Because of the great Yelp reviews, today I decided to try the 6-month-old Beti Spa near the Claremont Hotel for the dreaded (see below) pedicure. From the moment I walked in, there was a very good vibe: tranquil setting, comfy chairs, and peaceful, happy Linda to welcome me.I started out sharing a warning with Linda about my hypersensitive feet & in-grown toenails: that lovely combo that makes pedicures feel like (for me) the medieval torture chamber. As so many before her have done, Linda assured me I was in good hands ("ya, sure" to self). However, within minutes I realized that I had found THE "Toe Whisperer". She got right to work and no joke, I uttered not a single ouch, wince, or silent scream (which would be the norm for me). In fact, barely felt her skilled hands at work on my toes. Before I knew it, I had pain-free, beautifully pedicured toes. As far as I'm concerned, Linda is my personal Miracle Worker. All you peeps out there with sensitive and/or in-grown toenails: THIS is the Pedicurist you've hoped-for all your life. Yes, she really is THAT good. And just a stone's throw from Claremont Hotel. Just sayin'.Pricing: I expected elevated pricing in this tony neighborhood but Beti Spa is actually LESS expensive than my previous two favorite salons nearby. So TOTAL SCORE: I got both the Toe Whisperer and a fair-priced-pedi -- all in one. Other good to know: Spa is immaculate; Linda provides (free) tea and snacks; street parking is a challenge so give yourself some time (there is a lot across the street, behind Rick & Anns, but only if you're going to pop into R&A's or Peet's for cup of coffee - no validation, at your word). Linda is super-easy to talk with while she works away, but if you don't want to, she totally respects your indulging your iphone, book, or etc if you want to just zone out.Although Linda welcomes walk-ins, I recommend that you call in advance to book your appt (I called 20 min ahead and no problem). Why not make sure you have her undivided attention?!Thank you, Linda! I'm so glad I found you !! And thank you, fellow-Yelpers for the heads-up! Read Less
