Needed my nails filled last minute (originally had them done else where) and they turned out great, so so much better than the last salon I went to!!!! I take my 91-year old mother with severe dementia here to get her fingernails done and they are incredibly sweet to her!  She is usually in a good mood and cooperates, but someone with dementia can have bad days and the workers here are most gracious in all cases.  The man who does her fingernails is very patient, very sweet, and does a beautiful job.  It's the only place I will take her for manicures! This is the best place I've been too in sacramento. The shop was clean and very comfortable. I showed up before closing time hoping that they would have time for me, and they did! Dan, the man that did my nails, did a FABULOUS job! He was so sweet and very tedious about his work! He knew exactly what I wanted and surpassed my expectations by far! You'll get a amazing mani-pedi for cheap! It's safe to say I have a new nail place and Dan has a new regular customer! It was a phenomenal experience. Dan has been doing my nails for 7 years now. Always makes time for my fill and does a remarkable job. I have acrylic done but they also do gel. Price is always fair. I have Helen wax my eyebrows and for $7 it's a deal. I recommend giving Macys a try you'll be pleasantly surprised. Read Less

Stopped in for a pedicure on the fly. The girl was sweet to me but did not do what I expect of a pedicure. She was watching her soap opera through the window blinds while massaging my legs and must have been the big distraction from a good job. I will not be coming back. Next time I'll drive the extra few minutes to a reputable spot. Read Less

I had my first ever nightmare hair appointment today! We talked about adding a little auburn to my blonde highlights and I ended up with large segments of purple hair. The worse part is that I don't think she would have done anything I hadn't asked if she could fix it. I guess she tried but now I have large areas of copper hair. Dirty! Dirty! Dirty! I stopped by to ask on a pedicure. I went to the back of the salon, where they were eating.. One lady I asked about a Pedicure quickly ushered me to the chair, which I had said I was just checking on prices and availability. She gave me a card with her name and price. As I was leaving I took my time to look around and stopped and actually looked at the Pedicure Spa Chairs and around them. They were so disgusting! I would never put my feet in that. As I approached the door I spotted a huge pile of unswept hair by a cutting station. Apparently they cut hair too, but aren't swift to clean. Please be careful of places like this. I have a friend that is seeking medical services from a podiatrist, after going to one of these places. You get what you pay for! Or you may get more than you bargained for. Read Less

The story of my getting my nails done is tragic, but has a very happy ending.  Please keep in mind I NEVER write reviews, so for me to say something means I am extremely happy with the results.About 2 weeks ago, I went to a place in Rocklin and thought they had done an okay job.  Long-story short, they were horrible and started lifting the day after they were done.  I was so busy after I had them done I couldn't get them fixed until today. Based on their condition I thought all my nails were going to have be replaced instead of filled.  I know some people would complain about the condition of the salon when they walked in, but it is an old building and I expected the age to show.  The room was clean and I did not see anything that disgusted me.  When the technician (possibly the owner) looked at my nails, he said he could still do a fill even though a couple of the nails were over half lifted, and recommended it since I was going to need to have the tips redone the next time (I get white tips and my nails grow fast).  He removed all the lift parts, re-glued the tips that were pulling away from my nail, thinned out the think areas of fiberglass, and then filled them in.  I expected with the extra work there was going to be extra cost, but my fill was still only $15.Needless to say I am very happy with the results and will be going back when I need my next fill. Ok,I just want to start off by saying that the cost of my pedicure was $18, which is the lowest price I have ever paid. Having said that, I would not recommend this place and will not return. First off, it looks like a dump. It is small and disorganized. Second, their massage chairs do not work, and I really like getting a shiatzu massage while getting my toes pretty. Third, their foot & calf massage was the least effective one ever received. Fourth, while I was there, one of their hair dressers didn't bother to show up for an appt. and the people had to wait outside (and were still waiting when I left) in their vehicle. On top of that, the lady asked me to walk over to the area where you dry your nails without any shoes on! GROSS! I declined and put my sandals on before going over to dry my nails. Most salons offer the little cheap slippers if you are wearing shoes that are not easy to get on with wet nails, but there was no offer made for that. The water in the soaking tub was barely luke-warm. I was never offered different options (most places offer a few options for their pedicures, including parafin wax, etc.) The lady was nice and I feel bad leaving 2 stars, but this place did not meet, much less exceed my expectations. Dropped in here to get fills. I have been going to another nail salon in Rocklin, as it was close to my hair salon (Hues Nail and Skin Salon ROCKS, specifically ATOSA) for quite some time, but time had gotten away from me over the holidays, and I live in Citrus Heights, so I thought I'd support a closer neighborhood business. Well, I told 'Helen' that I was picky and she wasn't deterred (star 1), I told her I wanted to keep my natural nails (with acrylic, of course), she understood (star 2 - as many of you know, language is an issue at many nail salons) and proceeded with her craft. One nail needed replacement and as she 'formed' it, I noticed it was off center. She quickly corrected it (star 3), my prior manicurist could never understand me... It was just before NY Eve, so I wanted glittery nails, I picked out a color, but just as she was ready to paint she suggested another sparkly polish that I liked even better! (star 4) The only reason I haven't given them a 5 star rating is that I haven't had a pedicure from them yet, again I am VERY particular, and I haven't been for a return visit YET.... But I recommend this salon, particularly Helen for your manicure; she is very good at her craft and a sweetheart too! I will be returning to Macy's Nail Salon very soon and will then amend my review ... Read Less
