I've come here a couple of times, but my last visit was very disappointing for several reasons:1) It was very difficult to get an appt with Tik.  I asked about several different dates/times and she could not accommodate my schedule at all2) When I finally did come in (after I completely rearranged my schedule) she barely greeted me and just told me to wait because she was taking care of someone else.  It was 15 mins later that she finally came back to me.3) Since she was taking care of another customer during my appt time (perhaps she double booked?) I was made to wait for up to 10-15 minutes about 3 different times with no explanation and only a quick apology.  I even told her I needed to get back to work, but she still kept me waiting.4) She was very rough with the washing - I could feel my hair being yanked out5) She got color all over my hairline where it meets skin.  It took me a week of washing to get all the color off my face6) She no longer offers frequent visit rewards cards.  Of course, this is her prerogative, but it's another reason I will try someone new next time I need my hair done. She listens what to what you want and understands how to cut Asian hair. Prices are very reasonable. Wash, cut and style = $35. Tik is amazing with Asian hair, layers, and styling. But overall, she's talented with all hair types. I liked Tik so much I brought my mom to her. She made my mom look 10 years younger! I highly recommend to get your hair done by Tik. I had my hair done by Tik in San Francisco before she had her shop here in Alameda and she was amazing. After a couple years, I decided to get my hair done by her again because I tried other places and she has been the only one to do my hair the way I wanted. I had long brunette virgin hair with no style and completely straight and flat. After she was done with me, I literally felt and looked like a Victoria Secret model. I wish we took a before and after picture.Tik gave me long flowy layers and a little bit of side bangs. She is a bit pricy ($70+), but so worth it in my opinion. I feel like you pay for her quality because she really takes her time. She's very detailed and talented at what she does. She's officially my go-to hairstylist now.Tik is very hospitable and offers coffee, tea, and water. She makes you very comfortable and gives suggestions on styles she envisions on you. I really wanted to like this salon... Decor was so cute, location is so convenient, and warm customer service. I came in with dark brown hair and wanted well blended balayage baby caramel highlights and base gray coverage. Tik was very sweet and did her best, but I think it was an off day for her. I ended up with chunky highlights and my whole head was extremely brassy - almost like a copper penny. In her defense, Tik did immediately offer to color correct it (an additional 5 hours of salon time) once she saw how unhappy I was with the outcome. Unfortunately, 3 rounds of lightening over 2 days has left my hair brittle, damaged, and it's still recovering. Despite the excellent customer service, I unfortunately cannot recommend or return. 5 for the hair, 3.5-4 for nails.  Came here to prep for a friend's wedding.  Had a mani pedi and the quality was overall decent but nothing spectacular; the actual polish could have been a bit better but not bad.  Next was hair, which came out great.  She did a good job straightening my curly hair and then putting back some large curls/waves with a curling iron.  When I didn't love how she initially did the part, she fixed it really well.  Would definitely go back here for hair.  Only suggestion for improvement would be to make scheduling a bit easier.  All of the employees are independent contractors, so they each do their own scheduling.  Would be nice if this could at least be done online, as many salons do these days. Tik is simply amazing! She's extremely caring and passionate. She really understood the transformation I wanted to achieve and she's very experienced in what she does. Going lighter is always such a long process. I typically don't get my balayage touched up nor do I like to color my hair often just because I want to keep it as healthy as possible. With that being said, I had very dark roots that were about 2-3 inches grown out!! Omg I know.  I asked Tik to work her magic and throw in some dimensions to my hair and go a bit lighter overall.This has been such a long awaited review but I'm so sad that I moved down to so cal and will have to find a new hairstylist. The poeple are ice and helpful they asks what you want and do exactly as you say. Whenever I go to other salons I asks for a trim and end up cutting 5 inches off but at Sabai Salon they cut off/ trim as much as I say and may I add that they helped me color my hair without damage,retain frizz, and make my hair all shiny and smooth and soft. This is by far the best hair salon I've ever been to. All of the stylists are friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. No one tries to rip you off with overpriced shampoo or unnecessary hair treatments. Angie has helped me repair my hair from countless years of chemical damage. She uses top quality products so I can continue to color my hair without all the damage. Now I'm constantly getting compliments about my hair color (plus it's finally getting long!). I called the salon to make an appointment and was able to get an appointment the same day. Tik was kind enough to take me in at 6pm. I love how the salon is stylishly decorated but still felt very welcoming. Tik (owner) made me feel comfortable, she treated me as if I was a close friend. She even offered to buy me dinner and offered me wine! My appointment was booked with Angie. Angie knew exactly what I needed for my hair. I had dry and damaged ends. She offered to add olaplex with my hair dye and it is absolutely the best thing that I've ever used for my hair! My hair feels smoother, healthier and shinier! Angie took her time cutting my hair. It didn't feel rushed and my haircut looks amazing! I loved every minute of the experience & was so impressed by the professionalism & the knowledge that I received. Honestly my hair has been lifeless and shapeless for almost a year now.  But I would not break up from my HK stylist guru.  I am loyal to a fault.  At the expense of having a good head of healthy hair.  My pedi appointment was running late so I ended up wandering up and down the block.  There was a marketing sign on the sidewalk which lured me in, but the amazing warmth of Tik got me to stay.  She graciously allowed me to use the loo then talked to me in length about her philosophy, experience and the products she uses.  Still I was not sure about making the move.  But the visit resonated in me as I continued to struggle with my hair over the next couple of weeks.  I threw my hands up in frustration and buckled one evening and decided to take advantage of the grand opening special - 20% off cut/dry.  Tik emailed back within hours for a Saturday appointment, fitting me in before a large bridal party, tax week and a trip to Mexico.  Her energy is truly infectious.  Her memory unfailing - remembering and noting my work I talked about weeks before.  Everything important discussed was the outcome of my cut:-floaty layers-easy to care for-cowlick no more!-healthy bouncy hairHer head massages are gasp worthy.  Oh did I mention how gorgeous and NOT Alameda this salon is?  So chic.  Big city talent finally on our small little island.
