I started going to Polished years ago and went for several years. I knew all the girls. I left because the old owner was rude to me. When the shop changed owners and was ultimately remodeled I returned. It was ok. I went back and forth to different people now and then and then I randomly was matched with Helen. Woah. Helen cares. Helen has to make herself happy first when she does your nails and if she is happy you are happy for sure. She is meticulous and definitely an expert in acrylic nails. She is the best. I know sometimes she is taking a little longer with me and that's because she is making me happy. She is making sure I return in two weeks she is making sure I have the best nails possible right down to the perfect color and no air bubbles.  Please ask for Helen fir your acrylics so she stays busy but leave time for me every two weeks because I cannot live without her!  Oh. I just got a pedi and mani here, and I loved it! Seriously, compared to other nail salons, Polished has a nicer ambiance and is a lot cleaner. The employees there don't talk all loud either. Plus, they take their time on you. At other places I'd feel as though they're rushing me out so that they can get to the next customer. I decided to bring my cousin who was from another state to get her nails done at this salon because the next day was her wedding. I also brought two other girls who had flown in that day from Europe for the wedding. I specifically brought them to this place because it looked like a higher quality/clean place. And honestly I wanted them to get top quality service. Little did I know, that the people working there were very rude and would do a terrible job. The bride's nails luckily turned out okay. My nails were horrific and uneven. The lady I had was so mean. I had cuts above almost every nail. My nails were uneven. My friend from Europe didn't know English, so she had me translate to her lady that her nails were too long and she wants it filed down a bit. The lady doing her nails straight out said ""No, this is all I can do, I'm not going to do anything else"" I was in utter shock of how rude she was being. My friends nails were so obviously uneven!!!!! We spent a total of $250 that day and they treated us like dirt. I left a letter for the manager, I didn't want free service or a discount or anything of that sort(bc I would never go to that place again) I just wanted the manager know that it's not really nice that her workers are treating their customers badly especially when they spend so much money. I wanted her to call me and acknowledge that she recieved the letter....but of course, she never called. I don't recommend this place at all. They over charge you for a crappy job. They are absolutely rude. They talk on their phone the whole time they are doing your nails. They give you attitude when you ask them to do a specific thing. This place is good if you're just looking for a basic manicure or pedicure at a decent price (at a clean salon), but it's not a relaxing boutique or spa or anything of the sort. Also, you can set an appointment but they have a sign posted that saying that times are not guaranteed. I had an appointment for 3 girls together, and two of the girls had to wait 20 minutes (and we were on opposite sides of the room). Not a big deal, but I had expected we would be together considering we made an appointment!! In terms of the service - we all had pretty good pedicures. The other two had good manicures - my manicurist was in a hurry and it was pretty sloppy. I asked her to redo one of my nails (since it had bubbles) and the redo was even worse. The staff here ar all friendly and competent - I live in San Pedro, but used to live in Burbank. I haven't found a place in my new home area that does as good a job as SP in Burbank - so I drive from SP to Burbank to have my nails done at this fantastic salon!
