I came in with a friend today for a French Gel manicure and a pedicure and in 30 years of having my nails done regularly, my experience with Bella Nails was, hands down, the WORST I've ever experience...
I came in with a friend today for a French Gel manicure and a pedicure and in 30 years of having my nails done regularly, my experience with Bella Nails was, hands down, the WORST I've ever experienced.
They soaked my fingernails in foil for a long time during my pedicure but then when they removed the foil they said I must have had acrylic on my nails. I was surprised by that as I had asked for and thought I received gel at the last place but I guess I didn't. So, ok, what now? The woman didn't seem sure how to get them off so she called the guy at the front desk over and he said they would have to pry them off or soak them off with acetone. I didn't want them pried off so I said well, soak them off with acetone then. I don't know what they had on my fingers before but they just put them directly into the acetone, not washing off whatever they were using before. After a few minutes, my fingernails started to sting and then started really burning. (I wore acrylic nails for 20 years and never had that happen when soaking nails off.) I asked if they could just sand them down and the front desk guy said they didn't have time. He seemed really annoyed and put out and told me that I'd just have to go back to the other place to get them fixed. I had to just sit there and wait for a half an hour with my messed up nails and no one doing anything to try to fix them while they finished my friend's nails. His attitude was pretty shocking frankly. I wasn't rude or pushy, he just clearly didn't care. If this was my business, I would be mortified to have a customer leave with nails looking like how they left mine. Check out the picture and see for yourself.
As if that wasn't enough, my pedicure was sloppy with the paint uneven and paint on my skin. I asked for callous treatment and she barely did anything. My feet still are super calloused, she did a lame, ugly flower on my toes. For that, I was charged $42 and then the front desk guy actually demanded I leave a tip. W.O.W.

I just visited Bella Nails in Belmont for the first time and it was great! I'll be coming back for sure. I called ahead and was able to get a same day appointment, but I think they accepted walk ins while I was there too. The massaging chairs were nice and the two technicians working on my mani pedi were wonderful. The leg massage was a nice touch.

I've been to Bella Nails twice and both times, had a lovely experience. I should mention that I've made appointments both times, so I'm not sure what the walk-in experience is like, but they've been able to see me on fairly short notice when I've called. This last time, I arrived almost a half hour early (due to transit), and they were able to see me almost immediately. I had Lisa for my entire experience (eyebrow wax, manicure, pedicure, and a neck/shoulder rub), and she was clearly very experienced. My eyebrows were done to my satisfaction with a normal amount of waxing pain in less than 10 minutes, I had no incidents with rough tools as some other folks have mentioned despite not having treated myself in five months, and Lisa has excellent hands when it comes to massage. I was thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed myself, even though the entire visit was over in about 90 minutes! One note: they don't have massage chairs as they do in many other nail salons, so the back massage is limited to neck and shoulder, but was still excellent.

I've been having my nails done regularly for many years. After reading the variety of reviews here, I can only say that, in dozens of visits, I've never had some of the negative experiences others have had.The positives:- The ambiance is great. Lots of space, well-maintained- Massage chairs are very comfortable- They always offer complimentary glass of water or tea- I've never had to wait long when I have an appointment- They usually do mani while pedi is being done, saving me time- They always clean up my cuticles- They always give hand and foot massage, even with basic spa service- They do a great job with my nails, even those that are hard to work with The negatives:- At times I have to tell them the water is cold in the foot bath or that I'd like the jets on. This isn't a big deal to me as they always correct it when asked, so still 5 stars in my book

This review is for customer service - I did not get a mani or pedi. I stopped in to get a gift certificate for a friend and the assistant could not have been more pleasanter helpful. She went out of her way to make a nice package for my friend - I wanted to include a bottle of polish, but she apologized and explained that they did not have space for retail, but then went through her inventory to see if she had a new bottle I could include my gift. Unfortunately none of the colors were right, so she then went to the back and grabbed for me new files and buffers to include in the bag to make it cute. I appreciate her effort, and rarely see such in other businesses.

Went here for the first time for a pedicure and will not return. The technician was extremely rough, both in pushing back the cuticles and trimming my nails. One of my big toes is still sore and I can tell by the way she clipped in at one corner that it will probably ingrow. I will have to keep an eye on it and go elsewhere when it starts to grow out. Pedicures can be risky - don't chance it.

