I started going to Bao almost a year ago after moving to AZ and could not be happier with my hair. He is incredibly skilled and attentive and gives a perfect cut that lasts for months and is easy to style in a variety of ways. Prior to moving, I had gone to the same stylist for 8 years because I was too afraid to trust anyone else, but Bao consistently impresses with his careful layering to bring out the best my hair can look. In the past few months I finally took the plu...nge to get my hair dyed, which I had never done before. His balayage techniques are impeccable, leaving a very smooth transition from my brunette hair to the lightened parts so it grows out and fades without requiring a ton of maintenance. Each time, he has used different shades of pink to achieve my "vision" for pink hair, and i have truly loved the experience and experimenting. I've been Bao's customer for as long as I can remember, dating back to when he was just an amateur. The reason he's stayed my hairstylist is due to his incredible diligence and punctuality. This is a person you can count on when you need an excellent haircut or if you need an opinion on what would look great with you. He's also dyed my hair and my brothers hair several times, the colors are extreme and always involving heavy bleaching. However, Bao doesn't stray from taking great strides to protecting a customers hair. If he knows your hair cannot handle a certain product, he WILL caution you twice or more, unlike other salons.So to sum it up, if you're looking for a professional hair stylist, Bao's the guy you're looking for! I first visited Bao Do at the Salon D'Shayn Scottsdale location back in March.  I have been back twice since then.  Now I will follow him as he relocates to the new Phoenix salon when it opens in July.My search has finally ended for a men's stylist that can create a look that is equally as flattering in the office as it is out at dinner or social events and even holds up during outdoor activities.His attention to detail is unmatched as is his ability to take some basic guidance and use that to create an individual style that is contemporary and personal, yet timeless. Well, I wouldn't know how great their services are supposed to be in accordance with the reviewers, but in the area of being proactive in communication, it's a straight fail!!! Google shows the salon being open for business on Sunday, so I called several times prior to taking a LYFT to get there, figured wow they must be really busy, they can't get to the phone. I just needed to get a manicure, since my schedule was tight and I didn't have much time in PHX to scout around, figured maybe they can squeeze me in before its too late. Well lo and behold, upon my arrival I see 2 ladies, each styling the only 2 customers in the salon. They were not overburdened with a ton of customers, so why couldn't the phone be answered for business???? Which in turn would have saved me an unnecessary LYFT ride to the salon, just to be informed that their nail technician was not in today! A friend and I had an appointment for a Brazillian Wax on a Thursday afternoon. This would be the 1st wax for both of us. We arrived at 12pm for the 1st appointment. Once in the waxing room, I was told that the hair was not long enough to wax. When originally booking the appointment, I was told to let the hair grow for 5 days. So, I went 7 days just to be sure. The owner informed me that the usual time period is 10-14 days. I told her the name of the associate who gave me the wrong information. Once I got to the front, she told me she spoke with the associate. I was told that the associate denied giving the information that was given to me. So, basically, she was calling me a liar. It was very unfortunate that I was given incorrect information, got a babysitter and paid a babysitter and was not able to have the services done. I would have scheduled myself out another week had I been informed correctly. It was a wasted day and wasted money. Please train your employees on proper time frames and information to give to new customers. It would save a headache and a poor review. Read Less

I love this salon. I switched from another salon and am so happy that I did. My teen and I both go here now and we both love our stylist Nadine. My kid and I both have very thick, challenging hair. The kid's is also long and curly, so also extra challenging. Nadine has us schedule extra time so she is not rushed and can spend the extra time that our hair requires. The kid recently had a blue and purple balayage, and loves it. She gets tons of compliments from her friends and the color is going strong after more than 6 weeks. We couldn't be more pleased. I truly love this salon. I have always been treated courteously and promptly. The second I walk in I am greeted and asked if I need something to drink. Vanessa, my hair stylist is the absolute BEST. I always get compliments on my hair. The owner, D'Lisa is a riot! She makes me laugh and I love getting my waxing services done with her.
