I went to one of the hairdressers here (I won't name names) to get my hair done and liked the way she cut it. I liked it so much that I wanted her to do a balayage/baby lights the next month since she offered to do it for a special price of $100. The day before my balayage appointment she texted me a reminder. The next day she asked if I could reschedule for the day after. On the following day she texted me saying she was going to stop doing hair altogether and would have to cancel our appointment. A week later I saw her post a picture of a balayage on instagram. I felt like she just didn't want me as a customer and that I was lied to. I really feel like this was all very shady, confusing and misleading. I've never been treated that way before by a hairdresser in my life. Read Less

I tried so many places before I ended up at Studio 6.I lived right across the street from them and I didn't know they had a hair salon there because it is kinda hidden. Michael is the guy! I've been getting my hair cut and colored by Michael for  8 years now and have referred friends and family who have also become regular clients over the years. He is a seasoned professional and amazing colorist. I am new to Studio 6 however, and I found it to be a great boutique salon!  Great atmosphere, intimate vibe and very clean, fresh and a hint modern even though the building is historic. This place is absolutely charming!  They even serve refreshments, I'm looking forward to my next visit with Michael! Read Less

Two reviews (in brief: Brazilian waxes and Eyelash extensions):** I have been seeing Taylor for my hair removal needs for 2+ years now, and I LOVE her. She is sweet, funny, witty, and oh yeah, very gentle, quick, and thorough with the Brazilian. Honestly the best waxing experience I've had, every time. I have recommended her to many friends, and I'm heartbroken that I'm moving outta town. (Maybe I'll return every six weeks?!)** I also have recently begun seeing Jessica for eyelash extensions, and she is also wonderful. She is thorough, patient, and meticulous, and very kindhearted and funny. She always gives me great recommendations, whether they're for "subtle" lashes, or the "f*#% yeah, I'm turning 30!"I think I have 2 big reasons to come back to Phoenix after I move away. I recommend both beautiful women wholeheartedly! Read Less

I found this place through Groupon. It was my first time using a Groupon for a salon service, I had a gel mani and a pedi, and only the second time using a Groupon at all. I was a bit skeptical as I'm a firm believer of "you get what you pay for" but it seemed like a great deal and I decided to give it a go. When I called to make an appointment I was informed they were a "Boutique" salon, I'm pretty certain that's the fancy word they prefer over "tiny."  When I pulled up to the parking lot I was impressed. The outside is charming and I was instantly excited for my service (at an awesome price!). When you walk inside you realize just how tiny it is. I was the only customer there so it didn't bother me that there were salon chairs 10 feet away from me. However, all I kept thinking about was how awful it would have been to come in for a relaxing pedicure and instead be welcomed with the deafening sound of blow dryers, 10 feet away! Now for my service, Andrea was really nice she greeted me and offered me a glass of Sangria which I accepted. I made myself comfortable in the pedicure chair and remembered my Groupon. Before my service started, I mentioned it to her at which point I instantly saw her demeanor change. It was a little uncomfortable and I was still hoping for a great mani/ pedi so I asked about the difference in the service and she stated that my pedi would not include a scrub, massage or callous remover - the value of my Groupon certainly dropped. That literally equivalates to a cuticle removal and polish change. I ended up paying extra for the add on charge as I was still determined to have a great pedi. She started the service but I never got my Sangria (probably because of the Groupon). In a way I understand, however she'd already offered it and it would have been nice to be given the choice to BUY a glass which I would have gladly done as I was still getting a now "good deal."  My pedicure was OK and we moved on to the manicure. This, ladies and mani/pedi loving gents, is where I was shocked. She escorted me to a room with a high top table (probably from Ikea) that literally looked like a spare walk in closet turned into salon in someone's home. Complete 360 from the look of the pedi chairs which, if that's the only thing you look at, makes the place look like a real salon. I noticed she cleaned her cuticle clippers with rubbing alcohol and I was really hoping that they had been previously sanitized. These are the same clippers she later cut me with. When she pulled out the gel manicure lamp, I almost wanted to opt for a regular polish. It has to be the dirtiest lamp I have ever seen. I was genuinely concerned with how sanitary it was and then I started wondering about the pedi bowl.... Now I was getting worried... I probably should have gotten up and left but I kept telling myself not to overreact and that I was just being a salon snob. During my service she was on her phone. She took a call and multiple texts. Definitely  not professional but what bothered me the most is that she didn't even silence her phone. I could hear each time she got a text. As she was finishing with my mani, a new customer walked in and she walked out to greet them. When I was leaving, I noticed the woman sitting in the pedi chair I had just been in. Having previously worked in the spa industry for 4 years, I know there is NO way she had time to clean the bowl. By this point I was deeply regretting my choice to visit this place and was just dying to get out and pray that I didn't get an infection. In the end I walked out feeling like I had just gone to a friends house to have her do my nails and paid her too much as a courtesy. Lessons learned:1. Don't buy Groupons as this is obviously a tactic to bring people in and you don't get quality service 2. Go with your gut instinct. I should have known from her reaction to the Groupon that this was not going to be what I hoped for. 3. You really do get what you pay for Hopefully the salon will: 1. Pay attention to the cleanliness and sanitation of its products. 2. Stop offering Groupons if they clearly don't like people using them. Read Less