My fingers didn't bleed right away but were swollen for the rest of the month. I saw similar comments but thought these are one off cases. The salon clearly doesn't make any effort to train employees to be gentle.What's worse is this person's attitude from the begging. It was like, you should be thankful that I am doing your nails. I can't remember the full name. Something with "J".I don't recommend the manicure. The pedicure person was careful and gentle.Given the discomfort of swollen nails, I still don't plan to go back there.

The lady who gave me my pedicure did a horrendous job. She didn't understand a word of English and could not execute a few simple requests. My toe nails were left looking jagged and I'm pretty sure she caused a few ingrown nails (I will have to get another pedicure soon to correct this). The lady who did my nails cut 2 of my fingers. She made me put pressure on the cut fingers to stop the bleeding and then immediately sprayed it with alcohol which stung very badly. This mani/pedi first $87 BEFORE tip. There are way cheaper places in Belmont that do phenomenal jobs. I only came here because everywhere else was booked. Never again.

I just moved to the area and happened upon this gem in the Redwood City. It smelled like essential oil heaven when I walked in while being pleasantly greeted immediately. I was not rushed to pick out my polishes for gel manicure and pedicure (it always takes me at least 5-10 mins!!), seated in the best massage chair that I never wanted to leave, and immediately had service from 3 women (1 on each hand and 1 doing pedicure). The spa décor was glamourous, yet simple- it reminds me of a 5 star spa I recently visited in Punta Cana, DR. I truly felt like I was on vacation. There was very warm oil rubbed extensively on my hands and arm, also my cuticles look better than ever. They let me stay in the massage chair, reclined, while my toes dried until I was ready to go, without saying a word ( I took my time and felt completely relaxed). Because of the quality and exquisite service, I was afraid the price was going to be outrageous, but I was shocked to check out for $60!!!! Of course, one of the most important things is how my nails and skin look... I have never been so happy with the attention to detail that was taken with my cuticles, perfect polish, and the oil being rubbed into my dry skin. CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. I want to bring all my visiting family and friends here. I see other reviews that talk about it being crowded, but it's because they're awesome. I tried this place last year. When I called to book an appointment I specifically told them ,that I had shellac nail polish. When I got there the the nail tech looked a bit confused ,and started to scrape at my nails, I explained to her they were shellac, but she still seemed confused. I called someone else over, they said something to her, that I didn't understand and she continued to try and get the polish off. I had her stop. I asked for the gentleman at the desk. He told her she was doing it wrong, and told her what to do next. When I first called they told me that, it would be $38 to remove shellac and re-polish my nails. When they were finally finished I went to pay, and the gentleman at the front said it would be $50. I explained to him that, I was quoted 38 over the phone, he told me no,it's shellac and it would be $50. I paid the $50 and never went back.

I usually go on the weekdays as they are very busy on the weekends. Allan knows me and I don't even have to ask for services he just knows what I want. They have a good variety of nail colors as well. VERY CLEAN and good cleaning processes. The technicians are all very friendly - most won't converse with you which in my book is fine. I would rather relax or read my trashy magazine. You can tell them if you want them to scrub hard or soft (my sister is extremely tiskilish and they are good about respecting that. I've had the waxing done once on my face and underarms and it was not painful compared to what I have had done before. They provide water, tea and coffee. Always good service. Allan always has a nice smile to share with you. You feel like a valued customer. HIGHLY recommend this or their San Mateo location. His wife manages that location and she's just as wonderful. Just note they do get busy, make an appointment although he tries to accommodate people.

This place is overpriced and I received one of the worst manicures ever. I don't know how the other woman got out for $47 mani/pedi I was charged $52! And now 4 days later the mani is chipping and cracking along the nail edges. Woman who did it did not apply all layers of polish evenly so there are ridges that are cracking and peeling. None of the women appear to speak English or if they do they use it as an excuse to ignore you the paying client!!!when I went to pay I was informed they only accept cash for tips no upfront warning. So now with wet nails I have to dig into wallet. First and LAST time here!! Back to Eros - less expensive, better quality and far more friendly.

