I was so excited to finally get to visit Olive & June as I don't live in LA and was visiting with one of my best friends who came all the way from London. I heard amazing things and had a great experience over the phone booking our appointments. Traffic and parking in LA is terrible and we were concerned that we would be a few minutes late so we called to let them know. The woman on the phone was not understanding nor appreciative of the heads up and instead let us know if we were more than 10 minutes late, our spots would be given up since they were fully booked. When we arrived to the salon (after literally sprinting there from the parking lot so we didn't miss our appointments), we gave them our selections of color and art, and were immediately told that since we didn't book time for nail art, we were only able to do a basic, one-color manicure. This was super upsetting as no one had asked me about nail art time over the phone even though I spoke with multiple associates and I was planning on spending more than I normally do on a gel manicure specifically because of the nail art. I decided to shrug it off and still enjoy myself, but the woman who was doing my nails was nice enough, but very stand-offish and blatantly ignored me when I was talking to her. I still decided to enjoy my experience with my friend and tried not to think about it negatively and enjoyed the rest of my vacation.Over the weekend, my friend noticed that her nail polish was peeling in the corner of her finger and then yesterday, (exactly one week after we got our gel manicures), her polish peeled all the way off on one finger and has started peeling on other fingers. I know that we are all human and I'm not blaming an individual for this, but I would have expected better quality, especially due to the price and guidelines of the salon. Let me start by saying that the actual salon is very clean and cute but everything else was beyond horrible. I booked an appointment for a gel manicure and I had gel polish with a jewel on both middle fingers from a previous manicure. Instead of soaking my nail in acetone or wrapping the nail with foil, my manicurist decided to use nail clippers/ cuticle nippers to pry the jewel off of my nail. When I told her that it hurt, she looked at me and laughed a bit. At that moment she should have wrapped my nail in polish remover, but she continued to pry the jewel off taking part of my nail with it. There was a lot of pain and my nails were thin and brittle after. Usually I get gel polish because it lasts longer and doesn't chip. I have had gel polish at different salons that have lasted at least a month without chipping. This polish didn't even last a week before the polish chipped. Overrated. Basic nails, basic everything...uncomfortable chairs but the chairs the nail techs are in look even more uncomfortable. I felt bad for them the whole time hunched over in a tiny had metal chair...limited selection of nail colors. I wasn't offered anything to drink. I inquired about a receipt but I wasn't given a receipt, I would have accepted an emailed one. The gal who did my nails was nice so that's why they get the one star. Miserable looking desk greeters. Everyone around me offered something to drink. Not me. Everyone around me asked to fill out a form. Not me. Chairs not comfortable. Gel mani was excellent though and lasted two weeks. Pedicure excellent too. I paid for pedi with a gift card, mani with money. Desk girl looked down her nose at the gift card. Olive and June is all style, no substance.  Yes, their website is beautiful and makes you think you are going to enter an oasis where you are warmly welcomed into a relaxing environment and offered a drink when you sit down.  This is not the case.  You will be greeted lukewarmly with or without eye contact.  You won't be offered a beverage when people next to you are being offered one.  You will most likely have a wait even though you have an appointment.  My pedicure started 13 minutes late this time around and I never expect to be taken in right away.  I agree with others that say this salon has a very cold feel to it.  When I checked out the front desk person asked me how my pedicure was while looking down at her papers.  Please, don't even ask if you aren't even going to pretend to care! A group of us came here as part of a bachelorette weekend and had a great experience. It is beautiful and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accommodating for our group. The bride to be had some great nail art done for the wedding and it felt like a special experience. This business is adding 10% surcharge as of January 2018 to all of the customer bills. This follows trend to the Restaurants adding on a surcharge to pay for employee salaries. The 10% goes to acquiring the manicurists as full time employees. Why should the public pay for businesses to pay their employees?  