Terrible! I usually go to hung who does an absolutely amazing job and really listens to how you want them but this time I went to a new guy who was young and tall. He completely rushed the service, wasn't paying attention, overfiled to the point where on the edge of each nail there is no natural nail left. Not to mention an hour after I left my gel began to lift and I had to come home and refile because I told him to make them square and sharp and he continued to round them out. So where do I begin...  I came in for a pedicure and manicure, and though the man in the front was really nice, the lady who did my pedicure and manicure was not. I believe her name was Lei on station 6, if I'm not wrong, according to her license.Lei did my pedicure but did not polish my nails correctly. When i pointed out the flaws, she began to get a bit irritated. She totally missed the side of my toe and when I told her she got annoyed. Afterwards, we headed over for a manicure. She placed the nail on my thumb, and it was crooked! I even told her and she got super rude with me saying just wait I know what I'm doing (in a broken English). And then goes on asking me how many times I get a manicure. Super rude!! Even the customer next to me noticed it was crooked! I was just upset overall with my experience and even though I usually sometimes go there for my pedicure, I definitely will not anymore.I'm beyond upset with the service and the rude lady who is supposedly a manicurist. I am with Koko if you are not a regular don't plan on getting any service. Fong did my nails two weeks ago and he advised that I make my appt ahead of time because he books out. Made my appt for a pedicure and manicure at 10:00am never got into a chair for my pedicure until 10:45am so my 11:00am manicure was obviously not going to work. I was ready at 11:30am and he reassured me I would taken care of as soon as I was done. Well low and behold didn't he take a "regular" asked me to wait. I waited 5 mins and walked out. Kathy is the owner's mom and she is the only person I've gone to. I get a deluxe spa pedi every two weeks and acrylic fill with gel polish. I have ingrown nails on both my big toes and she has done an excellent job keeping them from hurting me. I appreciate her kind attitude and she is always ready for our appointment time. I came in yesterday about 5:45p. Asked for a spa pedicure and decided to go ahead and get a gel manicure. After the spa pedicure, she started taking off my regular nail polish on my hands. She did not remove it all. After she was done painting my toes. She started on my manicure. She cut too deep on the third finger of my left hand and it hurt. When I said, "Ow" a couple of times she goes "what's wrong" in very bad, broken english, like I did something wrong. I told her she cut me and it hurt and she blamed me for having dry skin. I'm a medical assistant and wash my hands ALOT. I was still sitting in the pedicure chair, she didn't move me to a regular nail station. She set up the UV light on my lap. And had me stick my hands in there to "cure". She got irritated because she had to start it a couple of times, because my hand would not trigger the auto light sitting on my lap. She did not go all the way back to my cuticles. It looks sloppy. Then this am while I am getting ready for work, the 2nd finger on my right hand chips. Less than twelve hours later. I came in this evening to get it fixed and have been waiting for almost 30min. We'll see if they make it right. Right now this is the most stars I will give. Amazing! Originally made an appt with angel nails at 9:30, when I got there they still weren't open! Who does that? I called nails by jimmy and they took me in right away for a gel mani/pedi and he finished in less then an hour with great looking nails! After over 25 years of having my nails done by several shops and several tries, I finally took them off to give me nails rest. Normally when u do this I put the acrylic nails right back on. This time I had a young man by the name of Steven (not sure of his name being spelled). He took real good care of me. Was gentle, told me be patient, even though my nails were really nubs he has helped me grow them back healthy. It has been about 3 months and I am still very happy with my real nails. I had been a monthly customer of Jimmy nails for over a year&a half, last visit was a nightmare. There was an older man there who did my nails whome I've never seen before, i not only explained what i was coming in for on the phone when i made my appointment but the man as well when i sat down. Though the language barrier was tough i thought he new what i was saying to him. As it turned out he did but argued with me the whole time. I did not get all new nails, i got a horribl...e fill&paint job,he even took a call during the session. I explained i was not paying full payment for this since it wouldn't last, the&3 days later they began to chip off & unattached from nail. Not even 2 weeks in i had to cut them off because the would get caught in my hair&on things. The paint chipped off. I wish I could do negative stars so I can do a negative five star review on this place. My normal nail place is closed today and I need to get my nails done before I leave on Monday for a business trip so I thought I would give Nails by Jimmy's