Horrible place. Avoid by all means. This review is based on my second visit here. I resorted to this shop because I actually work down the block and had about an hour to kill for my lunch break. I really needed to get my nails done since I had a birthday event to attend to that night and I figured my first visit wasn't too bad, so why not?Badly mistaken. The shop was not even busy- only one other customer was there (it was mid-afternoon on a Friday). They had plenty of workers available and they just HAD to assign a newbie to work on me.First of all, let me make this clear. I don't normally mind new workers training on me. As a matter of fact, sometimes I think they're actually better than the veterans because they're probably more likely to take the time to make sure everything was done nicely and correctly. Now, moving on, how did I know she was a newbie? She put OIL on my nails BEFORE putting on the gel nail polish. I'm no pro at doing nails, and I don't know what products conflict with what, but at first I thought, "Hey, she's taking an extra step to make my nails look nice. Okay, okay. That was good of her." But then she moved on to painting my nails (where the paint job was only subpar) and when I stuck my hand underneath the UV light, the gel polish started shrinking right on my nails! She inspected my nails and kept on fussing on why it was doing that. She reached out to the owner of the shop and they both exchanged a conversation about what was done. The owner merely said to me in one short phrase (I wouldn't even say it was a complete sentence) that my girl put on the oil when she wasn't supposed to. I told her "Oh, that's fine" while thinking all in my head that she'll be removing that first layer to redo it correctly the second time around.NOPE. The owner swatted away my girl to grab--sorry I meant to type PULL-- my hands towards her and roughly wipe my nails with a cotton ball soaked with alcohol. Now we all know gel nail polish doesn't come off like that... The only intention with that was to take the oil off. After the owner was done half-assing on the wiping, my hands were tossed back to my girl, where she proceeded to paint two more layers ON TOP of the messed up layer.Oh my god... You wouldn't believe how repulsed I was. Either way, I didn't say a word. I was still nice to her and smiled through it. I thought, "Maybe they'll charge me less." Heck, I work in customer service and I would extend that courtesy knowing how I messed up!Again, NOPE. I was still charged the full price, with no apology and no explanation from my girl or even another acknowledgement from the owner.Just a FYI, I still typed my girl 20%. I figured, she's new, I don't want to ruin her confidence. How I regret that. Today I am writing this review a few days later. And my nails are completely bare. For the most part, the gel nail polish did not stay on, and the ones that did, were lousy. I paid $30 something dollars just to go through this horrible experience and to have them taken off by someone else. Read Less
