This isn't THE place to go to get your nails done, but it's not completely terrible either. The staff are friendly and they work fairly quickly. That said, the quality of their services are sub par from many other salons in town. I recently got a normal manicure and I'm  definitely not ecstatic at how it  turned out. My nails were cut to where they are partly squared, partly round AND tapered more one one side. It's really only noticeable when you really look at my nails. The polish job was also a little sloppy - the top coat applied is streaky and bumpy. However, I once got a gel manicure here and loved it. This place looked nice, was oder free and clean, but Kim did NOT provide good service. I asked her multiple times to please make my nails straight as she cut them jagged, but she was looking around the room and got up multiple times. I am by no means a perfectionist, but I'd at least like to have nails that look like a professional did them. Whenever I first got there, I was with one of my friends, and we were looking at some polishes. We saw some cute colors were seated shortly after. The lady I was with made my nail length a bit odd... my middle nail is much shorter than the rest of my nails. She continuously messed up with the polish on my thumbs, and I could tell she was getting annoyed. Her remarks were getting a little choppy, but in the end, she did a decent job besides the length. I can't stand the service. No one listens to me, this is usually bonding time for my mom sister and I and I call ahead to make an appointment and confirm that we can all sit together I am very thorough every time I ask this, but they always move us. HOWEVER ! Their gel manicures are AMAZING. It is always flawless they are happy to do extra coats for my thin nails, I've never ever had them chip or the polish lift. I really enjoy coming here. The staff all speak English!  I've been to nail salons where they don't and only 1 or 2 people speak English. Which makes it very hard to describe or understand.  He music they play is piano style, but of current radio. This is a family run business. The father is normally at the front checking people in.  The wife Julie is wonderful!  They have 3 sons, which all work here too. The two youngest work at the check in and the oldest does nails as well. Truly great people. Read Less

I have been here 3 times prior to this review. I've had 2 gel manicures and 1 pedicure. I have had great experiences. I walked in and was seated right away. I have been coming to Elegant Nail salon for almost a year now, since I've been coming here I've always had awesome service! All the workers do a great job at making you feel comfortable and always make sure you leave satisfied. Recently within the past couple months I have stumbled upon Vi doing my nails....she is amazing!! She always shapes my nails perfectly and does an amazing job every single time I come to see her! Took a me day and decided to get a pedicure.  Great experience, and my toes look great.  I walked in and waited no more than 5 minutes.  I like the professional look and feel of the spa.  It was very clean and, from as far as I could tell, everything is cleaned and sterilized extremely well.  My only "complaint" is I wish my massage was a little bit harder/had more pressure, but that is a particular preference. Very customer oriented! Great service! Hygenic and friendly. Definitely my "go to" place. Great for walk-ins and small groups. Pedicures are always at least satisfactory no matter who does them. Clean, clean, clean, clean!Did I mention how clean this salon is!?As a cosmetologist I appreciate the care that elegant nails puts in to their cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection. They use covers on their pedicure tubs, wear gloves, and I see them open up their clean implements in front of me. The massage chairs are very comfortable and work great! They offer a wide range of spa level options. They take great care of you while your there. I'm very impressed with them and continue to go to them time and time again since they have been open even though I live on the opposite side of town. Highly recommend! Read Less

