on their reviews. The person on the phone said "yes come in, he'll be waiting for you at that time." I asked " are you sure because I'll be on my lunch break and only have an hour so if he's booked i understand" he reassured me he'd be available to help me . Well my lunch time comes and I walk in a few minutes before my appt and of course he was with a customer, just my luck! A few of the people that work there asked me what I needed and told me to sit down, I told them that I called in the morning and spoke to a male who by the way didn't want to give me his name over the phone, and that I asked for an appt with Jackie to fix my nails and they all looked confused and said well he's busy but he can help you, he's good, sit down. They were referring to another male there. I told them " okay it's fine, but for future reference you guys should honor when customers call to make appts over the phone, Jackie the owner then spoke up and said that no one told him anything and that he needed to step out once he was done with the person he was assisting and gave me his number to call for future reference if I needed to make an appt, he even offered to do a design for me in the future. I was thankful for that. So the man starts working on my nails, and I explain to him that I went to get them done the night before but that the girl who did them left them extremely thin and crooked so he began to put more acrylic and fixed them. He was very quiet and tried to be very detailed while shaping  them and it took him about 50 minutes to fix the shape and buff them. I explained to him that I would no longer have time for the color because I needed to go back to work and asked if I could pay then go back after work to get them painted and he said it was fine and told me to go back to him. I told him I'd be there at 530 pm. I then paid for my nails and left him a $6 tip and told him I would be back at 530 and he said okay. Fast forward I go back at 5:30 pm and he was not even half way into doing someone's nails :/ he told me someone else could paint them and I sadly said okay. I sat after I picked my color and showed the girl the picture and asked he if they had a color closer to the one I wanted she said she would use two colors to create it. So as she's working on my nails I notice how sloppy and quick she paints them yet I let her try and finish thinking she will see that the more she applies and doesn't let them the dry the worse they'll get but nope she doesn't. The final straw is when  the brush falls on the floor and she picks it up and continues to apply the top coat. Well of course she got black stuff on top of my nails and ignored it. It was so obvious because my nails were peach! I asked her to fix it and she started speaking in her language and seemed like she was complaining to the person who originally did my nails. I kindly asked her if she was talking about me and she plain out said no. I knew she was but I wanted her to know I didn't think it was respectful of her part. I told her "well it seemed like it." She then ignored me and continued. Fast forward she starts drenching alcohol and polish over my nails so they get bumpy, she then gets annoyed when I ask her to fix them. But she "tries" anyway once I'm done I go sit somewhere else and wait for them to dry and then I notice one hand looks much lighter then the other and ask some one to please put one more coat, because I knew she was working on someone else  well she then gets upset and starts talking out loud to  other people in her language and it obviously seems like she's complaining and talking shit with two other people , It was so embarrassing because other customers also notice so I spoke up and told her " you know it's not very professional  to complain about me in your language, if you have something to say, say it in English so I can understand you." All three stayed quiet for a few minutes. And of course she denied it again. I begin to write my Yelp review while I wait for my nails to dry and the man that did my nails looked over and noticed the one star so when I asked for their names they hesitated, looked at each other, chuckled and said Toni and Kathy, so I'm sure they lied. Someone else tried fixing my nails and then I left but man this was a very frustrating experience and not to mention this is a very unorganized nail salon and the people who work there have horrible customer service. I've been on the hunt for a new nail tech that can do everything I like. 3D nail art, sharp coffin shape, and clean paint job. And when I came to Lee's (the owner) he did everything I asked for. But the reason the rate is low is because. They seem unorganized and when a lady left upset about the work another nail tech did. he started bad mouthing her to me. I was going to my normal nail salon which is on Long Beach Blvd very close to where the Compton Swapmeet use to be. When I walked in & saw like 100+ people,  At that very moment I decided no matter how much I love the lady who does my pedicure I had to find an alternate place for that day. so I walked right around the corner inside the shopping center & saw Lee's Nail Design. I never go to a new spot without knowing someone who has been but I took a chance & was Greatly Surprised. It was a great experience! It's Very Clean, not that busy and they seated me right away. They were playing classical music & it was very relaxing. Their pedicure massage chairs are Good & new. I got LuLu & she did an Awesome job on my feet. My feet were Rough but After Lulu finished they were as soft as a babies a$$. I will Definitely be coming back to this nail salon, if I can't get to my regular lady. Definitley ask for Lulu because there was another person doing pedicures (a man) & the woman he serviced did NOT have a good experience. Read Less

