I've been coming here for well over 3 years and I love it! I even moved to Ocean Beach a year ago and still drive all the way up to La Costa to get my nails done. I get acrylics with gel from Tina and my pedicures from Anna and Tony! Tina is awesome and her husband Ryan is usually the one who paints my nails, both of them can do great and fun designs. I recommend making an appointment because they do get busy (and I like to make sure I get the same people) but walkins are always welcome! They have an amazing selection of colors and they're always up on the newest trends. Anna and Tony give the best massages and amazing pedicures! My whole family comes here and we love it!! This was the worst nail service ever!! I made an appt. in a pinch. I got to the salon, and I noticed right away it was filthy! Nails on the floor, and tables covered with dust. Cutting to the chase my pedicure was super sloppy. I felt really uncomfortable so I paid for the service. When I got home I realized i should have spoken up. I called back to see about getting my money back. I was passed to multiple nail techs to explain my story. They were beyond rude and said that if I wanted a refund I had to come back. I went back to the salon about an hour later and was told that my card had been refunded. I graciously said thank you and was very appreciative. As I was buckling up to pull away I hear a tap on my car window. It was the technician who did my pedi. She was yelling at me asking why I didn't want to pay her for her service. She continued to yell and list off all the services she had performed, massage, callus removal etcetera. I apologized and thanked her and explained I was unhappy with the outcome. She began screaming at me saying "stop saying thank you, stop saying sorry, why don't you want to pay" after being screamed at in the parking PT for about 3 minutes, I politely told her "I no longer wanted to be berated in the parking lot".Then she pointed her two fingers in my eyes and said "I'll remember you". It was one of the most awkward experiences I've ever had getting my nails done. In conclusion, the salon is very cheap in price. That being said it is filthy and the customer service is beyond poor. I've given this salon too many chances. Painful nails and very long service. 2:15 hours at the nail salon for a mani pedi! I will say that they have a lot of shades to choose from, but not worth the poor service. Also, my nail tech couldn't even do a simple design which she said she could do before she started...my nails turned out very plain. After my manicure (yes they did my manicure and pedicure separately) I waited another 20 minutes for someone to start my pedicure. I always get a manicure from Tony. He is amazing! He can do most nail art as long as you show him a photo for reference. Everyone is super friendly, the chairs are comfortable, I always find parking and I never have to wait to get in. Tony is the best!!!! I highly recommend! Read Less

i went in for acrylics and found that i was very pleased with the service, especially considering how cheap it was. they charged $30 when most places charge $45 or more. my only complaints would be that they treat you much better if you have made an appointment. also, my nails were a bit uneven but i got them almond shaped so that is normal. overall though, a great job was done. I used to get weekly mani pedis here. I made appointments with Vivian who does a great job. The problem is that all the technicians work for themselves so there is a desire for the technician to rush through your service, I didn't necessarily experience this with her. I recently in separate occasions had my sister and mother visiting and first time made appointments for myself and my mom the service was lacking big time and the second time when my sister and I went we did not have appointments however we arrived together and I sat waiting for my mani pedi for 50 minutes at 30 minute wait I said I only needed a manicure due to time loss so when the technician who came to do my nails said "you only want manicure?" She then said something in Vietnamese and then simply turned around and left me sitting there. Due to the way they conduct their business (all techs working for themselves) the take your slip of paper you write your name and service desired then they put it up on a clip board in order of arrival and the Techs go there and pull the skip,there really is a lack of oversight on customer service. In addition I ALWAYS bring my own Polish because nearly all of theirs are old and dirty! They do provide great shoulder massage for extra but after the way I was treated last time I'm done! I hate to write this review because I truly felt bad for the young guy doing my nails. But, when I am paying full price for my mani and pedi, I expect to have someone who knows what they're doing. My pedi was fine because an experienced woman was doing my feet. But a young man (that was probably doing his first gel mani) did a horrible job. He filed my nails down so far I barely have a nail left. The paint job is probably the worst gel job I have ever had. I did not speak up because I couldn't have that confrontation face to face. Definitely not what I wanted when I was looking forward to having my nails done for a long time. Now, just disappointed looking at my hands. It would be fine if they asked if he could do my nails for a discounted price, then I would have considered (then rejected, since I really wanted a pristine nail job done today). Or if you are going to have him do my hands then watch him the whole time, correct him, and YOU fix my nails not him. Don't just let it go. Read Less