We are already paying top $ in LA County for services. Love this place! It's modern boho. The employees are ON IT! The moment you are through the door they get you seated right away. They are a punctual salon, when you make an appointment you can't be late. They were kind enough to reschedule us the next day when we were ten minutes late. They explained they couldn't accommodate because that would make others late. They were so kind, when we returned the next day they had everything set up and ready. I've been to Beverly Hills Nail Design, Q Salon, and one other. But this one is my favorite, and my go to in the summer. They do not do Acrylic so be warned. I was excited to experience Olive & June based on their Instagram exposure. However, I was extremely underwhelmed and quite frankly disappointed with the overall experience. Pros: Online booking is easy. There is complimentary 2-Hour garage parking directly across the street, which is convenient. Their regular polish selection is upscale and nicely displayed- includes Deborah Lippmann, Chanel, etc. A Good variety of Gel colors available too. The staff is friendly, including the technicians. The finished product is clean and looks professional. Hot tea and water!Cons: Manicure and pedicure done at the same time. -You can't relax, you can't read (uncomfortable reaching opposite arm across your body for an extended period of time.) It would have been nice to have been notified the treatments are done simultaneously when booking. Uncomfortable chairs and pedicure water basin. I spent time to fill out a new client form and the information I included on the form was not referenced throughout my visit. The salon is so LOUD. Between several different conversations and the vacuuming between appointments, it is not a relaxing environment at all. It's also showing some wear and tear.My experience took place while the owner was in the salon, so I imagine this is business as usual.  Before I left, I asked if I was settled up, even included a tip and to sign. I was told I was all taken care of. I received a call and voicemail later that evening that the charge was still open. (Great, I love having my credit card available for additional charges). These girls are fabulous and so talented! They took my bridal party & totally transformed them on my special day. They took time to listen to every bridesmaids wants & needs in hair and makeup and certainly delivered! This is absolutely where you need to get your bridal hair & makeup done. Aesthetically pleasing and super chic decor; however customer service left a lot to be desired. It felt like a nail services factory, churning people in and out; as soon as one customer wraps up, they are fluffing and flipping the pillows, and vacuuming underneath the seat immediately. Very distracting and noisy. No one made me feel welcome as if was my first time, and I was only offered water halfway thru my service. I got the Chrissy (gel mani) with nail art on each finger = $115; and the Margot (pedicure). My manicure was obviously really expensive; however, I am happy with the service and felt that the technician (Esmelda) did a very thorough and excellent job. While the nail tech who did my pedicure was nice - if I'm paying $50 for a service, I certainly expect it to be longer than 20 minutes. I assumed that both services, especially the pedicure, would be more relaxing and pampering. I'm not sure that I could really tell a difference between O+J and any other salon in LA. Disappointed because I've known about them for years and finally made an appointment to go. I'm from NJ and when I found out I was going to LA for the first time, I could not WAIT to get an Olive and June mani! Your app is a little glitchy, so I ended up having to call. The booking process was quick and professional. I was greeted by smiley, friendly young ladies upon entering the salon and everything from check in to paying was seamless! I LOVE my nails! Even though Jenny was amazing, this place was not relaxing at all.   If it weren't for Jenny, I would give this place one star unfortunately.1) The receptionist was very short.  I'm not sure she smiled once which is so important in making you feel welcome and relaxed after trying to find parking and getting there in time. 2) I was not offered even a glass of water.  I'm not sure if anyone around me was offered anything to drink.  For the amount one is paying for a service, just a glass of water would be nice.3) At checkout, the receptionist and the person seating people/cleaning up discussed in front of me if my nails had art done to them and if I should get charged more for it.  I said Jenny said it would be the same price as the service I booked.  It was good that the seater said that if Jenny said that, that's good with them.  But then the receptionist said something underneath her breath to the seater about Jenny which made me feel awkward.  I hope Jenny doesn't get in trouble over this.4) This place is loud.  They pack everyone in, and there's a lot of shuffling around.  Of course, a lot of conversations are happening as well.Again, Jenny did a great job, but everything else was a hot mess. As a first time customer I can say that this place is very strange and it does not operate like a typical salon.While the salon is very aesthetically pleasing, the women are quite cold. I'm not sure if that's because they are in Beverly Hills, but it made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.I got a gel mani and a regular pedi. When the tech came over with a bucket of water, I put my feet in and it was SCALDING! Not quite the relaxing experience I'd hoped for. After this mishap, it was smooth sailing in terms of the quality of the nails. Both of my nail techs did a great job on my nails. However, the customer service experience I received left a lot to be desired. No one offered me a glass of water - when all the