This is by far the WORST nail salon ive ever went to in MY LIIIIIFEEE!! i needed my eyebrows done came in they had me go the the waxing room where the lady that works there was already attending somebody (she was also getting her eyebrows done)she finally finished with her and as she gave the customer the mirror to check herself the girl told her these are waay to thin and you left one said thinner then the other so the lady gets her shaver and starts shaving the other side down making them even more thinner honestly at this point i started rethinking whether i should try thos place or not and i wish i would have listened to my instincts...so im guessing the customer got really frustrated just told her yaa its ok and left minutes after when shes started with me already another lady that works there comes in yelling in chinese obviously idk what about turns out the previous customer had approached another person to fix her eyebrows because the lady wasnt  listening and really messed them up the lady got really bothered and taking her anger out on me i had just gotten my eyebrows messed up before going there by someone else and was letting them grow out already and it was just about that time to go finally fix them i told her that the person that did it before had left me a bald spot and if she could work around that area she kind of brushed me off and said yaa yaa yaa started doing them and i could already tell she didnt pay attention to anything i had told her she finished my brows and they were actually ok but she left alot of extra hairs so as she left the room i got the plucker and tryed to take them off well she caught me and told me nooooo i do it and i said no its ok im just tryna get the 1 hair because by that time i had already got most of them and was just missing the one she said she'd get it and you know what she did?????.....got the shaver and started thinning out both my eyebrows when i had already told her i like my eyebrows thick, that they were fine and all i needed was one hair removed when i told her to stop she started arguing with me telling me shes fixing it etc etc i told her noo i told you to get the one hair out and your shaving both my eyebrows down for no reason i payed her no tip obviously and left im never in my life going her again i honestly didnt even wanna pay she didnt listen at all and she did a terrible job i can see now why the previous customer got frustrated with her...such bad customer service if i could give it NO STARS i would......... Yesterday was my first time there and I absolutely Love my nails! I ended up here by chance while looking for LA Nails where I had gone a long time ago. This lady Lulu did my fill and nail polish, she did a great job she niceley coated my nails with the nail polish, and Jackie did my nail design, I showed him a picture and did a very nice very similar design for me, he's really good. Glad I found this place since most places when I ask for a design end up doing a not so cute looking job making me regret getting a design lol... Thank You Jackie!!! I use to love coming to this place but I just went a week ago and notice that my nail gel polish is falling off very fast and I got what looks like a wart growing!!! When I was getting my nails done the lady cut me my finger still hurts and now I see what looks like a wart growing!!! Never going back. Mannn!!! Every time i come here it is the same thing over and over and over again. The old lady does my feet. I keep telling myself to give her a chance. This time when I went, i came with my mom. My mother loves this place because Jackie (the guy) does her nails beautifully but his mother (one who does my feet) is just absolutely horrible. If you see that i am twitching that means it hurts. This lady picks and picks at the corner of my toe till it bleeds! She then proceeds to hold it with her finger and pour alcohol on it. I am screaming because it burns so much so she dunks my toe in the dirty blue water. I do not understand why people do not own up to their bad choices. She did not apologize or even acknowledge what she did and then had the audacity to have an attitude with me. Very unacceptable. This is my LAST TIME coming here. Read Less

I've been coming to Lee's for over 9 years and I just LOVE them. Lee is very talented when it comes to designing. I get compliments EVERYTIME. Jackie is too talented. Ok so I visited this place 2 times because I am in that area quite often My first experience was barely mediocre but due to their city I opted to give it a second chance. I'm sorry but please ....please do not bother going here. First off it is not sanitary and doesn't follow my expectations of cleanliness for a nail salon. I was worried that I would get some type of fungus because they re use the nail filer, clipper, brushes, buffer, etc on every customer. I was sitting there and I witnessed it myself. One of the employees just put their steel tools into the sanitary packaging without cleaning them! I assume this is for when inspection comes in, they are prepared to make it look like they follow health codes. Secondly, the talent. I got a french tip full set and a pedicure on my first visit.. Not impressed at all. My nails started lifting in 2 days. I paid $58 +tip for this trip and I didn't feel like I got much out of it. Second visit, I got 3D nail art and a pedicure. I paid $73+tip including callus remover and art on my toes. Also, I got callus remover because I wear wedges and flip flops often, they did not do a good job on this at all.My recommedation is this, stick to places in north O.C. Fullerton, Brea, Tustin, Newport Beach, Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda. The places that I visit in these cities with my girlfriends offer cleaner service and have better talent. If you want 3D Nail Art then head to LA, Lil Tokyo to be exact. This place makes a sad attempt to imitate 3D nail art. It looks cheap and tacky. You know those rhinestoned cell phone cases???Do you want fake rhinestones that are lazily glued on or real swaroski crystals neatly arranged? Thats the comparison to this place and an actual nail place that specializes in 3D nail art. ALSO. the 3D nail art done by Lee & Jacki are amazing! always make an appointment, unless you really have nothing to do and have a day to spare.. I drive from Rowland to this place and it takes 4 hrs for my nails.. but they are always magnificant and the results are true works of art!
