I had a last minute cancel at my usual nail salon (my own fault), so I needed to find another place that was available during my small window of opportunity and when I looked at my gps, this place was fairly close. My best friend and I came in and signed the check-in sheet. They DO take walk-ins so that's a real convenience. The place was pretty busy that Sunday but we didn't have to wait long before I was greeted by Jean. She was so sweet and understanding of the appearance of my unusual lack of care for my fingernails. I've been stressed lately- what? I told her that I wanted natural looking gel and when I gave her the color I thought I wanted, she recommended something way better. Repeat customer but never again. They tried to charge me $5 extra to fix a broken nail, my real nails. Once I said no thank you the nail tech started of course talking about me to the tech doing my pedicure. She wasn't paying attention and was talking throughout the process and my right hand I think missed a step and isn't as shinny as the left and had some missing. Some of my polish came off my toes & I called the same night it happened. The lady asked what time did I want to come tomorrow since they were closing, I said I didn't know what time. I came the next day and yes they were busy, so the lady asked did I want to come later and she said that's why I asked you what time. I said no, I'm busy. I asked for the color to do it myself and she pretty much ignored me.... I paid $131 for myself, my husband, and daughter. I came here just for a basic manicure, I wanted my nails filed nicely, my cuticles taken care of, and a clear coat of polish. I don't know the name of the woman who did my nails but she kept pestering me to get color even though I didn't want it. Then, when she was doing my cuticles she either wasn't paying attention or going to fast because she cut me. Lastly, she cut my nails way shorter than necessary, didn't make them even, didn't remove all the dead skin around them, and the filing job was terrible. I am never going back, I literally asked for the most simple treatment and just wanted to walk out with my nails looking neat; instead they looked like I had just finished woodworking! If I could give no stars I would. DONT COME HERE. I came in here to get my acrylic nails removed. I was asked to pay before the girl finished so I gave a tip. Once the girl was removing my nails (the bad method where they take a fake nail tip and pop the nail off by getting the fake nail tip in between the real and fake nail). She took the fake nail tip and plunged it under my real nail. So I started bleeding a little bit and she didn't do anything. I have a damaged nail bed. I washed my hands and it was done. I payed $10 and they didn't even buff them or added a top coat. At other salons I go to they at least add a simple tip coat and  make sure they look nice and soft. I complained and  said that they cut me and that I wanted my money back at least the money I gave for my tip. And they wouldn't. they wouldn't let me talk and the girl who did it was next to the manager as the manager was talking to me. She was just giggling a little and didn't even apologise. This place is just alright. I have went here a couple of times and I'd recommend this salon only if you're getting a pedicure.I got a manicure (acrylic full set) and I have never had nails that broke right after I got them until I came her. My nails broke on the 1st night by simply tapping them. The customer service was subpar didn't even know where to go when I came in. Thirdly, my nail lady caught a serious attitude after I told her I didn't like the color on my nails. Not to mention, they are very overpriced. I won't be returning. I live 25 mins from here amd basic pedicure is around $28 so this def for my budget and more. Ladies were professional, salon was clean, and they took their time. I loved going there I have my favorite ladies but everyone is good over all. I went with my daughter today and I had to step out to take a work call while she was done. I got a fill that was $30 and she got a pedi. I left her my card and at the end realized they charged her $100! I had already tipped cash and when I asked why the charges she couldn't really come up with the right total. So messed up they took advantage of a teenager over charging her. Before she does your eyebrows, she hands you a mirror and goes over the shape you want and everything else. She is also funny. I was entertained the entire time she did my eyebrows. Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience at Serenity Nail & Spa in Chula Vista, CA this weekend. My partner and I were asked to schedule an appointment at 12:00pm due to the Labor Day Weekend rush. Upon returning, we were shuffled from chair to chair and accompanied with lukewarm water. The most baffling disappointment surfaced when the nail technician accidenity dropped sterile tooling on the floor and proceeded to pick the tools up and complete my pedicure without re-sanitizing. I would assume that using unsterilized tooling is against U.S. sanitary code, not to mention minimal policy & procedure in any service-based establishment. To that end, my partner and I were not advised to choose the color of our liking upon entry. I proceeded to walk across the building with wet feet - selecting a color in haste. Once the technician finished the basic pedicure, she concluded with a top coat and absolutely no moisturizer - the appointment was confirmed complete with blatantly ashen feet and subpar polish. Unfortunately, as an out-of-state visitor, this was not the experience I'd hoped for in effort to kick-off an extended holiday weekend. I thought this place was cute so I gave them a try.  