women around me were offered one. No one tried to make me feel comfortable, especially considering it was my first time. When it came time to pay, I was not even told an amount. She just asked for my card. That was it. When I asked for a receipt she responded with "we don't do that here." If I didn't have online banking I would have absolutely no idea how much my service cost. As a consumer it is my right to know how much I have paid for a service! Common sense!!I do realize that I might be a little too picky, but at their prices the women in the salon should be treated like queens! This place should be pampering me and not making me feel like I'm walking on egg shells! Although I do like my nails, I'm not quite sure I'll return. I had really high hopes for this salon and wasn't really blown away. Which is totally fine and I think why it's so popular is because of it's mega girly ambiance. Visually, it's adorable! I was surprised to see the nail polish color choice wall was scarce with options. It looked very bare and for the popular color choices all the nail polishes were near empty. Unfortunately, it looks very unappealing and a little discouraging. When I had called to make an appointment, the receptionist was very cold. No smile in her voice and didn't make any attempt to be friendly. However when we walked in, the receptionist was much more personable.One thing I will say that my sister and I could not get over is how glacial the temperature was. By the middle of our nail service, we were both chilled to the bone and neither technicians offered to adjust it. Maybe it's a company standard but, they should forewarn their customers to bring a sweater with them! Sam did our designs and she was delightful. The decor and the staff are great. The downside is paying $90 for a mani / pedi and then having to sit in the corner and wait for ONE plug in dryer that, when you get to finally use it, is at an uncomfortably low height. The process of getting your nails done is perfection but the process of waiting (small cramped space) and drying (inadequate area and service) desperately needs to be worked out. Disappointing to pay so much for a beautiful manicure to then be kicked into a corner waiting in line for a single dryer that is supposed to adequately supply the entire salon...maybe they should focus on perfecting the process of getting your nails/toes done before launching their own pair of sandals. OKAY so I totally get the hype behind this adorable spot. I brought my friend from Utah and we both got cute nails since we'd heard a lot about it/wanted to try. If I reviewed this RIGHT after I got it: I would say AMAZING. My manicurist was super friendly and although my friends' messed up on her nails mine went over and fixed hers. 5 stars for service because she was amazing. NOW: 2 days after my manicure an entire 2 fingers were bare from the polish just coming right off!! I paid $50 for a 2 day mani. What's worse is my friends mani didn't even last 24 hours. She was on vacation and not even doing dishes/other stuff. Not ok! I've used Essie on my own and have had polish last wayyyy longer than this. Located on a busy Beverly Hills street nestled in between famous stores and restaurants is this great nail salon. Store: they have a handful of semi comfy chairs (no massage chairs) where your mani & pedi take place. As you enter they have a wall of high end nail polishes that consist of about ten different brands. Think Nars and & other stories. Service: prices run high given the location but they do a solid job and do great nail designs if that's your thing. Parking: lots of meters but good luck with that. This is a nicer Beverly Hills nail salon to visit if you're looking for something a little more classy. Took a friend here to celebrate her pregnancy and it was a good experience all around. I have been going to Melinda for my hair for years now and I can honestly say I am NEVER disappointed. Not only is she the friendliest and kindest person, her work speaks volumes. I am the type of person who constantly loves to change her hair to blonde to dark to ombre to extensions to Brazilian blowouts.... And she nails it every time. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Even a year I lived in NJ I would travel to CT just so she would do my hair, because she is just that good! I suggest Melinda and her team because of how personable they are to each and every client. The design of this place is wonderful! It has a clean, modern, earthy design that doesn't look like any typical nail shop, down to the "spa equipment" they use. It was really refreshing getting a mani/pedi in this type of environment. Everyone that works there is very friendly and are great hosts. On your first visit, they have you feel out a profile to get to know you and your nails better so that there is some individualization to their services. The manicurists are very diverse and pretty hip/artsy, young, older, asian, black, white. They are personable and seem to try to engage you in good convo. My experience would have been great if it weren't for the fact I came out of there with a few cut up cuticles. The woman who did my pedicure cut my cuticle twice, so that wasn't cool. I came in there for a relaxing not a painful experience. Other than that I definitely recommend this place if you're interested in more of a chic boutique nail place. Read Less
