I went in for a pedicure and was handed off to a "newbie" or student who didn't know what to do. During my procedure, she was helped by 3 different staff members and in the end she forgot to include 2 services from my package. I just moved here from Wisconsin. Me and my best friend decided to get our nails done and boy am I glad I went here. We walked in without an appointment and we were seated right away. I got a full set of acrylics and my friend got a gel manicure. The service was great and everyone was friendly. I got exactly what I asked for. Both of ours together costed $74. That seems a lot for gel and acrylics, but for what we got, it think it was worth it. Read Less

My go-to nail place on Sundays since my go-to is not open on Sundays. This is sort of my emergency place to go. The prices here are about average, and the quality is, of course, not the best. They always seem to be in a rush even when they're not busy. The way my nails come out is not entirely crooked, but just not perfect like the way they come out when I leave Landmark. I guess since this place is called true nails it's only fair I leave a truthful honest review.Idk how this place has this many stars, this is not what it's supposed to be like being treated well at a REAL nail salon.This place is absolutely disgusting. Me and my sister went for the first time, and we had the worst nail salon experience ever. One of the main salonists started off with my gel manicure, was so rough, I was uncomfortable the whole time, not gentle whatsoever. They then moved me to the chairs, which were filthy, looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. The lady barely cleaned my toenails, I wear black socks and have a lot of black cotton/dirt get under my toenails, she barely cleaned them out. The dirt she was able to remove she put on the  towel under my feet, understandable as most salons do that. But when she finished cleaning my feet and began to massage them, she didn't turn the towel over, she placed my feet on the disgusting junk from under my toes, mixing it with the lotion, nasty. I didn't end up getting a color for my feet because I just wanted to get out of there ASAP. Meanwhile, for my sister she was literally there for 3.5 hours. 3.5 hours! She didn't even do acrylic, it was her own nails. We started at the same time, they even put the aluminum foil and acetone on her nails while they started on me first. All they had to do was remove her old gel and do her a new mani pedi. I left and came back and she still wasn't done, ridiculous!Anyway here is the worst part, my sister got a cellulitis toe infection. For those of you who don't know, it's a bacterial infection where you develop a puss pocket in the skin under your toenails or fingernails that begins draining a couple days after contact with the bacteria your skin was exposed to. Literally not only did they do such a horrible job cleaning me and my sisters toes, but she ended up with an infection after. Gross! I'm only leaving this review because I don't want anyone else getting these nasty infections, this place seriously needs to get their stuff together. Absolutely disgusting! These photos for my sisters toes were taken after  x3 days, literally they barely cleaned her feet, you can see the white pus pocket on her toes. This is my first time at Tru Nail Spa. I went based on all the Yelp reviews. Moral of the story, always ask for the highest reviewed person on Yelp, you can't just get a random these days.Sunday afternoon, there was not much of a wait. Decided to get a gel manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was fine. She took her time and did a good job. The nail tech was rude from the beginning. She was not friendly and didn't even say hello. She was annoyed I was deciding between colors. I asked for a French Tip with a color tip, she said it was extra $5. I said ok. I explained to her that I wanted the tip to be wider and not thin. I communicated and she seem to understand. From the beginning she was not good with filing or cleaning the nails- at one point she was cutting so much and it hurt I asked her to stop. The real problem here is the painting. She can't paint. And when asked nicely about the lumps and the mess she looked at me and straight up said I messed it up... uh I think not. She then started to clean up her station as if she was not going to continue, talked a whole bunch of shit to everyone in the salon in Vietnamese and got up and went somewhere else. Are you fing serious? Not only is it rude, it's super unprofessional. There are so many nail salons in Artesia and Cerritos. And their services are a dollar or two dollars more on each service. So why go here?? A girl names Yen took over, she was great. And she was apologetic even though it wasn't her fault. I was there for over two hours. *TIP: You get seated faster when you are getting a pedicure. I was waiting longer than someone but got seated before me because of it. Also they tend to overbook, so even when you make an appointment they still make you wait. NOT WORTH IT!*TIP #2: +$1 extra for using a credit/debit card so bring cash.YOooOo0o...I kid you not, I got here around 5:30p and was not seated until 6:45pm. They finished my nails around 7:30pm.... I understand that it was busy and I expected a wait but not for OVER an hour. I also met this lady that made an appointment for 5:30p and did not get seated until 6:30p...double yikes! (aka she was pissed lol)I must admit, they have really good nail technicians that do a great job (seeing by the pictures) but they really got to improve on their scheduling. It is also not the most efficient that this place has a group that only do pedicures and selected few that only do manicures. I've been to places that have nail technicians that can do both, so the waiting line turns out to be fair. I would like to give this place another chance, but if that amount of my time will be wasted just waiting...I'd rather go someplace else.