Came here to get a gel manicure and a spa pedicure. Amy did my manicure and Tony " Noodles" did my toes! They were both very good! I was trying to match my gel polish with a non gel color for my toes and Tony was very helpful and assisting me in choosing! He was also very patient with me! I changed my mind about what color I wanted a few times and I also had him re-do a few toes he painted. Amy was also very patient and super friendly! I don't live in Bakersfield but when I'm here visiting I will only come here! Quality of service is very important and they delivered amazing customer service! Also they have a very clean environment and provide a great selection of color options! I especially liked the huge selection of gel swatches!! Went in today to have a pedicure and a gel manicure.  I don't do this too often but am leaving for Hawaii in a few days and of course the toes are going to be peeking out the whole time so it is a must.I scoured reviews and could not pick a place to try.  So my sister-in-law suggested we meet here.I am so glad I came.  The place is beautiful and so clean.  Plastic liners are used between pedicures to insure cleanliness.  My toes and fingers look so beautiful and ready for Hawaii!I will be returning! I visited this salon today for the first time with my friend because she really recommended it! I really enjoyed my overall experience and will return here to get my nails done. My friend and I came in without an appointment around 3:30 on a Tuesday and were seated right away. They had a large selection of colors and they are even able to color match regular polish with gel polish so you can matching toes and fingernails if you don't want gels on both. I got a Delux mani pedi with gels on my fingers and regular polish on my toes. The Delux pedi includes a scrub, clay mask on feet (they warm up the clay which was amazing because I usually decline this option at other places during winter months as it's too cold for me), usual cuticle care treatment, callus treatment on bottom of feet, hot wax (this part is so wonderful), and a timed 15 minute massage (they use warmed up lotion for this part as well). The Delux mani consisted of usual cuticle care treatment and I believe a 5 minute massage. I think you can choose more options for the hands but I really just needed the simple treatment for today. The total for the Delux mani pedi with Gel polish on my fingernails was $71 and that was with cash. The salon was also very clean and quiet, and they had nice non-distracting music playing. The chairs were really comfortable and came with several different massage options. Everyone was very friendly and polite. Another thing that I really liked was that the lady who did my fingernails also provided me with a business card with her name and the colors I used so I'd remember them for future visits. The manicure also came with a 7 day no chip warranty and a promise that they'll fix any chips that occur during those 7 days free of charge. Read Less

I come here regularly & this time I asked for Kim (a female) bc a friend had recommended her. First of all, I waited for at least 15 min with my feet soaking in the water, then when she came out from the back, the receptionist told her that I had requested her and she says out loud throughout the salon (for everyone to hear) "YOU requested ME??" I said, "Yes" feeling a bit embarrassed. Then she says (VERY RUDELY) "I don't even know you & I've never done your toes before!" I then said, "Well, I'm fine with someone else doing my nails" She didn't respond to that & proceeded to do my pedicure. It was awful & she was EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! I went in to get my acrylics off to get a new set, and she cracked my nail in half. She tried to glue it back together and just made me bleed even more, she shaved the acrylic down into my nail so when the nails came off my whole nail was indented. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to write a review or not but I did anyway. So my wife get her nails and toes done here now after trying about 5 or so different spots in the southwest. She is her new favorite spot. The place is very clean from what I see. They are cash only, however they have an ATM that charges 50 cents if you need to withdraw money inside the spa. They are busy in the afternoons especially Friday's however they have lots of stations and I saw one person wait maybe two mins tops after she decided what color she wanted. Best of all, if you drag your significant other with you, he can get his haircut next door if he doesn't join you at the spa.After you guys are done getting pampered, get some delicious Dewar's ice cream next door. I was surprised to see all the negative comments for this salon but to each to their own... my experience was pretty good.Newer salon, 2 years old and clean as can be.No wait, I was a walk-in as my other salon is closed on Mondays.I was given to Joey who worked his magic. I have never had such a gentle pedi and without even having to ask. I really do not like my cuticles cut as once I was gouged elsewhere very bad. I did not even know Joey was cutting them, he had a feather touch. Also very personable!Great massage, no pushiness re up-selling and done in great time.He painted my color with finesse and gave me the option to sit in my chair to dry or to go under the fan. I was so relaxed I did not even notice if the chairs had massage or not. (Update, they do)English is spoken here so you can have confidence in asking for what you want.On par with other salons, $20 for a basic pedi. Worth every penny plus tip.I think I may be making a switch to Elegant for the service and convenience...TIP - $2 discount from $22 for a basic pedi if you pay cash. I have posted a pic re price.Fast forward several weeks and I have dropped a star. The wait is long and service has declined.
