I went for a pedicure during my lunch hour because I work across the street and didn't have time to go to my regular place. My technician was very friendly and made gel mani for me quite fast but still careful. Another thing that I enjoyed was that it was quiet in the salon. I recommend trying these ladies! Read Less

I had a very bad experience at this Salon. I went in to get my daughters and my nails done because this is what my 9yr old daughter gave me as a Birthday present. The lady that sits on the first table to the left asked my daughter to sit to get her nails painted with another girl there. Then she asked me to have a seat at her table so she can start with my nails. Not once did she ask me what I was getting done. She began working on my nails once almost done she asked me to go wash my hands. I came back and she had another client that was getting fills sitting on my seat to start working on her and sat me on the chair next to her to paint my nails. At this point I stop her and ask her "Are you going to paint my nails". She then says "Yes". Then I told her "I wanted a full set though". She then goes off on me saying "Why didn't you tell me you wanted a full set, you should have told me, I don't understand why people don't say anything, this keeps happening and I don't know how to make people understand and now I'm working more"! I get up and tell her "That's fine don't do my nails I don't want you to do my nails"! She then says "your husband and daughter came in when you were parking and said you wanted a manicure and your daughter was getting her nails painted"! I told her "No when I signed in I wrote down what I needed done and you didn't bother to double check so I figured you already knew"! she then told me that I would have to pay for my manicure and my daughter's nails. I told her that was fine but I was not going to get my nails done with her. What was supposed to turn out to be a nice first time experience for my 9 yr old daughter and I having are nails done together for the first time turned out horrible. I finally found Modern Nails which did my acrylic nail perfectly!I wanted to have a mani after searching for a place to go in Bakersfield. I made an appointment in the morning and it was nice since it wasn't busy at all. These ladies offer the best nail service I've ever had. This place was always spotless and up to date with the latest products!They make me feel that the experience here is not wasted. I could easily say a million wonderful things about Modern Nails. This salon in Bakersfield is super clean and very organized. The whole staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. My manicurist was very precise and they were perfectionists who are very good when it comes to nail designs. They definitely take their time instead of rushing through to get to another client. I just came to this salon in this town, for the first time, 30 minutes before they close. They didn't mind and gave me a gel manicure and took their time shaping my nails the way I wanted and took extra time doing cuticle care, nice conversation, very polite and GREAT manicure. Best experience I have ever had at Modern Nails. As soon as you walk in it's nice, soothing music, clean, over all a great atmosphere .The nail techs were friendly and funny and actually listen to what you want. I went with my friend and they took their time on both of us and didn't rush us nor were they rude. They also offer a complimentary neck massage and a heated wrap all you pay for is your nails. But of course a tip is nice! For those of you who don't think it's necessary. They are all very careful and detailed with their work. My manicure lasted noticeably longer than those at other places. Came to get Acrylics removed, paid $8 for just removing the nails. She didn't buff,  or add a clear coat. I would of removed them myself if i knew she wasn't going to restore my natural nails.  I only stopped by here because it was close to the mall, but never again. Read Less

It's never busy when I arrive and they ALWAYS rush. I asked for a fill, thin and cut very short. I got clumpy nail polish (because she rushed) and thick medium nails NOT what I asked for. Plus, they hurt you and are very rough. Not returning. Do not recommend. If I could give a -5 stars I would. Read Less

Went to get my nails done here on July 3rd and I got a lady named nancy. She was very rough with my hands. She did them very quick and sloppy. I have chuncks of acrylic missing at the bottom my nails. There are sides on my nails wheres theres no clear nail polish. There are tons of tiny bubbles under each nail. Its only been 5 days and my nails are lifting. Terrible job. Never coming again and will let people who are interested in getting their nails done know not to come here. Read Less
