I just left this nail salon and I have been here numerous times but after my experience today I am never coming back. As in every salon the ladies are always talking to each other while working on their client which I don’t really appreciate but that is not why I am unhappy, the lady who assisted me was busy talking so she did not care about what she was doing. she kept going over my nail with nail polish and with the cuticle pusher she poked me with the metal and it is bruised now. she messed up big time. I was very disappointed with the end result I could have done better. I know my nails are very short and it’s hard to stay in the lines but they have done it many times with my nails being shorter than they are now. My mom noticed that I was unhappy and told the later at the front desk(she was very kind) I said that they didn’t need to be fixed(at this point I just wanted to go home) but then the lady who did my nails came and pulled me by the hand, I am not trying to be dramatic but it hurt my hand a lot. Then another lady came and started saying that it’s because my nails are short and said that the reason my moms nail polish looked better was because her nails are nice, so she was implying that my nails were not. My eyes started to water up but I didn’t want to cry inside the store, so I left the store and went straight to the car and started crying. I am a ten year old so of course i cried. This is why I am never going back to Kathy’s nails again.

Just walked out of this place because the lady that was going to take my nails off was charging me extra 7 dollars for removing my nails (w/o pain) It's just ridiculous. So pretty much if they hurt you they charge you less ..... if you ask to remove your nails with no pain they charge you extra . How does that make sense ???? So disappointed at this place for the second time .

This is a late post form a few weeks ago... so, I seriously never get my nails done. But, I had a photo shoot coming up and needed to look polished. I checked reviews at different nail salons and found Kathy's to be the cleanest, and cleanliness is my number one priority! I was super happy with the nail service, the outcome of my nails and the artist, herself. If you need a recommendation, I absolutely suggest Lianne. She's so personable and funny. Love her!! And my coffin shaped, French ombré nails were gorge! I only gave 4 stars and not 5, simply bc I made an appointment but was still asked to wait about an hour. As a mom of 4, an hour is everything!!

There was a super long wait which, whatever, it's San Diego I understand this place is a busy city. When I sat to get my nails done they were trying to be efficient, I get that, but she was doing my nails and also doing someone else's nails at the foot spa at the same time. I was like okay that's weird but I really needed them done. She actually did amazing on my nails. Cleaned out underneath my nails, which my old nail lady never did so I super appreciated that, she painted them evenly and made sure to clean her lines up. Loved that. But she didn't let me put my nails under the UV light twice, which I like to do as I'm a CNA and I wash my hands a lot and the polish tends to chip if I don't put it under the light twice. Paid, tips are CASH ONLY for those who never carry cash make sure to bring some, and left. Got home and was video chatting my sister and she pointed out a chipped nail. I had only been home an hour... So I was like what?! But I went back a few days later after a nail actually broke to have them fix it and the chipped paint and Kathy fixed it free, which was great! Got home and I had a nail break again 2 days later. I don't think it was their fault I just think the acrylic was a little thin.

I just had the best manicure I've ever had!!I was in town for a wedding and had time to kill before checking in to my AirBnB so I looked for nail shops in the area and found Kathy's. I will definitely be back!Friendly staff, fast & thorough service. Other things that stood out:- comfortable chairs in the seating area- clean- modern decor- lots of staff- knowledgeable staff - one of the techs knew a customers color selection by number by just looking at her nails. - built in UV lamps at every station- hand massage is done when nails are complete -- basically, the tech massages my hands and freshly painted nails to ensure they're done. They accept walk-ins and appointments. There were many regulars when I went in around lunch time on a Thursday.

I went in for long almond shaped ombré nails & left with short stiletto-ish nails. When she asked if I liked the shape I told her what I wanted & she even asked to see the picture I had again, and they still came out nothing like what I wanted. The length was good but throughout my time there she just kept shortening them little by little until they were down a lot from the original length. I paid $40 and I’m very upset about it.

During my first and last visit to get myself a gel mani & pedi after a long, hard-working work week, I just could not shake off the sense that it seemed as though the ladies were continuously speaking to one another in their native language and by the tone they were using, they were either all having a horrible day or they were speaking negatively about their customers. The professional factor immediately dropped for me.The clientele was also a little off. Many seemed like young girls. A few were behaving a little obnoxiously and speaking loudly. What lady wants to have her nails done while the girl sitting across does not know how to simmer down. Aside from that, the overall level of service was extremely average. However, I like to give the benefit of the doubt to this nail salon. I might return in 6mon with the hope that my 2nd experience is a better one.

No they're not I went there and the lady was so rude. They are only nice if you want to get dramatic nails and of course it's pricey so that benefits them. But if you asked for natural nails that are less work they don't make enough money then there rude. About a week ago I asked for a certain worker they said she was busy and she didn't have a appointment available. Then my sister called right after and they gave her an with the lady that I ask for .So no they don't have good customer service. And I never see their instruments sterilized that worries me.