I have given this salon several tries.. customer services is very unpredictable. Most of the women providing the nail treatment present unhappy, sullen and pissed that I am there getting a pedicure.The last time I was there the women doing my pedicure kept pushing my toes down and pulling my foot towards her... she kept adjusting my chair and was just really annoyed kept telling me to "relax"! Which is really challenging when you feel like you are doing something wrong ..oh and yah spending the money that I worked hard for! So I have decided I will relax at another nail salon where I will be treated with dignity and respect as a paying customer!

Been here a couple times mostly for a pedicure. Every time I go I think it will get better. The staff is so very nice and tries to make you happy. Problem is, my nails are always filed down way too...
Been here a couple times mostly for a pedicure. Every time I go I think it will get better. The staff is so very nice and tries to make you happy. Problem is, my nails are always filed down way too far (on top of the nail) and if I take the polish off, the nail is too thin and with white spots. The last time I went, I got a manicure only. She clipped and clipped and then cut me, she just wouldn't stop. She did feel badly but the cut was so bad the bleeding couldn't be stopped. I left with no polish and a $5 discount. There are other options I will explore in the future.

I just got a manicure for a wedding that I am in. I wanted an iridescent gold look. The nail attendant, Trina was impatient and was not listening to what I was attempting to articulate to her. I got pushed into something I was trying to avoid which was a glitter forward metallic (opposite of what I envisioned), however I picked an iridescent color for the top to offset the gold. Clearly Trina did not care to understand what I was trying to do thus she started with the color intended for the top coat. I said something she sighed, told me in a louder tone if I wanted what I described she needed to do that color first. I went with it but the next knew it was turning out exactly how I thought it would; wrong! I thought a second coat may have made it look less glittery so I asked, she rolled her eyes at me! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon and I had to pay 40 dollars for rude service, not to mention will now have to go somewhere else to get the awful color changed.

I am so upset with the fact that the owner of this location did me himself and rushed because he had to make a reservation for dinner. I had to tell him to "make sure you get the sides" with nail polish because he kept missing the sides leaving them bare. And even still he missed spots. I asked him to cut my cuticles and again he did a half ass job and now they are peeling even worse. He also globbed the gel nail polish making them super thick and uneven. Easily the worst gel manicure I've ever gotten and I'm so pissed because they are not cheap.

Yes, as others said it was quite expensive vs other places. But the service received and facilities are excellent. Clean, very clean which is the most important! And the full sets of service received incl mani and pedi are never disappointing. Tried other places in the city and peninsular, yes,half of the price but also got half the service level received. Never regret coming here.

Worst full set expierence I have ever received at a nail salon! I felt very ripped off. It was my first time going this place and I will never go back. My Gel Polish is already chipping off when it never has done this at any other nail salon I have been too. They couldn't even file and shape my nails correctly and they made me do it myself! They literally just gave up and handed me the nail file. This place is way overpriced for the horrible quality and service. I usually don't leave reviews for places but my experience was so bad, I felt like I had to leave one. They must use poor quality gel Polish because it has never chipped or flaked off like this before and I've been getting gel Polish at other nails Salons for over a year. Not just bad quality polishes, but also really bad customer service. I would highly advise not going here. I hope this review helps prevent another customer for being ripped off.

1 star for giving me an appt promptly on the phone. I made a 3:30 appointment and they did not start till 4:15 pm. The water was cold, no one even asked me if I wanted anything or even apologize for making me wait that long. Some people got a neck pillow and others did not. The pedicure was even decent. It was a half assed rush job. No cleaning, cuticle removal. No dead skin heel scrubbing. No buffing of nails. Scrub was done in 20 seconds on both feet. The massage was useless Overall, I was done by 4:35 pm including polish. Just one coat of polish. No, this was not an express pedicure. It was a spa pedicure. I wanted to get some waxing and they made me wait till 5:00 again, despite prompting 2 times. Infact I'm writing this review while I wait for someone to show up in a back room for the past 5 mins. If you care about good service and respect your time, don't go here. This is the first and last time I'll go to any of the Bella Nails places around San Mateo.

