I can't speak for the nail technicians or other hairdressers, but this is a review on Tony's skills. I hate to write a bad review because this is a small mom n pop's and this is someone's living, but I don't even know if Tony even tried with my hair or if he's even trained. I was actually going to make an appointment with Linda due to the good reviews, but I was fine with someone else cutting it. When I arrived, there was a man smoking outside and it turned out to be Tony. Strong cigarette smell, and even stronger cigarette breathe the whole time I was getting my haircut. That itself wouldn't be too big of a deal if the haircut was decent.I came to get my hair slightly layered just to trim off the dyed ends of my hair. Tony said that I need to get two inches off to get all the dyed portions of my hair off. That, no problem. Now the problem comes in where the layers are totally... botched. Like a kid went after it with those little school scissors that they require you to buy for class. Imagine very choppy layers where someone gets a lock of your hair and just snips it. Just snips it, because that is exactly what he did across my hair. I was surprised but stayed quiet. I expected him to at least finish the layers off with shears to give it a natural soft edge, but he used one scissor for the whole hair. Yeah.. for layers... never even used shear scissors. My hair looked like a bunched of oddly stringy noodles with blunt edges. That's really the best way to describe it.He asked me if I liked the haircut. No, I freakin didn't, but I already got more than 2 inches cut off (he did really deep layers unfortunately) and I wasn't gonna let him touch it anymore or try to "fix" it and mess it up even more, so I said it's okay and gave him a tip anyway - after all he was the only one running the counter and cutting my hair at the same time as people kept coming to ask for Linda. Poor guy, I didn't feel like giving him 0 tip even though the haircut was really shoddy.Hate to say it but Tony needs to learn how to cut hair. It was only $18 but I've gotten better, DECENT haircuts for $18 and less. Even a chain like Great Clips does a better job. He was friendly, though it was weird that he kept telling me I am losing hair, I have thin hair, and that I must be wearing a tight ponytail (I don't wear ponytails, and just a couple hours before, a wigmaker told me I have beautiful thick hair so idk). At least Tony wasn't trying to sell me products or he was trying to scare me into asking for products. He was probably just trying to be helpful but it just added more irritation on top of the bad haircut. Read Less
