Our 45 minute wait turned into 3 hours just for a gel polish. Told us it is color changing and it is definitely not. When we finally got sat down they acted like my daughter and I were an inconvenience. I had to ask for a second coat. My 11 year old daughter had polish on multiple fingers and all her cuticles which they didn't even bother to trim back and I didn't find out until we left and she was in tears. Was supposed to be a fun girls day alone since she has 2 brothers. A waste of$40 with a lot of disappointment. It doesn't help that as a single mom of 3 working 2 jobs as a Paramedic I can't do things like this very often and my daughter actually cried from the experience. After my regular technician of 4 years quit (different shop) & not knowing WHERE he went, I tried someone else there ~ to put it as nicely as I can, the did a TERRIBLE job and my nails looked awful! I've been a few different times & always receive great customer service & quality work no matter how busy they are. I rarely leave Facebook reviews but I had to today because I took my dad in for a pedicure because he is recovering from a stroke & needs help with many things so we thought a massage chair & a pedicure would be nice. Every single person there was so so helpful from helping us navigate his wheelchair to trying to jump in & help us get him in & out of the chair (especially Adam). I typically never give reviews but I had such a poor experience I was very upset after my visit today. I have been coming here since it opened and love the service but the last two visits have been the worst. I had a pedicure and nails dipped the technician took 2.5 hours to complete them both my entire pedicure he was chatting with a co worker. Working and talking I understand but having me sit and wait and literally stop doing your job to chat for 5 min or more at a time t...hrough the entire pedicure made me very upset. I was cut twice bleeding he apologized but that had never happened before when a technician was actually paying attention to the client! My nails being dipped was awful he had to keep going over and over 4 or 5 times each nail after missing spots and asking the person next to him working if they looked ok. He was very unsure of himself which made me feel uncomfortable my tools being used were in sterile packets but not sealed so it was obviously not sterile and just pulled out of the drawer he even wiped them in front of me so could not of been more obvious they had not been cleaned the bag should be sealed and a tab on the corner even changes color to show it was ran through a sterilizer. I watched other technicians complete clients who came in after me before I was done and they to had pedicures and gel manicures. I also watched other employees bring tools from the back in sterile sealed packs. I have been to the Laquer Room a handful of times and have had exceptional service at each visit. But my sister and I walked in on Friday, September the 8th and I was very disappointed with my service. My sister and I both started off with Pedicures. I had asked for a full set when making my appointment the month before. My sister just wanted her toenail done. The pedicure itself was nice. We both loved our toes. We were offered something to drink. It was nice. Where it start...ed to fall apart was when we started looking at the time. It took almost two hours for my nail tech to complete a basic pedi. We were sort of on a time constraint. Yes, we chose to do the nails, but a two hour pedi? Then when it was time to do my manicure the nail tech kind of acted annoyed at some of the requests I was making. It was my sister's wedding and I wanted it to be special. I felt like he was trying to push me into doing a simpler design because he just didn't want to deal with me anymore. My origional design wasn't even that difficult. We left almost an hour late for another appointment. Both my sister and I's appointment was most 3 and a half hours long causing us to rush to the next place. After the rehearsal dinner I drove home and began to pack items for the next day for the wedding. During the process when I opened one of my dresser drawers one of the jewels broke off. I only put one small jewel on one finger for each hand. My sister's wedding was the next day and technically the manicure didn't even last until the next day. I had no time between getting make up done and hair done to go back to have it repaired that following day. Then while I was at the venue right before the wedding I was helping my sister open up a jewelry box and the other diamond on my right ring finger broke off. So no diamonds for the wedding which I intended the manicure to be fore. I spend $115 on a set that didn't even last. And I tipped $10. For $125 I should be at least able to keep the diamonds on my fingers for longer than a 24 hour period. Because of this I am considering not returning. Your quality should be better considering the the amount of time spent and money spent. Make sure you use more than one coat of nail polish to keep jewels on. I even asked for chrome to match my toes for my nails and he gave me a dirty look like he was refusing to do it. And he clearly talked me out of it because he didn't want to deal with me anymore. For years I could never find a place that I loved going to. My first visit was after I had gone to a nail place the same day, and they messed up my nails. Horrible experience and