You know I use to come here often, but lately I've decided to choose another nail salon around my area. Last time I checked in here, I left with 2 deep cuts around my cuticles!! not acceptable. I mean, it hurts and the nail technician still kept on continuing cutting my nails and finally after a couple of minutes she pulls out that liquid stuff to stop the bleeding. I felt she was so in a rush when she did my nails. The salon was not that busy! Awful. Just awful. Aside from that, the guy at the front desk seems has no customer service personality at all. I felt like, when I paid the invoice, he never had eye contact, just took the money, then I asked if there's an envelope to give tip (which now that I'm thinking, I shouldn't have given anything at all after cutting my cuticles so deep!), but the good person that I am, I never said a word, I just wanted to get out of there. He proceeded again to not look at me while he's talking, his eyes were fixed on the monitor and just used his fingers to point out the envelope container. I'm sorry, if your running a business, shouldn't you feel that your customers should be top priority? Never coming back to this place. I've found a better one, with their nail technician's who pay extra careful to your nails. I honestly don't mind paying the extra $$ for that kind of service. Ciao.

They do a good job usually, but this past time I was there she cut me while clipping my cuticles and it bled a lot. Rather than getting it to stop and cleaning it up, she proceeded with my gel manicure and you can totally see the blood in the corner. It is under the clear coat so I am stuck with blood until I remove the gel in a couple of weeks. Not the best service this time unfortunately, because in past trips they had done a very good job.

A little pricier than others but worth it. I booked an appt after a recommendation from a close GF of mine. I didn't know who I'd see but ended up with Rizzelle for the manicure and Yen for the pedicure. Rizzelle took great care of my hands. She's one of the VERY few who actually got the shape right. Every other place either gave me 'square' or 'round'. And when I got square, it's always 'crooked' cause of the angle they stand in when it gets done. When I complain, they tell me "you're looking at it wrong"... (reasons why I only visit these places once... and never return)SO YES I was VERY pleased with how Rizzelle took care of me. BTW, I noticed the other manicurists doing the same thing Rizzelle was doing as well. Yen did a great job, too. Toes looked fabulous. 1.5 weeks later, still looking cute! Overall: service is great, atmosphere is pleasant, there's plenty of parking in front, when your appt is booked, you actually get to sit down and get started... ON TIME. I'll definitely come back.

I was a huge fan of them for years so I decided to give them another shot all these years later. My mom and I figured it was going to be busy but they got us in right at 1pm on Saturday for 2 pedis, next to eachother. Yes it's expensive, but you pay for quality. I loved that they didn't have TONNNSS and I mean TONS of nail polishes like some places do. They chose quality over quantity in that department. Brovo. It made picking my amazing color out easier too!Over all we were very impressed by both our services. We weren't offered tea, water or anything when we say down or the whole time during our visit, which was a little upsetting. Another add is make sure your manicurist shows you how to use the drying station. It is very weird and not up to par with the updated decor and feel you would think. You have to manually hold down a bar to dry your pedi.

I came in with a friend today for a French Gel manicure and a pedicure and in 30 years of having my nails done regularly, my experience with Bella Nails was, hands down, the WORST I've ever experienced.
They soaked my fingernails in foil for a long time during my pedicure but then when they removed the foil they said I must have had acrylic on my nails. I was surprised by that as I had asked for and thought I received gel at the last place but I guess I didn't. So, ok, what now? The woman didn't seem sure how to get them off so she called the guy at the front desk over and he said they would have to pry them off or soak them off with acetone. I didn't want them pried off so I said well, soak them off with acetone then. I don't know what they had on my fingers before but they just put them directly into the acetone, not washing off whatever they were using before. After a few minutes, my fingernails started to sting and then started really burning. (I wore acrylic nails for 20 years and never had that happen when soaking nails off.) I asked if they could just sand them down and the front desk guy said they didn't have time. He seemed really annoyed and put out and told me that I'd just have to go back to the other place to get them fixed. I had to just sit there and wait for a half an hour with my messed up nails and no one doing anything to try to fix them while they finished my friend's nails. His attitude was pretty shocking frankly. I wasn't rude or pushy, he just clearly didn't care. If this was my business, I would be mortified to have a customer leave with nails looking like how they left mine. Check out the picture and see for yourself.
As if that wasn't enough, my pedicure was sloppy with the paint uneven and paint on my skin. I asked for callous treatment and she barely did anything. My feet still are super calloused, she did a lame, ugly flower on my toes. For that, I was charged $42 and then the front desk guy actually demanded I leave a tip. W.O.W.

