Very average considering how expensive it was ($45 for gel manicure). I wouldn't say it was bad, but it was a definite "meh." I've gotten better looking manicures and experiences at cheaper places. Sucks big time. I called them before I go in and they said walk-ins are welcome. They didn't even suggest that it's preferable to make an appointment. Yesterday was my first time ever coming to Nail Bar & Beauty Lounge. My best friend and I were looking for a new nail salon. After searching through yelp and Groupon, I was going to try  another nail place that was closer to my house but when I called the person who picked up was so rude that I decided to try Nail Bar & Beauty Lounge instead. I called to see if they had any availability. Roy picked up and was so sweet and friendly and assured me that when we arrived we would be taken care of. It was because of Roys warm personality that we decided to try this place out. I get there and was instantly greeted by such a friendly staff. Let me begin by telling you, the place is stunning. Half serves as a nail salon and the other as a hair salon. We were instantly sat and offered water, wine, and coffee. My technicians name were Mira and Anna. they did such a fantastic job. they were patient ( because I could not decide which color I wanted) and honest on their thoughts about designs. Mira helped me pick out a design and gave me different options. When I was finished and ready to pay, I was assisted by Maria the receptionist. She has such a vibrant and sweet personality and was kind enough to honor the Groupon price.  Usually at nails salons you feel rushed and the technicians are rude and have no patience. But not here. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were given nothing but the top notch service. The staff at Nail Bar & Beauty lounge made me feel like family. Came here for the first time using a groupon deal for a gel manicure. I made an appointment and came in with no wait. I was greeted with a friendly staff and wonderful decor to look at. This place is also a salon on the other half of the store. Place look clean and staff were all kind. My nail technician was very patient and took her time and made sure i was satisfied with the shape and color. Planning to come back again for a mani - pedi. Not sure why there is such negative reviews . In reference to nail services : I have been MULTIPLE times now and couldn't be happier with this business . 1. Yes I have had to wait sometimes , however - they handle it with such care and update me every serval minutes it's hard to be mad . * when you get your nails done and see how they will go above and beyond , to give you perfect style and make you comfortable you understand how one can easily run behind sometimes . * the recep (Jenna) even gave me money to put in my meter because it was a little longer than expected . 2. The coffee and water comes to you before you even have to ask . (The owner went and bought me coffee once be a use the cream just ran out , best coffee ever btw  ) 3 my nails are so perfect and last me forever and a day ! 4. Over booked. Made me wait 1h. No water, coffee, magazine offered.. looks nice and chairs are cozy but need to be more mindful of not taking client and make them wait so long. I had to wait AGAIN in between my manicure and pedicure to have another staff member available.. at the end I spent 3 hours there for a mani pedi.. Overly priced for services that are not so fabulous. I went in for a pedicure and asked for rhinestones, the lady told me no I don't do that. (your a nail shop how do you not have rhinestones?????) I didn't get a scrub with my pedicure, apparently it's extra so they soaked my feet and put lotion. But they never asked me if I would like scrub, I would have paid extra if I was told it did not come with a regular pedicure.  The lady doing my nails, did do a really good job in shape but they broke off so quickly.  All in all I just wasn't happy with the outcome. I normally don’t leave reviews but here goes . The concept of a bar and stage while you get your nails done is AMAZING but the customer service skill are TERRIBLE. I got my nails done and wanted a square round finish and the nail tech filed it so much I barely had any nail left. She didn’t care when I mentioned it to her. Just preceded to file more. I went on to get a pedicure I told the lady to do ONE toe so I could see she preceded to do them all. I suspect she doesn’t speak English very well. When I said I didn’t like it she gave me the biggest and longest eye roll I have ever seen. She took the polish off a repolished my toes and walked off without a word to me. I had to find the drier on my own. There was another dissatisfied customer while I was there who was cursing about it to her friend. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NO TALENT. A pretty salon but so disappointing. I saw reviews and was super excited, and booked my blowout.  However, after waiting for 20 min before someone shampooed my hair and clearly overheating a booking issue it just wasn't a good experience.I had booked through an application, and prepaid hoping that would ease the entire process along. I arrived and was very kindly greeted. The receptionist was nothing but a sweetheart. She went over to a stylist and told them their 4 o'clock was there to be told he didn't have one...the salon even called me to confirm. Out of panic she went to her supervisor the correct thing to do, and they threw in a free mask, but let's think about this part NYE someone books an appointment and is kept waiting for 20 min...I could have had a party to get to or some event...granted I booked with enough wiggle room but still not okay.My stylist was sweet; not the one who said they didn't have a 4 o'clock appointment...and her service was stellar she was shy but also new to LA so not tons of chitchat. But really she did a wonderful job. Overall can't fault her, and thankful she jumped in when no one was available.This was my first trip to this salon, and it was looking so promising