Had the most frustrating clusterf!@#$%ck of a mani experience here. I was a walk-in for a classic mani for natural nails -- an easy thing, one would think -- and it was bad, start to finish. The manicurist they gave me didn't listen to anything I said, would talk over me with "yeah, yeah," and argued with me the entire time. First she asked the normal, "just file?" and I said no, I'd like a very little bit cut. She cut my entire pinky nail off without asking me how much she should take off! I had to fight her to get my hand back to even look at it. I told her it was too much and she was more careful with the rest but left the right hand 1/8" longer than the left. I asked for very square, exactly like the nails I walked in with; she rounded the tip. I finally asked for the file and re-shaped them all myself. She forgot to use cuticle remover on the first hand and didn't push them back at all... though she barely touched me with the nipper, so it's not like it made much difference. I still have excess dry skin around my nails. As she began to polish, I showed her some oil left on a nail, she said "yeah, yeah," and put more alcohol on my still dry, shaggy cuticles, which didn't remove the oil. I guess she gave up the 2nd time I told her because she just put a dehydrator -- that's normally used under acrylic nails -- on top of the oil and applied base coat over it.The selection of lighter and sheer nail colors is very limited at this location. They have tons of gel but the regular polish selection isn't as good. I'd told her I wanted sheer, her reply was "yes, yes, very sheer." As I watched her apply it, not only was she putting on a fairly thick first coat, she left a noticeable space between the polish and cuticle. The nail looked like it had grown out already!! I asked her to please polish up to the cuticle so the mani lasted more than a couple days and she argued with me that it was up to the cuticle... but she knew I was correct, as she put the 2nd (and 3rd! -- more on that later) on a bit better. Apparently, she hadn't washed her hands after her previous client because somehow I ended up with someone else's glitter all over my skin that I asked her to please swipe away. I also ended up with blotches of polish on the palms of my hands and sides of fingers because as she would use her own nails to clean the enormous amount of excess polish from my cuticles, she wouldn't wipe it off herself and then got it on me. I was a sticky mess. Despite my telling her I wanted a sheer mani, she put on three coats of polish, making it very milky, almost opaque... which took forever to dry. She also bumped into two of the nails, so those had to be completely re-done. No offer of a fan or curing lamp, no thank-you at the end, she just said "okay, " and walked away when she was done. I'd paid before she polished and, even though I wasn't happy with the job up to that point, and had to talk her through fixing every step, gave her a 20% tip because it's the holidays...the tip didn't inspire her to do a better job on the rest, though. All in all, just a bad experience start to finish. I took a chance on this place as I was picking something up at Erewhon and thought, "why not?" I realize not all the employees here are likely as bad as the one I got but I still won't be back. Read Less
