I love this place! Dean did a great job with my nails, and helped me pick colors that I loved. The price is average for the services, and the place is clean and friendly. Dean noticed that my nails were lifting, and repaired them, unlike so many other salons that just don't care and do the job as quickly as possible without concern for quality. Not the worst nail job I've ever had but definitely nowhere near the best. The appearance of this place is FANTASTIC. The building is well maintained and they are a clean facility. HOWEVER, unfortunately I'm not paying for the luxury looks. The price you are paying is ABOVE AVERAGE. The quality of the manicure/pedicure is not up to par, My nails were chipping the day after I had them done. I was visiting Phoenix and I needed a fill and a pedicure. I did some research and found this place. I have always gotten my nails done by one person for 10 years and I am very picky. I even told the girl who answered the phone. She put me with Lan and all I can say is WOW! She did amazing work and if I lived here, she would be my nail girl. I have been going to the polish room for almost a year now, and am always pleased with every visit. The staff is always very friendly and They have many colors to choose from unlike most nail salons. The salon it's self is SUPER clean and organized. I usually always go to Misa, and she always gets the shape spot on and does an awesome job at any designs I throw at her. They never short time you on pedicures either and give you the time and quality you want. I LOVE POLISH ROOM. This is one of the nicer nail salons in the Glendale/Peoria/North Phoenix area. The salon is very modern, painted mostly white. You sit at a "bar" to get your manicure done. They always offer free water and are quick to get you in and out.Every time I go, I get the SNS nail polish. It doesn't require a UV-light and is better for your skin. The process takes longer because they have to do multiple coats, but the nail polish doesn't chip. I will go 2-3 weeks without getting them re-done.Only downside: this location is always busy. I do hair so I've never gotten a manicure (I just mess them up the next day every time) but each time I've gotten a pedicure the employee working on my gross dancer feet has done a great job. I used to love the polish room, I do not anymore. They are fantastic, up until they make a mistake. I came in with an entire hour to get a fill, then I had to make it to a class. They got me in 15 minutes after my appointment, then switched techs on me three times with lots of annoying in between moments. Needless to say they couldn't finish my nails in time, so I had to leave, they only charged me $20 but nobody ever said sorry or said that I could come get them finished for... free. Why not??! I made an appointment for two days later at the door to get them finished and no one acknowledged how crappy the situation was. I came back for my appointment, this time they started on me 11 minutes late. Again, no basic customer service apologies. They try and charge me $20 again, I'm shocked. That added to what I paid last time is FIVE DOLLARS MORE than the service. So I have to come back and get my nails done in two separate trips and they try to over charge me??? So that's when I finally voiced my irritation and explained the situation again to the receptionist, saying that I think it should just be free. All she could offer me was the regular price that I was supposed to pay anyway. Ha! Can you believe that? So yeah I paid and left, and unfortunately I won't be returning. Me and some girlfriends came in for some much needed "mommy & me" time! The Polish Room was super welcoming and accommodated all 5 of us right away without having an appointment! I love the "nail bar" opposed to separate desks or tables. It was super fun to be able to sit & chat with your friends & your nail technician. The gentleman who did mine was fabulous!! Originally I had loved going here. The staff is all super friendly and nice. But.... every visit they try to get you to add services or upgrade to gel polish. Last month I went in intending to get gel polish. To be able to match the polish on my toes from the pedicure, the girl started giving me a powder polish bc she said that they didn't have any gel that would match my toes. She told me how much better it was than gel polish. I said okay. I just figured since she didn't te...ll me there was a price difference it cost the same as gel. It cost $40, $10 more than gel. I though okay, a little extravagant but it was nice polish. Went there yesterday to have the powder polish removed bc it was rock hard and I had no clue how to remove it. Of course, they kept asking 'are you sure you don't want a manicure too?' I decided okay I would but with just regular old fashioned polish. The girl kept trying to convince me to do gel polish showing me her nails. I said no. And she kept asking if my 5 year old wanted her nails done too..... The buffing block she used gave me a nice slice cut in my pinky finger, ouch! Got done with manicure. They charged me an additional $8 on top of the $15 for manicure to remove the powder polish. Shouldn't that cost be included in manicure (I though to myself)??? I asked the receptionist and she just said 'uh uh it's because the powder polish is more difficult to remove.' Tried going to the shops at norterra but they were all booked. Found this place on yelp it was close and figured it was worth a shot. Got to the salon and told it would be 5-10 minutes wait and they were busy. A few minutes later, maybe 2 if that, they had me and my friend seated at stations next to each other. They offered us water and the nail techs were able to recreate online nail designs perfectly or create their own based on a few key points. The guy I had was funny, sweet and kept singing along with the songs just having a good time. He massaged my arms to the beat of uptown funk and it was awesome. The overall decor was very chic and reminiscent of a high class bar but with nail products instead of liquor. Definitely going back. Compared to all of the other nail salons within