Jocelyn, the owner, was recommended to me to do a set of pink and whites by a woman I attend college with. If you're like me then you know I am very particular how my nails look. They must look natural, meaning the white can't recede too far into the nail bed, otherwise it looks very fake. I had a wonderful salon in Virginia, that I patronized for 8 years, prior to retiring from the Navy last year and they never had an issue with doing my nails the way I asked them to. Because it's so hard to find techs can do what the customer asks, I have not gotten my nails done in over a year (3 times in Little Rock before I moved to Conway), simply because nail techs seem to not listen to customers and want to do the nails their own way. When Jocelyn sat down, (first time meeting) I told her that I had been getting my nails done for 20 years but had taken my nails off for the past year.. I explained to her that did not want the whites too far up on the nail bed. She promptly told me that she didn't want to do a white fill every two weeks only a pink and the whites should be filled every 4 weeks. (red flag!) I reiterated to her that I want them to look like natural nails with not too much white on the nail bed. (if I want to pay for a white fill every other week that's my prerogative). She starts acting in a sort of condescending manner prior to cutting my natural nails to put tips on them but I let that go.... Fast forward to her making a phone call in the middle of making the cuts to my nail tips. (red flag!) She cuts the nail tips while she's making some sort of phone order and totally ignoring me, her first time client. Great customer service, right?? If you've ever shopped around in a new city looking for a hair stylist, nail tech, massage therapist etc, you know how important trust is to get the job done the way the we, (the clients) want it done. I asked Jocelyn before she started to put the pink on (because I have had bright pink nail beds once before) if that was the only color pink she had and could I see it before she put it on. She acted offended and was very condescending (borderline disrespectful) again when she got the other colors out to show. There were two colors out of three that were acceptable and I asked her to "make it look natural" to my nail bed. (I have had really bad nail experiences before by not asking questions and after all, isn't it the right of the customer to ask questions?) She immediately backs up from her station and states loudly that I made HER feel uncomfortable and she was not finishing my nails! All because I kept saying I wanted them to look natural?? I asked her to do my nails a particular way and she was offended?!? She then tells me to LEAVE the salon! I have nail tips on my fingers and nothing else! I told her she was very unprofessional I wasn't leaving until my nails were fixed and she got on her cell phone like she was calling the POLICE! I told her, good, and that I would file a complaint when they got there! I then asked her to get the manager or the owner on the phone and guess what? SHE'S the owner!! I told her I wasn't leaving until someone did something to my nails and a man came over and took the nail tips off. As I was walking out the door SHE TOOK A PICTURE OF ME with her cell phone in front of other customers!! I stopped and came back and asked her if she just took a picture of me and she said no, she was taking a picture of the wall and did I want to see it? I said YES, I want to see it. She snatched her phone up and stuck it in a drawer saying she could take a picture of anything she wanted! I was appalled in the absolutely unprofessional way this woman acted as the owner of a business. Read Less