I love Kathys nails!!!I'm super picky with how my nails look. But I know that I will love my nails if I go here. I started getting my nails done with Anne since one of my coworkers recommended her. I loved the way she did my nails. She does them thick enough so that they don't break easy but thin enough that they look natural. My nails last about 3 weeks before I like to get a fill. I like to change my nail color a lot so why I get a fill. Not necessarily because they break lol.I most recently started getting my nails with Hana since Anne wasn't available and I fell in love with her too. I have been going with Hana for the past months!! All in all I really like they way my nails turn out. I have also done my toes here and they do a great job. My most recent time an older talk slim lady did my pedicure and she was so thorough with my toes and I loved how she took her time with me and complimented my RiRi socks.Also thanks Kathy for my $5 off coupon!

This is my Nail Place! I don't go anywhere else! Their prices are good, staff are very friendly, always do a good job. I make appointments but I have seen other people walk in and still not have to wait too long. When my mom or niece is in town I take them there too! It is true though that there are some of the staff that can not communicate very well but still worth it. I love it there! Thanks Kathy!

They are terrible made my nail bleed with the drill way too rough and four of my nails are completely crooked paint job was terrible and messy and cheap just got them done three days ago and are already chipping. Didn't even clean my Cuticals my nails look like a five year old did them. When I asked her to correct her mistakes she was very rude and wouldn't listen I paid 35 dollars for the worst nail experience I do not recommend this place at all

My sister and I are Kathy and her staffs biggest fans! I've never left disappointed. Once my sister scheduled 2 mani pedi appointments at 6:30 and didn't realize they closed at 7. Not only did they still schedule our appointments but they also didn't rush their work. I've never been to a salon where the technicians took their time so late in the evening. That's when I realized this salon was winner. Kathy is lovely and her staff is outstanding. I always bring my nieces here when I want to treat them to a spa day. Way to go Kathy! I hope your salon gets voted the best in san diego!

Kathy is the sweetest, cutest and most talented nail artist I've ever been to. I promise you will always leave happy. She's delicate, precise and I'm always satisfied. I've been going to her for years and even when my nails are old they still look nice! People are always commenting on my nails at work, when out and about or at home. Even tho I've moved I still will go to only her. You'll need an appointment but it's definately worth it! She's the best of the best!

I just left this nail salon and I have been here numerous times but after my experience today I am never coming back. This is a late post form a few weeks ago... so, I seriously never get my nails done. But, I had a photo shoot coming up and needed to look polished. I checked reviews at different nail salons and found Kathy's to be the cleanest, and cleanliness is my number one priority! I was super happy with the nail service, the outcome of my nails and the artist, herself. If you need a recommendation, I absolutely suggest Lianne. She's so personable and funny. Love her!! My most recent time an older talk slim lady did my pedicure and she was so thorough with my toes and I loved how she took her time with me and complimented my RiRi socks.Also thanks Kathy for my $5 off coupon!

This is my Nail Place! I don't go anywhere else! Their prices are good, staff are very friendly, always do a good job. I make appointments but I have seen other people walk in and still not have to wait too long. When my mom or niece is in town I take them there too! It is true though that there are some of the staff that can not communicate very well but still worth it. I love it there! Thanks Kathy!

It was okay I had to keep telling the lady what to do. I'm very picky and I had to tell the lady three times my nails where uneven and she "fixed" them don't know if I'll go back. They charged $32 for my full set coffin nails. They don't communicate that good and place looks a little outdated. They were very friendly though

They are terrible made my nail bleed with the drill way too rough and four of my nails are completely crooked paint job was terrible and messy and cheap just got them done three days ago and are already chipping. Didn't even clean my Cuticals my nails look like a five year old did them. When I asked her to correct her mistakes she was very rude and wouldn't listen I paid 35 dollars for the worst nail experience I do not recommend this place at all

My sister and I are Kathy and her staffs biggest fans! I've never left disappointed. Once my sister scheduled 2 mani pedi appointments at 6:30 and didn't realize they closed at 7. Not only did they still schedule our appointments but they also didn't rush their work. I've never been to a salon where the technicians took their time so late in the evening. That's when I realized this salon was winner. Kathy is lovely and her staff is outstanding. I always bring my nieces here when I want to treat them to a spa day. Way to go Kathy! I hope your salon gets voted the best in san diego!

Kathy is the sweetest, cutest and most talented nail artist I've ever been to. I promise you will always leave happy. She's delicate, precise and I'm always satisfied. I've been going to her for years and even when my nails are old they still look nice! People are always commenting on my nails at work, when out and about or at home. Even tho I've moved I still will go to only her. You'll need an appointment but it's definately worth it! She's the best of the best!