the 2 mile radius I definitely like polish room the best! The staff was all very welcoming and kind. I LOVE the "nail bar" as opposed to separate desks. It was fun to sit around and chat amongst eachother. I didn't give it 5 stars because the color selection process was very disorganized. They dropped off a box of color options (after my nails were wrapped in foil) so as I struggled to sort through the colors I decided on one and the technician told me that they were unable to do that color and will not be getting it back. I don't see why it would be inside if the box if they cannot do it. When I picked out my replacement color I soon found out that it was color changing after she painted it on my nails. I have been going regularly to the Polish Room for 2+ years now and I have not had one bad experience. I recommend seeing Tom for nails and Pauline for your feet. Both do an outstanding job! Prior to having Tom do my nails, they were always left sore. I have not had this problem since seeing Tom. After hearing great reviews from friends I needed a fill today and decided to pop in and give them a try. It was fairly busy but they got me in right away on a Friday which was fantastic. My immediate feel of the place was that it is super clean and everyone was really friendly. It's pretty modern and I love the bar type seating for manicures. My nail tech was Ally. Not only was she super sweet but she was an awesome nail tech! I got a gel manicure and she took my old gel off gently and gave me a beautiful deep purple fill. Let me start this by saying I have gotten acrylic nails many times before. But this? this was the worst. (I have spoken with several nail salons and showed them what i am dealing with. They have all come to the same conclusion- my nails were filed way too short, thank you polish room)I will say that they did a beautiful job on my nails after a 20 minute conversation about the fact that i wanted colored powder, not nail polish over the clear powder. but, that beautiful job only lasted a very short time. two weeks in my nails started breaking. My REAL nails. ripping in half, bloody, painful, and absolutely looking disgusting. I had to take time off of work because I work with my hands and the blood and infection these nails caused me was completely unsanitary. I tried to soak them in polish remover when i realized what was happening, however my nails were so thin and fragile that it caused me extreme pain, and thus the nails had to stay on. No nail salon wants to file them off because of how thin and fragile they are. ALL of my nails have torn far below where the skin meets the nail. ALL of them have been bloody, and painful, to the point where a simple task such as washing my hair has become nearly impossible. I went and got a fill done by kris 2 weeks ago, the day after the gel polish was chipping off of my nails and now other fingers are doing it. I have never had this happen before this was my first time there I am going to give this place another try but if the polish lifts again I am not going back. I went with my daughter on saturday,our first time.... I'll be lucky if I don't have fungus or mold under my nails!!! First of all , the set I have should've been removed and a new set put on, now my real nails are grown almost to tip of acrylic and showing out the sides... when I showed her that there was dirt building up n stuff she giggled and filed under my nails which now have bubbled in some spots and separated from acrylic where water is being trapped.. Second of all, ...I tried to tell her my nails are clearly flare tip, she again giggles as she literally filed one side of one of my nails straight she filed off one side of the "flare"... Friday I will be going to another nail shop and if I do have fungus or mold, I'm suing! Walked in at 3pm on Saturday, expecting a long wait to get a mani and pedi, however to my surprise, I was seated for my pedi right away. Ally came over and introduced herself and we immediately starting chatting. She was simply AMAZING!!! Ally was so attentive, listened to what I wanted, took her time and paid attention to detail -- and she didn't try to up-sell me on anything (quite refreshing!) She did a fabulous job on my pedicure, and I showed her a photo of what I liked, and she made it reality. For my mani, I must say this was by far one of the best mani's I have had in my life! Now you need to understand that I VERY rarely have a manicure, because I absolutely hate the way nail techs usually file my nails -- I like them "square" (yes, razor sharp on the edges), not the square look with rounded edges aka round. I was completely shocked that Ally actually LISTENED to what I wanted and shaped my nails perfectly to my liking. Then I showed her another photo of Thanksgiving nail art I had found online that I wanted to replicate... and wouldn't you know it, she did!!! I absolutely LOVE my nails -- both mani and pedi -- and I've gotten a ton of compliments already (which goes to show how amazing Ally did my nails!)Additionally, I was pleased to see that everyone in the salon spoke English and didn't make you feel out of place or like the nail techs are talking about you. The owner, Ben, also walked around to make sure everything was going smoothly, and even gave me a towel since I was freezing (I get cold easily, and their awesome ventilation system to ensure you're not inhaling chemicals works so great that it made me cold. This place is fantastic! I loved my pedicure! Pamela was gentle with my feet and didn't try to up sell me like the other places I go to. She made a cute little pink flower design which I loved. As for my gel manicure, I also loved that! I couldn't decide on what color but I went with hot pink...you know..cuz I wanted summa time nails! I didn't catch the girls name but she was also very gentle and friendly. I think she was amazed at my nails because my nails are naturally healthy and fabulous. Anyway, she didn't rush me, took her time, and did great. I think the girls may need to practice shaping stiletto nails better. That's the only semi problem I can think of. But it's no big deal.