I've been going to Nailtopia for years and have to say I love the way Tina does my nails.  She uses a precise method of getting the whites perfect (I have gel) and it lasts for 3 weeks or longer every time.  But for me the best thing that has happened in almost 15 years is she finally helped me to get rid of a nail separation on my big thumb.  It is finally re-attached and looking again like a normal nail.  Thank you Tina! I literally left there today so disappointed.  I wanted a french fade acrylic set and they said they didn't know how to do it and then I asked for a design and my nail tech said she didn't know how and only does plain color.  Then she made a mistake and touched one of my nails while it was still wet causing the polish to clump up.  I was like HELLO can you fix that and then she just put tons of gel nail polish over it so now I have a big lump on my thumb nail?.  My acrylic set was completely uneven in shape, there was polish on my cuticles.  I feel just so let down.  I told my nail tech that I didn't like the job and she told me to come back in 3 days and she will take the set off.  I am just going to go somewhere else and never ever ever ever go back to this establishment. They all spoke Vietnamese and that bothers me because I don't know what they are saying, but I did notice they were talking about my and my group. Not professional, ladies! But more so, they rushed me and did not take their time on my nails. It looks like my nails have grown out and I just got them done, even after I let her know to go closer to the cuticle. My pedicure, Nancy was wonderful and I would go back for her.Please learn some respect and please, if you're going to rush my service, at least be able to do a decent job, I am paying a lot of money. I've gotten my nails done here three times now, once for acrylics, twice for fill and pedicure. The first two times I walked in, and I will say there seems to be a difference in service between walking in and having an appointment. The first time I saw Tammy. She was honest with me about her skill level when I asked her for a complicated design, but she worked through it with nice results. The first set was a bit lumpy and uneven, but I tipped her well with the intent of returning with an appointment to ensure she had time to focus on her work, as she seemed skilled and knowledgeable, just rushed.In a rush to get a fill before an event, I walked in about three weeks later and had another girl do my fill. She was rough with my hands and cut my cuticle so deeply with the dremel my finger bled and she had to stop to rinse it off. Admittedly, I almost didn't return after this visit, but I was still confident in Tammy, so about three weeks later I called and made an appointment for a fill with her.My intuition paid off! Tammy was lovely and relaxed in my appointment. My nails came out absolutely gorgeous, and I couldn't be happier. I'll have to have my set removed next time, as my nails are growing out too much underneath, but each fill has lasted three weeks or more with little issue. I will say the pedicures are relatively lack luster, and on one occasion I had a pedicure added while I waited for an acrylic tech to be available. I didn't mind because I was considering a pedicure anyway, but this may be a negative to those who don't like to be up sold. I get pedicures for hygienic purposes, so they suit me just fine, they just don't seem particularly impressive.So learn from my mistakes! Go in and find a nail tech you like, then schedule appointments to see them instead of walking in! Each girl charges differently, so make sure you check the price with your tech before you get your service, but they all offer very reasonable prices. Overall, I'm very happy with this location. I recently just started getting my nails done. I'm always super picky, always looking for the best price. Most nail places will charge +$45 for a new set of acrylics... I've been over charged so many times , I almost gave up in finding the right nail place.I'm THAT person that goes in yelp to help me find the best place. This place was a word of mouth so I gave it a try...and I love it. I will most definitely be coming back here I'm the future. I had Lannie do my nails and she was fast, sweet, very polite and nice.