I just visited Bella Nails in Belmont for the first time and it was great! I'll be coming back for sure. I called ahead and was able to get a same day appointment, but I think they accepted walk ins while I was there too. The massaging chairs were nice and the two technicians working on my mani pedi were wonderful. The leg massage was a nice touch.

I've been to Bella Nails twice and both times, had a lovely experience. I should mention that I've made appointments both times, so I'm not sure what the walk-in experience is like, but they've been able to see me on fairly short notice when I've called. This last time, I arrived almost a half hour early (due to transit), and they were able to see me almost immediately. I had Lisa for my entire experience (eyebrow wax, manicure, pedicure, and a neck/shoulder rub), and she was clearly very experienced. My eyebrows were done to my satisfaction with a normal amount of waxing pain in less than 10 minutes, I had no incidents with rough tools as some other folks have mentioned despite not having treated myself in five months, and Lisa has excellent hands when it comes to massage. I was thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed myself, even though the entire visit was over in about 90 minutes! One note: they don't have massage chairs as they do in many other nail salons, so the back massage is limited to neck and shoulder, but was still excellent.

After reading the variety of reviews here, I can only say that, in dozens of visits, I've never had some of the negative experiences others have had.The positives:- The ambiance is great. Lots of space, well-maintained- Massage chairs are very comfortable- They always offer complimentary glass of water or tea- I've never had to wait long when I have an appointment- They usually do mani while pedi is being done, saving me time- They always clean up my cuticles- They always give hand and foot massage, even with basic spa service- They do a great job with my nails, even those that are hard to work with The negatives:- At times I have to tell them the water is cold in the foot bath or that I'd like the jets on. This isn't a big deal to me as they always correct it when asked, so still 5 stars in my book

This review is for customer service - I did not get a mani or pedi. I stopped in to get a gift certificate for a friend and the assistant could not have been more pleasanter helpful. She went out of her way to make a nice package for my friend - I wanted to include a bottle of polish, but she apologized and explained that they did not have space for retail, but then went through her inventory to see if she had a new bottle I could include my gift. Unfortunately none of the colors were right, so she then went to the back and grabbed for me new files and buffers to include in the bag to make it cute. I appreciate her effort, and rarely see such in other businesses.

Went here for the first time for a pedicure and will not return. The technician was extremely rough, both in pushing back the cuticles and trimming my nails. One of my big toes is still sore and I can tell by the way she clipped in at one corner that it will probably ingrow. I will have to keep an eye on it and go elsewhere when it starts to grow out. Pedicures can be risky - don't chance it.

My fingers didn't bleed right away but were swollen for the rest of the month. I saw similar comments but thought these are one off cases. The salon clearly doesn't make any effort to train employees to be gentle.What's worse is this person's attitude from the begging. It was like, you should be thankful that I am doing your nails. I can't remember the full name. Something with "J".I don't recommend the manicure. The pedicure person was careful and gentle.Given the discomfort of swollen nails, I still don't plan to go back there.

My toe nails were left looking jagged and I'm pretty sure she caused a few ingrown nails (I will have to get another pedicure soon to correct this). The lady who did my nails cut 2 of my fingers. She made me put pressure on the cut fingers to stop the bleeding and then immediately sprayed it with alcohol which stung very badly. This mani/pedi first $87 BEFORE tip. There are way cheaper places in Belmont that do phenomenal jobs. I only came here because everywhere else was booked. Never again.

