Not only am I upset that I have to write this review, I am even more upset that I am typing this review with the worst set of acrylics that I've ever had...My birthday is on Sunday, so I decided I would pamper myself a little bit today because I deserve it. I have been a client of Vivid Nails for a few years now. I rarely get my nails done, but when I do, I go to this salon. I usually have good experiences here but today has completely turned me off from ever going there again, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone again. So, here is my experience: I asked for a full set of acrylic nails and a pedicure when I went in. I specifically asked for regular polish, because I do not care for gel. Starting with the pedicure... The woman was nice, but she didn't pay much attention. The only time she talked to me was when she was trying to get me to upgrade to the most expensive pedicure option on their menu. I started out by saying I only wanted the $21 regular pedicure. By the time the pedicure woman took my feet out of the water, she had already asked me to upgrade to the "deluxe pedicure", to which I said "sure, why not"... I am pampering myself after all, right? This "deluxe" treatment includes some kind of mud masque for your legs, a scrub, and oil. Let me tell you, there was nothing deluxe about this treatment. By the time the woman doing my acrylics started on my nails, the pedicure woman had asked her to ask me if I wanted her to do the $50 pedicure, to which I politely declined. She splattered the 3 creams onto my shins and rubbed them around, quickly put my feet into plastic bags and squirted a callus treatment in. The massage was nonexistent. It was all very rushed. I honestly could've painted my toes myself and splashed some oils on my legs for free. Then I was asked to walk across the floor barefoot (which the acrylics tech had literally JUST picked my purse up off of the floor because, in her words, "the floor is sometimes very dirty")... I was then moved to the nail tables. Now on to the acrylics... The tech was very nice at first. She wished me a happy birthday, which was sweet. As she was doing my nails, she mentioned "total for nails is $53, okay?" I thought this was for the manicure and the acrylics. So I said, "okay, thank you." I closed my eyes and tried to relax, which was the sole purpose of me going here in the first place, and I really should have just paid attention. When it was time for my nails to dry, she had apparently put a gel coat on the top of my set and I thought it was just a clear coat. She did the little lotion and oil massage on my hands and told me I was good to go. When I got to the register, she told me my total was $87........... EIGHTY-SEVEN. Now see, if my nails looked great and I left happy, I would have no problem with that total. But these nails are atrocious. They are way too thick, some point upwards, two are dented, and they are an all-over mess. Anyway, I tipped $5 to each tech and went to my car. I did the math on my phone to figure out how it went from $53 to $87. The pedicure itself was $34, so my nails would have to be $53 by themselves... I went back in and one of the ladies loudly said, "oooh" and called the acrylic tech over in a 'ooh she's coming in to say something'-condescending manner. Very unprofessional. I politely asked how the total was calculated. The woman who did my acrylic set told me, "it was $14 extra for the manicure, which is the lotion and the massage. I told you $53 and you said okay". I am a calm, understanding person, and I kept my composure. I left and drove home upset. My mother in law took one look at my nails and laughed at how bulky they are. She told me she refuses to go to Vivid Nails because they did the same thing to her a while ago. I honestly just want to take these ugly things off and never go back again. I feel like I was taken advantage of, and now I know better. I obviously need to be blunt about what I want and ask more questions, but I did not expect to be ripped off like this.....I am attaching pictures of my nails. I will not be going back to vivid nails, I will not recommend their services to anyone ever again. I have to deal with these ugly, bulky nails until they come off. If they were thinner, I wouldn't mind, but the customer service was awful. If I'm paying almost $100 for my nails, they damn sure better be amazing. Read Less