until I was left waiting for 20 min and then waiting at the sink with a mask for another 10 min...were results there yes but the service fell through in logistics when I was double booked.Not sure if I will give this place another shot...we will just have to see... Went here because a friend recommended them, just for acrylic and pedicure. They do a good job here but it was  unwelcome to ask for special details or designs for you nails. At least that's how it seemed...which is shocking because my friend always gets really cool nail art here. The front desk was so sweet and nice, they bring you coffee or water while you wait. I think I just need a recommendation for someone who likes to be creative and do something fun. Every nail place I've ever been to usually try's to up-sell my manicure, these girls didn't, and I would have definitely went over the top and been happy to pay extra for it. Made an appointment for 5:00 But they made me wait until 5:30... worse than a walk in. Then they got my service wrong even though I called earlier to make a specific type of reservation. At the salon, I told them twice I was not getting acrylic nails and yet they kept reassuring me that the girl who did acrylics was almost ready for me.When I finally sat down, they did not offer me a beverage so I asked for tea but of course they forgot... twice. Also they kept asking me what was my name again... and again... and again! A sure fire way to make your clients feel valued. Maybe because I came in sweats but they did not treat me well as a first time customer. Obviously, I will not be returning. The nail techs are good but the business is sketchy.See the attached photo. A $1 tip was added without my knowledge after I was told the total for a regular pedicure was $26. I was then prompted to add a tip and sign on an iPad that had no indication that an additional $1 "tip" was added. My friend also had this same phantom charge on her receipt. This is my least favorite nail salon I have been too. If you are looking for a relaxing place I do not recommend this nail salon. The receptionist was pleasure but the nail technician who did my pedicure was horrible. She never asked if I would like a drink or cookies when they were offered to everybody else. The pedicure I chose was supposed to include a hot oil  and hot towel massage which I never received. When I mentioned that to The Nail Tech she got up and said I'm finished and walked away. Plus the salon chairs and what you soak your feet in did not seem sanitized/clean. The music that they were playing was more for a ghetto nightclub and they had bottles of half-empty hard liquor sitting in the open. I do not recommend anybody taking their children or mothers there. WOAH !!!! For my first time here I was soooo shocked! I'm so used to getting my nails done in the valley where it's just your basic customer service. Here your greeted with smiles and the employees go above and beyond for the customers, they serve drinks and make you feel as comfortable as they can. Definitely a good spot for nails. I had a blowout here which was great! And the only reason I made this a three star review. My manicure was really bad. This is how it looked the following day when everything had set. Cuticles have merely been quickly touched up but it's more the paint than looks horrible. Really disappointing - I don't know if it's old polish or bad technique. Either way, don't waste your time. To be honest, the pictures make this place look more fancy than it is. While the big white chairs are beautiful, the whole place is a bit out-dated and could use a face lift. It didn't have the massage chairs or TVs that I am used to enjoying in nail salons so I was a bit bored while sitting there. I know that might sound bad but when I'm paying a lot to get my nails done I love to relax and watch cooking shows or something.I will say it was a major plus that I had women working on my hands and feet at the same time, so I was done quickly. They did a great job and I loved how my nails looked! Bravo! ATTENTION: Those seeking beauty salon services for things such as GRADUATION/PROM/ETC: Don't go here. I drove to this seemingly fine establishment on June 14th to get a mani/pedi for the special occasion of my graduation ceremony. Upon my arrival, the staff was very inattentive and indifferent to me although I had scheduled an appointment beforehand. I asked for the color palette of their gel nail polishes; very unimpressive colors. I saw that they had chrome available and they told me they could do it in gel also, so I went with that. I had two women working on my hands and feet. Told them I wanted rose gold chrome. They said okay. I noticed that they couldn't find the correct chrome powder and continued to cover my nails with whatever color they thought would work. They put red gel nail polish as a base and then proceeded to see if that would work with chrome over it. After multiple attempts in terms of trial and error on their end, I gave up trying to tell them what I want. It seemed odd for such a high-end nail salon to be messing up as bad as they were, so I let it go. The result of this was that: 1. The chrome was not chrome, (besides on one toe) it was a grainy metallic color instead of the reflective chrome color I wanted & intended to pay for. 2. It was not the rose gold shade I asked for3. It took 2 hours when they told me it would be 1 hour, making me late for something that evening. 4. The red color underneath began to show significantly the very next morning, meaning that the chrome came off in certain areas of my nails making it look like I had been eating hot cheetos all night. 