I was not rushed to pick out my polishes for gel manicure and pedicure (it always takes me at least 5-10 mins!!), seated in the best massage chair that I never wanted to leave, and immediately had service from 3 women (1 on each hand and 1 doing pedicure). The spa décor was glamourous, yet simple- it reminds me of a 5 star spa I recently visited in Punta Cana, DR. I truly felt like I was on vacation. There was very warm oil rubbed extensively on my hands and arm, also my cuticles look better than ever. They let me stay in the massage chair, reclined, while my toes dried until I was ready to go, without saying a word ( I took my time and felt completely relaxed). Because of the quality and exquisite service, I was afraid the price was going to be outrageous, but I was shocked to check out for $60!!!! Of course, one of the most important things is how my nails and skin look... I have never been so happy with the attention to detail that was taken with my cuticles, perfect polish, and the oil being rubbed into my dry skin. CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. I want to bring all my visiting family and friends here. I see other reviews that talk about it being crowded, but it's because they're awesome. When I got there the the nail tech looked a bit confused ,and started to scrape at my nails, I explained to her they were shellac, but she still seemed confused. I called someone else over, they said something to her, that I didn't understand and she continued to try and get the polish off. I had her stop. I asked for the gentleman at the desk. He told her she was doing it wrong, and told her what to do next. When I first called they told me that, it would be $38 to remove shellac and re-polish my nails. When they were finally finished I went to pay, and the gentleman at the front said it would be $50. I explained to him that, I was quoted 38 over the phone, he told me no,it's shellac and it would be $50. I paid the $50 and never went back.

I usually go on the weekdays as they are very busy on the weekends. Allan knows me and I don't even have to ask for services he just knows what I want. They have a good variety of nail colors as well. VERY CLEAN and good cleaning processes. The technicians are all very friendly - most won't converse with you which in my book is fine. I would rather relax or read my trashy magazine. You can tell them if you want them to scrub hard or soft (my sister is extremely tiskilish and they are good about respecting that. I've had the waxing done once on my face and underarms and it was not painful compared to what I have had done before. They provide water, tea and coffee. Always good service. Allan always has a nice smile to share with you. You feel like a valued customer. HIGHLY recommend this or their San Mateo location. His wife manages that location and she's just as wonderful. Just note they do get busy, make an appointment although he tries to accommodate people.

And now 4 days later the mani is chipping and cracking along the nail edges. Woman who did it did not apply all layers of polish evenly so there are ridges that are cracking and peeling. None of the women appear to speak English or if they do they use it as an excuse to ignore you the paying client!!!when I went to pay I was informed they only accept cash for tips no upfront warning. So now with wet nails I have to dig into wallet. First and LAST time here!! Back to Eros - less expensive, better quality and far more friendly.

Most of the women providing the nail treatment present unhappy, sullen and pissed that I am there getting a pedicure.The last time I was there the women doing my pedicure kept pushing my toes down and pulling my foot towards her... she kept adjusting my chair and was just really annoyed kept telling me to "relax"! Which is really challenging when you feel like you are doing something wrong ..oh and yah spending the money that I worked hard for! So I have decided I will relax at another nail salon where I will be treated with dignity and respect as a paying customer!

Problem is, my nails are always filed down way too far (on top of the nail) and if I take the polish off, the nail is too thin and with white spots. The last time I went, I got a manicure only. She clipped and clipped and then cut me, she just wouldn't stop. She did feel badly but the cut was so bad the bleeding couldn't be stopped. I left with no polish and a $5 discount. There are other options I will explore in the future.

I just got a manicure for a wedding that I am in. I wanted an iridescent gold look. The nail attendant, Trina was impatient and was not listening to what I was attempting to articulate to her. I got pushed into something I was trying to avoid which was a glitter forward metallic (opposite of what I envisioned), however I picked an iridescent color for the top to offset the gold. Clearly Trina did not care to understand what I was trying to do thus she started with the color intended for the top coat. I said something she sighed, told me in a louder tone if I wanted what I described she needed to do that color first. I went with it but the next knew it was turning out exactly how I thought it would; wrong! I thought a second coat may have made it look less glittery so I asked, she rolled her eyes at me! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon and I had to pay 40 dollars for rude service, not to mention will now have to go somewhere else to get the awful color changed.

I am so upset with the fact that the owner of this location did me himself and rushed because he had to make a reservation for dinner. I had to tell him to "make sure you get the sides" with nail polish because he kept missing the sides leaving them bare. And even still he missed spots. I asked him to cut my cuticles and again he did a half ass job and now they are peeling even worse. He also globbed the gel nail polish making them super thick and uneven. Easily the worst gel manicure I've ever gotten and I'm so pissed because they are not cheap.

Never regret coming here.

