I visit the salon for manicures. Mariciela does excellent work. I even found some cute flip flops to purchase. Wow!!! This place is the best!! I surprised my mom with a deep tissue massage, mani and a pedi. I live out of town, so when I called they made the experience of booking her appointment very pleasant. She got the ultimate spa experience from champagne and mimosas to having the best massage and nail services. Everyone was so nice to her and always made sure she was being taken care of. When I picked her up, she had the biggest smile that I’ve ever seen! She kept telling me how she felt so happy and relaxed, she also mentioned how she didn’t feel rushed (for nail services) like other places she’s been too. Other places rush you to pick a color and have two people at a time trying to get you out ASAP that you don’t get to relax. She didn’t want to leave this place when it was time to pick her up. Love their products but I went in for a product they didn't have. They said they would call me once it comes in. They didn't so I called them. It wasn't in yet so the lady over the phone took my number and said she will call me when it comes in. She didn't because a week later I just stopped in and it was in. My mother and I got the Holiday Spa Package from the Essentiels Spa. I was actually a walk-in client on a Thursday morning 10 am, and they managed to provide me with a massage, facial, and blow-out hairstyle all before 2:00 pm. During that visit, I decided to schedule the Holiday package for my mom for the upcoming Saturday. I took my mom to the salon that Saturday, and they allowed me to stay in the back with her during all of her services which consisted of an express manicure, massage, makeup application, and facial. Everyone at the spa was so knowledgeable, and they really seemed like that wanted to help me with my skin issues. Instead of forcing me to buy products, they gave me a lot of samples and advice for my skin issues. I thought that the skin examination was the coolest thing because I was able to see all of my problem areas of the skin. They do this by having you insert your head into a helmet-like object that also has a type of blacklight and mirror on the inside. I was able to see the oils and dead skin on my face. The esthetician that worked on me did a thorough job on the extractions, and I felt pretty confident about my skin. However, the woman who worked on my mom, Kelly, showed up 20 minutes late to my mom's appointment. She tried to make up for her tardiness by giving my mom a bonus skin peel but because of that, I feel that she cheated my mom out of the extractions. She only did three, and I know that because I watched her the whole time. I had the most relaxing massage, and I cannot remember the name of my masseuse. She was really friendly, and we ended up talking the whole time. The masseur that worked with my mother was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the practice. Apparently, he had been massaging for more than 20 years, and he was an instructor for about 12 years. He gave my mom the option of receiving the Swedish massage or the deep tissue. After the massage, my mom was asking him for tips on how to stretch out her legs in certain areas because she usually experiences cramps. He had me stand up with him to model the stretches to my mom. It was a pretty cool experience. The woman who worked on my hair did great, and my mom received the nicest express manicure. We recognized the manicurist from the Esalon on Stockdale, and we had a fun time catching up. We weren't fans of the makeup application. The makeup artist took too long to put the makeup on, and he didn't do a good job of listening to our requests. My mom wanted a natural look, and he proceeded to put metallic, glittery eyeshadow all over her lid. The shadow wasn't really our style.Overall, I think the experience depends on who you schedule the appointments with because everyone there seemed to be very accommodating. Raine just gave me the best haircut of my life, and I got full, blunt bangs. I'm not kidding! What was a very big deal to me was easy as pie to her! She is skilled, thorough, and magical. She is quite busy, runs behind, and it was quite a long visit, but she's worth it! Esentials got a facelift a few years ago, and I hadn't visited in probably 10-11 years. I am blessed to have the best stylist (25+ yrs) in Bakersfield at Essentiels, but also use the spa when I can and purchase a lot of products there, which are all top quality. 