quite possibly got athlete's foot there. Not positive but I've never had it before came down with it after a pedicure I had from there. The manicure looked like a little kid did it and the cuticles were cut and wicked. They kept having to read the card too because They didn't know what to do. Very clean! I was so nervous I've never let anyone touch my brows! I explained my fear. The lady was very kind and considerate. She asked me what I wanted to do as far as shape seeing as one eye brow is arched and the other more rounded. It was very quick pain free. 4 stars to ROCKY for being efficient, nice and friend. I was surprised to have gotten my eyebrows cleaned in 10 minutes. Quite understandable bc she was the most experienced out of all the other girls. I thought it was considerate of her to clean my brows simply and then ask me if I wanted to go thinner. I would ask for her again. DOWNSIDE: i think she could've cleaned the hair off my face instead of just handing me tissue. What I really didn't appreciate the most was two of her coworkers talking to her and look down on me as rocky threaded my brows. I sat, head tilted, eyes closed and was hearing them talk in a different language really loud above me. I was pretty uncomfortable and I find unprofessional. The place was nice, not to long of a wait.  I went with my 2 of daughters. They did a good job on mine & my oldest, there was a young girl that did my youngest eyebrows & she really messed up, she took off part of her eye brow & made her bleed in a few different places. I guess it's just who u get there. They told me $30 for a full face & $8 eyebrows. So i thought my total was going to be $46 but she told me $51. Didn't bother to question it, I didn't bother to leave a tip ether. Not sure if I'll go back or continue to go to Vans Nails. I know for sure I'm gonna be picky about who does my eyebrows if I do. I will never come back I got my eyebrows threaded and the lady completely changed the shape and messed up very badly . When I told her I wasn't happy and she did them way too thin she says "you're not used to them yet" when all I said was to clean them up and not to shape them. So I join the gym next-door to this beauty salon a month ago and I decided to do my eyebrows and I'm usually very hesitant on trying new places but I did took a chance and I'm a guy who has been doing my eyebrows since I'm 16 years old now I'm 33 so I know how I like my eyebrows to be done I walked in explain the Indian girl how I want them before anything three times or more usually I like my eyebrows thick only trim from the top and of course the middle section of the eyebrow. I kinda felt she was treading more but I went along when she finish she show me on the mirror and she had done top bottom and middle section of the eye brow when I asked pacifically asked for the bottom part of the eyebrow in the middle section. I was very disappointed on the communication or language barrier I guess she couldn't understand me. Her coworker it's very professional and understood my frustration explain her so they did not charge me for the eyebrows this time. I'm new to town and was looking for a local affordable place to do my brows. I should have looked elsewhere. I asked the young lady to clean up my brows and leave my existing shape. When she was finished I was left with thin brows and an unwanted arch. She then asked how I liked my brows and I politely explained my concern. She proceeded to argue with me about how she did exactly what I asked. I quickly paid my $8 and left. I now have to color in my brows. I am disheartened that my brows are ruined, but I'm more bothered that I was treated so rudely. My eyebrows will eventually grow back, but my respect for this business will not. I usually go to the ming avenue location. So when I noticed the new location much closer to home, I had to try them out. This location is a little hard to spot since it's tucked in the corner of the Wal-Mart shopping center next to Smileland Dentistry. Ths big signs advertising their $8 eyebrow threading also help to locate the shop. Inside this location is a bit smaller than ths other, but they don't seem as busy. When I arrived, I was greeted and seated immediately. The ladies working are friendly and work pretty quickly and almost painlessly. I am very happy with my eyebrows and the price is just right! Horrible! It is my first time getting my eyebrows threaded (i usually wax them myself at home). It was not painful at all so I'm glad about that, what I am very disappointed in is the result. I got my eyebrows threaded by a young girl there, she missed a lot of hairs in both ends of my brows. When she was done she gave me a tissue and mirror. (My sister was with me and she later told me that at other places they usually clean up your brows after and if necessary they pluck some as well.) Well plucking was very necessary! I had to go home and clean up my brows myself. When I wiped my eyebrows with tissue I asked the girl if she could take more hair off my brows and she said no (what?! Who says no to a customer's request?!) I was so uncomfortable and mad already I just got up and paid. After my brows I was going to ask her to thread my whole face since it wasn't painful, but after I saw how she left my eyebrows there was no way I was going to let her thread my face!I definitely DO NOT recommend this place to anyone! Its clean and has a very nice atmosphere.