Worst full set expierence I have ever received at a nail salon! I felt very ripped off. It was my first time going this place and I will never go back. My Gel Polish is already chipping off when it never has done this at any other nail salon I have been too. They couldn't even file and shape my nails correctly and they made me do it myself! They literally just gave up and handed me the nail file. This place is way overpriced for the horrible quality and service. I usually don't leave reviews for places but my experience was so bad, I felt like I had to leave one. They must use poor quality gel Polish because it has never chipped or flaked off like this before and I've been getting gel Polish at other nails Salons for over a year. Not just bad quality polishes, but also really bad customer service. I would highly advise not going here. I hope this review helps prevent another customer for being ripped off.

1 star for giving me an appt promptly on the phone. I made a 3:30 appointment and they did not start till 4:15 pm. The water was cold, no one even asked me if I wanted anything or even apologize for making me wait that long. Some people got a neck pillow and others did not. The pedicure was even decent. It was a half assed rush job. No cleaning, cuticle removal. No dead skin heel scrubbing. No buffing of nails. Scrub was done in 20 seconds on both feet. The massage was useless Overall, I was done by 4:35 pm including polish. Just one coat of polish. No, this was not an express pedicure. It was a spa pedicure. I wanted to get some waxing and they made me wait till 5:00 again, despite prompting 2 times. Infact I'm writing this review while I wait for someone to show up in a back room for the past 5 mins. If you care about good service and respect your time, don't go here. This is the first and last time I'll go to any of the Bella Nails places around San Mateo.

You know I use to come here often, but lately I've decided to choose another nail salon around my area. Last time I checked in here, I left with 2 deep cuts around my cuticles!! not acceptable. I mean, it hurts and the nail technician still kept on continuing cutting my nails and finally after a couple of minutes she pulls out that liquid stuff to stop the bleeding. I felt she was so in a rush when she did my nails. The salon was not that busy! Awful. Just awful. Aside from that, the guy at the front desk seems has no customer service personality at all. I felt like, when I paid the invoice, he never had eye contact, just took the money, then I asked if there's an envelope to give tip (which now that I'm thinking, I shouldn't have given anything at all after cutting my cuticles so deep!), but the good person that I am, I never said a word, I just wanted to get out of there. He proceeded again to not look at me while he's talking, his eyes were fixed on the monitor and just used his fingers to point out the envelope container. I'm sorry, if your running a business, shouldn't you feel that your customers should be top priority? Never coming back to this place. I've found a better one, with their nail technician's who pay extra careful to your nails. I honestly don't mind paying the extra $$ for that kind of service. Ciao.

They do a good job usually, but this past time I was there she cut me while clipping my cuticles and it bled a lot. Rather than getting it to stop and cleaning it up, she proceeded with my gel manicure and you can totally see the blood in the corner. It is under the clear coat so I am stuck with blood until I remove the gel in a couple of weeks. Not the best service this time unfortunately, because in past trips they had done a very good job.

A little pricier than others but worth it. I booked an appt after a recommendation from a close GF of mine. I didn't know who I'd see but ended up with Rizzelle for the manicure and Yen for the pedicure. Rizzelle took great care of my hands. She's one of the VERY few who actually got the shape right. Every other place either gave me 'square' or 'round'. And when I got square, it's always 'crooked' cause of the angle they stand in when it gets done. When I complain, they tell me "you're looking at it wrong"... (reasons why I only visit these places once... and never return)SO YES I was VERY pleased with how Rizzelle took care of me. BTW, I noticed the other manicurists doing the same thing Rizzelle was doing as well. Yen did a great job, too. Toes looked fabulous. 1.5 weeks later, still looking cute! Overall: service is great, atmosphere is pleasant, there's plenty of parking in front, when your appt is booked, you actually get to sit down and get started... ON TIME. I'll definitely come back.

My mom and I figured it was going to be busy but they got us in right at 1pm on Saturday for 2 pedis, next to eachother. Yes it's expensive, but you pay for quality. I loved that they didn't have TONNNSS and I mean TONS of nail polishes like some places do. They chose quality over quantity in that department. Brovo. It made picking my amazing color out easier too!Over all we were very impressed by both our services. We weren't offered tea, water or anything when we say down or the whole time during our visit, which was a little upsetting. Another add is make sure your manicurist shows you how to use the drying station. It is very weird and not up to par with the updated decor and feel you would think. You have to manually hold down a bar to dry your pedi.