I told the girl that i had acrylics on. She's like no you don't. I said yes I do. Its an overlay. She kept using her drill. I told her it hurts, I think you drilled too deeply. She said no. I'm the professional. I know what I'm doing. I was mad when she said that. Obviously it fucking hurt me. Then she gave me to the next girl. She did really good work. She was fast. She took the drill out to clean under my nail after She did the acrylic. She went to deep and hurt me. I told her and she laughed... that pissed me off. She was shaping them and she cut my skin. I don't understand why they aren't comprehending  that when your client says you are hurting me then be more careful. I went to the front to pay. I didn't tip. I was so mad. This is my go-to spot!!!My mom and I loooove coming here for our nails. Honestly, right when you walk in you feel like you're in a bougie place haha they have a gorgeous design on the ceiling right near the entrance (although right now, they're currently renovating the back area so it's not as bougie as it usually is, but just ignore that!) All the employees are so amazing and friendly. I've actually never gotten the same girl twice, yet I never leave disappointed. They're more expensive than other nail salons I've been too but it's honestly worth it. A gel manicure is around $30 or so (but don't quote me on that) but they pay such high attention to detail! The nail shop was closing in 10 minutes and while I appreciate them still taking me they were rude. The owner asked me to pay before they even started my services and asked me how much I wanted to tip in front f all of the customers and the nail techs. I've been coming here for years! I absolutely love this place. I really only had one time that I walked out upset, and it was after I got a fill (white gel polish), the polish started to turn yellow and black and I came in and asked if this was normal and the lady at the front (who hadn't been working there very long cause I've never seen her) made me pay for an entire new fill!!! I'm sorry, but you should warn your customers if you know your white polish isn't up to par. I came to do my nails here and I'm always pleased with the results. They are pretty packed on a Friday, but parking is easy and accessible. I came here with Lucy last time and she was great! I loved how she did my nails, and she was always checking to make sure she was putting them on right. I got acrylic nails French tip which is now apparently $30, i used to pay $27 I think so I'm assuming their prices went up, but none the less Lily was great, and  I will definitely seek her again! :) I always come here to do my nails but this time I was really pleased with the results. I'm so happy I can find a reliable nail salon here in eastlake! The only downfall from this place is how they always try to pressure you into getting gel (since you pay $5 extra for gel), other than than place is great and clean and the lady in the front is very nice too. I've tried Serenity Nails several times now. I believe in giving businesses second chances. Serenity Nails had lost all chances with me. After signing in and telling them what I wanted , they forgot about me and I waited for 40 minutes.  When I got up and asked them how much longer, she said "oh.....what did you need done? Did you sign in? " On another occasion the one doing my nails cut me and I bled. And it really hurt! Let me start off by saying, I NEVER get my nails done. I decided to get a pedicure on a whim as a treat-yourself type of thing. The last time I can recall going to a nail salon was in high school, five years ago. With that said, I don't have much to compare this place to. I walked in today at 11AM and was serviced right away. I scoped out OPI nail polish because frankly, out of all of the brands on the shelves, that was the only brand I had knowledge of. They didn't seem to have too much of a selection for OPI, but it didn't bother me because I found a nice deep terracotta color that I liked.The lady who did my pedicure was incredibly sweet and put up with me as I laughed uncontrollably while she rubbed the bottom of my feet because I am. so. ticklish. I remembered in that moment exactly why I never get pedicures. Trying to hold still was a conscious effort.The lowest tier for pedicures is $19 if paying by cash and $20 if paying by card. I don't know how that prices fares against its competitors, but it seemed like a lot to me as someone who never gets pedicures. However, since this was a rare purchase, I didn't mind much. This place used to be a lot better. Now it's your typical mediocre job, get you in and out quick nail salon. Mary did a terrible job on my manicure, she had taken the LED light out for the gel manicure without even touching my cuticles!! I couldn't believe it so I asked are we doing color already? She said yes, I said what about the cuticles? "Oh yes yes." She literally spent 4 minuets just removing my old polish (regular not gel) and filling the crap out of the bed my natural nails when I was distracted choosing a color. Mary then proceeded to do the worst job at cutting my cuticles! A whole 3 minuets if that! I had to tell her to push back my cuticle and she STILL did a horrible job at that. She was in such a hurry yet the salon was empty. The gel color went all over the cuticles and it really accentuated the fact that they were uneven and unkept! The only reason the manicure looked semi-decent (from far away) is because of the color I choose. I won't be going back there I'm done with that place. So many better salons to choose from... This salon is just mediocre. Not great not horrible. I have come back many times while trying others in between. I have come to know what to expect and since most other salons also just churn out the customers, I keep returning. I get a spa pedicure each time (3x a year maybe is all) and it works. Decent enough scrub, rub, polish and go. Polish lasts and feet feel good. Workers are busy and speaking with each other, which is fine by me. I'm ok with get in, get out. Last visit I did notice it's about time to invest in some new polish as many I chose were old, almost gone or so thick they were unusable. Unless you have a special tech that you see regularly, this place is no different than most. Understand that and you're expectations will be met. Read Less