5. My left toe nails & my right toe nails look significantly different: my left big toe has a notable chrome finish and my right toes have a sparkly/grainy finish, looking very odd. I am not one to write unnecessary reviews, but considering how extremely rude and indifferent the staff was in addition to the owner having a huge fit when I asked for a refund & complained about this to her, I was angry and said if they did not fix the issue, I will f*ck up their Yelp/IG reviews which she flipped out about. You'll understand why I ended up writing this as you read on. When I arrived to speak to the owner Jen, on June 16th, her & her employees berated me & did not want to hear what I had to say & at least attempt to understand why my nails were not done correctly. She took one fast look at my hands, not even paying attention to my toes claiming "it's not that bad". An irrelevant employee from the hair salon portion said I came in a day too late saying that they don't know where my hands & feet may have been & to that I say, I got "gel chrome" done buddy & it was messed up within a few hours in terms of chipping. The purpose of the more expensive gel nail polish is that it lasts from 2-3 weeks without chipping & besides that the color was wrong too. So as a rational and logical human being, I stand by my opinion of my complaints being justified. I made the drive when it was reasonable & soon enough. Got it done on the 14th and went back on the 16th, the busy day of my graduation ceremony (talk about inconvenient). Following this exchange, the owner told me that she "challenges" me to write a negative Yelp review & to see what happens if I do & that it will not be beneficial for me. I freaked out & apologized to them saying that I will not leave a bad review. However with all of these events occurring, I still do not find it acceptable in the slightest to stay quiet about this. I had a very strange experience at this place. I would not have addressed the issue as assertively as I did had the staff been more attentive & nice the first time around. I only requested a refund because anything else such as another service from this company, I simply could not trust that this establishment would deliver better results the second time around. This is an extremely awful nail salon. It isn't sanitary, they do not use a plastic lining for their foot spas, the water was not even on the hot side let alone lukewarm, they didn't soak my hands for the manicure (never been to a salon that hasn't). They are exceedingly overpriced solely due to the fact that their standards of quality for their service is equivalent to nails you'd get done by your 12 year old cousin in a garage. It is undeniably absurd to pay so much and receive this type of service and result. I am appalled at their deliberate carelessness in terms of resolving the issue. I do not hope to gain anything for myself from leaving this review, but only to be honest & let people who read the reviews for this business know the truth. I paid about $143 for what you see in the pictures. By the way, look the at Yelp review of the lady who got a scalp infection from this salon... New to LA. Shamelessly found this place on Ariel Winter's Instagram page. Maybe it was my bad in not researching a good nail tech, but I made an appointment and showed up. I was not offered water or anything but escorted to a shitty counter in the back like I wasn't important enough to be seen. It was super awkward to sit there, super high stool with a shallow top so you had to either straddle the base of the counter or sit astride it. The nail tech who did not introduce herself, or ask my name, made the only effort in having a personality and asked if I wanted to move. I immediately took her up on it and we moved. The nail job was sloppy at best and she used gloves the entire time which always gives me the eebie jeebies to the touch. I was hoping they would come up with a design for me (second my bad to not have one already prepared, but this is LA, I assumed they'd have that in the bag), so we settled on a base triangle. This ended up more raised than the rest of the nail which looks totally sloppy up close. There's folds at the nail bed which is an amateur mistake. We never spoke once. She didn't care about me coming back, which is probably a mutually agreed upon realization by now, and didn't ensure I liked the finished project. The owner is the most disrespectful, crazy, rude human being I have ever encountered. She schedules appointments and then you arrive tells you that you are there at the wrong time even when she sends confirmation texts stating the time you have to be there. Instead of apologizing she yells in front of everyone and says that you (the client) doesn't remember even with the text as proof. She forces you to do your service with who she decides even if you have a preference. Just a nasty, miserable person. I rather pay three times as much and never go there again. Hands down. Worst hair cut of my life. The stylist Eli totally ruined my hair. Now I have to go somewhere else to fix it. It's uneven and looks like I cut it myself. He spent about 15 minutes cutting my hair and he didn't even ask my opinion afterwards. My hair was really long and he cut way more than I asked him too as well. When he washed my hair the water ran into my eyes and I felt like a kid being punished to take a bath. I would have to say probably up there with worst customer service ever! Found this place via a Gilt City deal - $24 for a manicure and pedicure ($35 value - paid less of course with additional % off offer).  It's a nice large salon in Beverly Hills...  cool black and white decor with skulls scattered about (felt like my living room honestly).  Made appointment over the phone.  Service was fast and friendly - they were even understanding and very delicate about the sprained ankle I'm still recovering from.   Very clean salon with professional techs...  impressive!  And the regular price for a mani pedi ($35) is not more than a few bucks higher than some of the places on Sunset or Santa Monica that are basically nail mills rather than salons.Good selection of polish from the better brands.  Coffee and water offered to all guests.   Parking is tough...  none of those cool free Bev Hills garages nearby so plan on spending a bit of time looking for street parking.    NOTE - they do take credit cards but CASH ONLY for tips.    So bring some!