6/28/17 I had one of the best Spa Days ever! Me- retired CMT and have worked in many places such as this. What a fabulous experience! It started off with some chocolate toffee and a mimosa then off to Amanda for a gel manicure ( the best job I've ever had) and she was wonderful. Next a massage with Phillip who not only got all my hot spots but turned me into jelly and last but not least was a facial with Julie- who's so knowledgeable and friendly I swear she must be under paid! I've visited essentials spa several times for services including hair, facials and massages. I used to get my hair done by Raine. She was amazing but I stopped going there because the front sales clerk always made me feel inadequate when I wouldn't buy hundreds worth in products. Recently my husband purchased the spring fling spa package as a gift. The package included a 50 min facial, 50 min massage, make up and a treatment hair masque with blowout and style. The person that did the massage was 20 minutes late and I only received a 30 minute massage. As I was getting a facial the same woman degraded me several times because of the products I use on my face "when you are ready to use something professional use our products." The only positive to my experience was Brooke. She did an outstanding job on my make up and was extremely friendly and professional. I had a hair trim added to my package. I was charged $55 for a trim. The website says $60 for a haircut, blow dry and style. Apparently I paid twice for my blowout and style being that the package included blowout and style... $55 for a trim!! And the front desk clerk reassured me it was a discount because I got five dollars off. I left essentials feeling ripped off, belittled and anything but relaxed! Read Less

I will NEVER go back yo this shop the owner was rude and rushed on me and another clients nails plus charged me more than i nornally pay at any other nail shop n kcmo....she had the audacity to get mad when we requested our money back and told us no refunds...she refused to fix the other ladies nails which caused a big scene and she threatened to call the police i got my nails fixed and they still look horrible.Also why in the processbof her fixing my nails she argued with me!!! It took all of me not to slap this lady..but like i told her she will never get my business again and I dnt expect her to last much longer because her work is trash and customer service sucks!!! The staff here used to be pretty good years ago. I stopped here on Saturday as I was in a rush and needed a pedicure. The shop has no up to date polish and it appears that no updates are being made. The polish put on my toes on Saturday fell yes fell off on Tuesday. I took the nail polish in whole pieces to the shop on Wednesday in which they looked at me as if I had done something. The owner Rose slopped some polish on my nails and when I asked her to clean them up she said there was nothing wrong. I said its ok I will NEVER come back. They treated me like I was the one with the bad polish. STOP putting polish remover in your empty bottles of nail polish to stretch them and buy some new products. #inthatorder Read Less

Horrible. I bought spa pkgs for me and my daughter for her birthday. When I bought them they told me they would serve sparkling cider instead of wine with our meal. Not only did they not give us sparkling cider they plopped us down without anything to drink and never came back to check on us. The lady that did my facial burned my face, the guy that gave me my message acted like he just wanted to leave and didn't even hardly message me. I had bought add ons for us and found out my daughter didn't get her foot message. We bought one of their recommended products which after I got home noticed they had given me a coupon in my pkg for a % off of any products I had bought. They didn't let me know so I could use it. Anyway was not impressed will not recommend and will not go back. So i purchased the XOXO package! TOTALLY WORTH IT! It was a completely relaxing experience. Exactly what i needed. I will even say, i prefer their spa to Massage Envy. I was a Massage Envy member for almost two years, but I can say the therapist and esthestician I had were more knowledgeable than anything I had experienced before. It was even better because they weren't trying to sell me anything to come back again. They let their work speak for them. I also had a hair treatment and makeup application. Last month I got to enjoy the Essentials Spa treatment for free because I took advantage of their September promotion of a free makeup application on your birthday. I've always passed by Essentials, I have never actually gone in. I always was under the impression that it was just hair care, but it's so much more! I felt like I found a hidden treasure after I walked in. I don't often wear makeup, so I have to admit I was a little nervous, but it turned out so beautiful! The ...staff was so pleasant, they made me feel so comfortable, and they even gave me wine while I was getting my makeup done! Brittany my makeup artist was so sweet and so fun to talk to, and Mark the front desk employee was also very sweet and fun. I felt like I was hanging out with friends after 10 minutes of being there. When I got done with my makeup I explained to them that I have had issues with small bumps along my jawline for the past year, I have tried everything from a topical antibiotic to essential oils. Morgan recommended that I try the Clarisonic Smart Profile for my skin, she swore it would be the best investment I could make for my skin. So I got it, and everyone at the counter started telling me all of the other benefits of the Clarisonic, and their experience with the product. Brittany even taught me how to use it properly to avoid breakouts. That Clarisonic changed my life. My bumps went away in a week, the bags under my eyes improved. My boyfriend kept telling me that my skin was glowing, and after two weeks he went out and bought the mens Clarisonic.