I really wanted to like this place. It's gorgeous inside and super close to my house. I had an appointment  and had to wait 15 minutes past my appointment time but that was not a big deal. I didn't get the name of the lady who did my nails but when I sat down I got no hello or greeting whatsoever. The employee doing nails next to me actually greeted me! I was handed a container of gel colors to choose from while my lady proceeded to text someone's after I chose my color she got up, said nothing, grabbed her phone and disappeared for 5 minutes. She came back grabbed my hands and stuck them in cold water. She told me the accent color I chose would be 5.00 for 2 nails. Seemed ridiculous but I wanted an accent nail and didn't want to go thru the colors again so I agreed to pay. My gel manicure began and she had to continuously stop to text. She cut the side of my nails (see pictures) and barley cut any cuticles. She was pretty rough! :/ the applied the gel and my nails were not smooth so there are bumps. She didn't apply the color to my entire nail and when I showed her she rudely said she would fix.. oh I forgot, she called someone and put earphones on to have a conversation so maybe she was rude that  interrupted her phone call? My accent nail was glitter and she couldn't get the glitter to stick so she said that was the best she could do... I asked her to apply more glitter and she did but would wipe it off after.. Gel manicure and regular pedi are my go to here. Chin and Nina are both great. Im super hesitant when it comes to new people working on my nails, so I did my research on Yelp. I feel confident that any one of the ladies here will do a great job in the case that Nina or Chin are unavailable. This place is located in the Otay Ranch Mall, and it's 5 minutes away from my home. If you think they're talking crap about you, they probably are.. My husband and I came as soon as they opened for pedicures. Actually we were a few minutes early and they took us anyways which was nice and one of the few reasons why they aren't a one star review.My husband had a woman with short hair and I had another woman, I believe her name was Mary. My manicurist was actually really nice. Although she was quiet, probably because I looked upset the entire time...Now why did I look upset? Because as soon as my husband and I sat down, the shit talking commenced! The lady with the short hair would not keep her thoughts to herself. As soon as we sat down, she was scheming about how she could rush our pedicures and do it in less than 30 minutes, mind you my husband and I decided to go for the Royal pedicure which is the most expensive pedicure on the menu. She then proceeded to talk crap about my husband and about myself. She talked crap about every single person that walked into the salon and then would, in English, be all giggly and jokey with you.What the manicurists didn't know is that I am half Vietnamese and even though I don't look even the littlest bit Vietnamese, I am fluent and can understand and speak Vietnamese. Well obviously I couldn't relax at all. My husband, who is not Vietnamese nor can he understand Vietnamese, had no idea what was going on. I sat there fuming the entire time just wanting to get out of the pedicure chair as fast as possible. This woman talked shit about every single person that walked into the salon. Her next appointment walked in and she talked about how fat her client was in Vietnamese but in English was being super nice and friendly.. ugh it was so disgusting. Another employee talked about how she didn't care if clients threatened to leave because they've been waiting too long because more people would always come. BASICALLY they don't care about customer service at all or keeping clientele. SO I sat there fuming and when I was finally done, I calmly, in Vietnamese, asked to speak with the owner of the salon. Of course, everyone was freaked out and they knew they had been caught. The ONLY reasons this salon got two stars out of me is because my manicurist was one of the few likeable employees in the salon and the way management handled the situation once I spoke to them..I will NEVER come back to this salon. So came in this afternoon to get full set mani with acrylics and gel nail polish. I sat down and the lady asked me to pick my color. When she started I had told her what I wanted. At this time I hadn't cut my nails in quite some time so they were somewhat long. she told me I don't need acrylics bc my nails were long and she will just fill in my left index finger since it was chipped. I said ok to her thought bc heck it should be cheaper right?? (my first mistake)So here's when she starts on my nails and puts the primer....... a few min after that FIRST STEP. my skin around my nails on majority of the right hand began to burn and feel like they were going to fall off!!!!!!!!! I told her and she continued to work on my hand then stopped and put some type of liquid on my nails and rubbed it and told me it should stop the burning. It didn't. so she's asked again if it stopped and I told her no and she continued to work before putting more liquid. so I just sucked it up and sat through whatever pain was left brewingthe end product was very cute and I loved the fact that the lady had put multiple layers with out me asking!!!!  I was surprised at how much I liked the length and shapeThen here comes the part that really pissed me off beyond all. The lady at the counter had given me the total......$40 for my REAL Nails to be painted. I wish the lady had actually given me my own copy of the receipt. But from what I remember I believe it was $27 for THE POWDER on my nails and $13 for the gel. if I knew I was going to get charged that much I would have taken my business else where from the start. This nail salon has gone downhill since the new manager came in. They don't honor your appointment, they try to jam in as many people as they can to make a buck. I had to wait an extra hour and a half because my manicurist had to cram in extra clients at her managers demands. This never used to happen. All 3 times I have come they don't honor my appointment and then tell me I only waited 5 minutes when it's 30+ It's a shame because I am a frequent customer and good tipper.