another chance. I called this morning at 10:30 and they told me they couldn't fit me in for a fill until noon. So I rearranged my entire day and I showed up when they told me too and I was left  sitting there for a half an hour while they let everybody else go in front of me. What's the point of calling and rearranging my entire day so that I could get my nails done with them if they're not even going to do what they say they're going to do. I went here to get a fill about 3 weeks ago. Lin did my fill she did An amazing job on the shape and fill...or so I though. Fast forward to last week I go to get s fill from a different nail salon and there is a green stuff on my nail. I go to my physician to have it looked at and it is a fungus. I want snot sure if it was nails by jimmy or the shop I originally got my set at. But, My best friend came with me and lin did her nails too. 3 days ago one of her nails came off and she had the same fungus. Which confirms I got a fungus from here. I felt like they weren't that sanitary when the fill was being done. Obviously I was right because I have a fungus on two fingers. I have gotten manicures done here many times and never have any problems. However, a few days ago I got a pedicure and I am very disappointed. So far I have a clearly infected toe/toenail. Swollen and red, severe pain, scabbing, and a liquid substance leaking out. So disgusting and not cute!!!Also I paid $15 extra for gel and on one of my toes the polish has already peeled right off. I am very picky when it comes to my nails (on both my hands and my feet) and this upsets me to the max. Again, very disappointed. Moral of the story: DON'T GET PEDICURES HERE!!! Read Less

I went to Nails by Jimmy on Thursday for just a basic manicure. By Friday evening the Polish had chipped almost completely off. I went back Saturday morning and asked to have it redone. The gentleman who sits at the front chair to the right stated "we do not guarantee nail polish only gel". I questioned this as it hadn't even been 36 hours. However, I asked if I could just get a full set and pay the difference. The gentleman hesitantly agreed. I got the set done (info on that later) and he still charged me full price. I had to leave and had no time to argue with him so I left. As for the nails I got done, they were awfult. There was powder on my fingers for two days, the nail polish wasn't removed completely and ypu can see it around the cuticles. The acrylic was over built under my nail and the nails are different shapes. I was very disappointed in their service. Read Less

I've known of Nails by Jimmy for many years now, but I had never been there before today. Now I wonder why it took me so long! With my best friend getting married tomorrow, and doing my own nails gone horribly awry, I desperately needed to find somewhere that could fit me in today. So I turned to Facebook, and asked my friends where they go. I got lots of replies, and as they came in I checked each one out on here to see what others had to say. Nails by Jimmy not only had the most recommendations from my friends, it also had the highest yelp rating, so I decided to try and get in. I walked in the door at about 11:00, and by 11:15 I was in a pedicure chair getting treated to a wonderful pedicure by Cindy. Seriously, it made me remember why I love to get them done. Great massage, excellent treatment, and she did a great job painting my toes. After my pedi was done, I had to wait about 15 minutes to get my acrylics started, but the time flew by. I got lucky enough to be given to Michael for my full set, and I made sure to tell him that I had heard great things about him and his work. And it really is good work! My nails are even, straight, and smooth, and my polish is perfect. I am so, so happy with the service I got today. My pedicure was $22 (I got the most basic option; the next one up is $35, and I think the top level is $45), and my full set was only $25. Terrific prices for amazing work. I recently moved to the Contra Costa County and had gotten my nails done once at a location near me, the job done was alright but I had was very dissatisfied with the staff. They were rude. I decided to try something a little farther from my house in hopes for a better experience. Needless to say, I found it! Nails by Jimmy is awesome! I didn't have to wait. The guy that took care of me ( Ben ) was sweet and gentle! (Something I didn't get much of anywhere I went) I got a full set and a pedicure. He did an amazing job. I just went there last week and am a bit surprised by these reviews. I was moved to a broken massage chair (pillow over two mechanical "massage hands" that were sticking out and into my back) when a regular customer and her husband came in. I didn't realize it until after I sat there for a bit and tried to remove the pillow plus I'm too nice to say anything. Pedicure was just OK. I didn't find it at all relaxing and I ended up redoing the polish job about a week later. The polish selection also looked older & didn't have much variety so I'm not quite sure how you can have a pedicure from them last for weeks with old product. Half way into my pedicure I realized that this was the same salon I had been to in it's old location about 3 years prior and had vowed never to go back. Please save your money. Read Less
