I love Alameda Nails, and so does my husband! We've been customers since the previous owners, and as much as we miss them, our new favorite (Linda) and her sister and cousin are running a fantastic nail salon. Everything is clean and fresh. Their products are sterile and they are environmentally conscious. There are fresh lemons cut for your pedicure water, and they open new tools per sitting. I came to Alameda Nails because I thought that the price of $25.00 was a good value for the waxing of my eyebrows, upper lip and chin.  I learned the hard way that the low price for these services was commmensurate with my experience there.  The esthetician who performed the waxing did so in such a cursory manner that she left hair on my upper lip and my eyebrows now look slightly uneven and appear almost untouched.  At the beginning of the  appointment, I noticed immediately that this person's breath smelled as though she had recently eaten something pungent.  Although the table on which I reclined was covered with paper that was changed for each customer, the towel beneath the paper was not.  This woman also felt the need to rub my face so hard with cotton balls that I experienced discomfort.  When my appointment was finished, the inside of my mouth tasted like like lotion that she used to remove the wax from my face.  The esthetician's English skills were so limited that basic communication was a problem.  I tipped this woman out of pity and to avoid a confrontation rather than for stellar service.  When I returned home, I had the less than pleasant task of plucking stray hairs from my upper lip, in spite of having just paid this establishment to do the same.  I will never patronize this business ever again. Ladies DO NOT STEP INTO THIS NAIL SHOP! They are cutting corners and not properly disinfecting their implements. They are supposed to leave them soaked for 10 min. However, Tracy only kept them in for 1 minute!!! Disgusting. Fungus and other infections can be spread save your feet and your hands. Be warned I did try to call and speak to management but was declined any opportunity. It's not fair that clients are deceived with their healthy nail salon banner. Please do not come here. Nails turned out really nice, it was the shape I wanted and it was thin enough that my acrylics felt natural.Only thing I didnt like was the fact that she didnt add the acrylic close enough to my cuticles so it looked like it was grown out already. This place is great! Ann is the best. She always gets my nails right, regardless of the shape I ask for. She is very versatile. Everyone else is very welcoming and helpful and the place is very clean. They really take sanitation seriously and I am all for that. If you decide to get your nails done here, I recommend Ann. So horrid I am not even sure where to start...I called and said I wanted a pink / white fill, and asked if they do it. I was told yes.  It wasn't until the day of my appointment when all my acrylic was filed off that I noticed the "white" product they used wasn't even white. When I asked for white to match what I had, I was told that they didn't have it. It would have been nice to have been told that they were going to completely change my nails before they started...The technician never even said hello to me,  I think her name was Mimi, in fact after about 10 minutes I asked her if she was angry about something. One word answer, "no", and still no conversation. Top off the rude, unaccommodating attitude toward me with the fact that the was supposed to be white but wasn't white didn't go to the edge of my nails, the color was wrong, the lines were uneven and several nails didn't even match and you get the picture. When I asked her to fix them she told me it was because my fingers weren't the same size...funny, they have never had a problem doing a professional job anywhere else. In addition, I had originally asked for a manicure and pedicure at the same time, but the lady doing my nails didn't respond... After several requests I was told by another lady that was too difficult and that I could have my pedicure after. I have never been to a place that was so unaccommodating. I have been getting my nails done for forty years, and have never had such a botched, unprofessional  job done or been treated so rudely. I always tip my technicians $10 but gave her only half that. Now I wish I had given her nothing as she just glared at me and never even said thank you. I clearly will never return, what should have been a relaxing experience with a professional job was extremely stressful. I'm sorry I paid, as I had to go get my nails fixed somewhere else. I came here to get a fill in and replace the acrylic on my middle finger, my right hand. The last salon I went to was just terrible; rushed and sloppy! Let me start by saying that these ladies here AMAZING! You are paying for quality, not just looks. They are all very attentive to customers' concerns and are also very detail oriented!! I had gotten my acrylics done two weeks ago and they were lifting on the cuticle end of my nail, almost like the cheap nails from a store that you glue on yourself. I don't mind spending $40 plus tip on a Fill with Gel Polish, as long as the job is right! I've been to places that have charged less, and places that have charged more (yes, more believe it or not), but none of those compared to the services today at Alameda Nails. LINDA was my nail technician, and she did a FABULOUS JOB!!! I am all about details (OCD to the extreme) and she was so patient and took her time with every step.From laying down the acrylic powder precisely, and covering every edge of each nail with polish. Side note: I can't stand when edges are missing polish -_- I will be returning to her in the future. She made me feel at ease and welcome, I also saw how happy it made her when she realized  how happy I was with her work! Beautiful job, unlike any other nail tech so far. I'm a regular at Alameda Nails, every time I visit I see Linda for a mani/pedi.  Linda is the absolute best at manicures and pedicures. I've been here a couple times and have been satisfied with the services.+ Lemons in the water and they use them to scrub your feet, nice touch!+ Friendly staff+ Clean and smooth polish jobs both times I've gone- Length of massage was shorter than typical from my experiences.Overall, it's not my top spot, but a good one. Alameda Nails, you're such a quaint little shop with such talented Manicurists. Since you're under new ownership, you're clean, friendly, polite.. all the makings of a perfect nail salon. Unfortunately for them, I happen to understand Vietnamese. I understood Ann (the owner) when she said that my BIG BUTT prevented me from sitting still and that it barely fit in the chair. Naturally, I politely confronted her and she apologized. However, there are far too many nail salons to support one that has absolutely no respect for their customers.
