This place is so professional and every dress to impress! I love the ambience, vibe and professionalism! As a guy, I sometimes feel intimidated to get a pedicure but i instantly feel comfortable when I walked through the doors! Right when I walked in, I was greeted politely and with a warm smile! So let me start with I have NEVER had a pedicure in my life. I decided to give my wife a "spa day" as she is starting a new job. She asked me to do the Pedi with her. I agreed. When I first walked in I saw a handful of expensive whiskeys and got all excited until my wife informed me they were decoration only! The disappointment that rang down on me. Not a good start. 1 star. Then we were asked to pick a color on the wall for my wife's nails. There were tons to choose from. 4 stars. We go to our seats and they sit us down and I soak my feet in the water. Nice and warm with jets. 5 stars. Then they show me I have a messaging chair! What?!?! At this point I forgot about the whiskey at the front of the salon. We choose the spa deluxe pedi option at $40. My feet were sure needing the callous removal. Unfortunately my feet are extremely ticklish and it was tough to keep calm but after 10 minutes of scrapping, the tickling was over. 4 stars. Then they grab some oranges and cream and exfoliate my lower leg. Nice calf message. 5 stars. About 30 minutes later they told me it was done. What a relief. I was really scared for the tickling but that lasted only a few minutes. It was not painful, which was also a fear of mine. It was a place that looked clean with a modern design to it and was comfortable for me as a guy. We have been visiting from Canada for 1 month now, enjoying everything Arizona has to offer. I decided I needed a nail fill. ...My husband and I were at Costco and I noticed Lux Nail Bar on our way out so I decided to pop in.....BIG MISTAKE! I walked in, explained what I wanted to a female. She said they had time (one customer) , I asked the price, she then called over a male, he looked at my nails and said $33.00. I said "great" and went to tell my husband to pick me up in 1 hr. I went back in and a lady said "you have ombré", I said "yes". She said he does a great job. He I believe was Steven...the same male who looked at my nails and said 33.00. He then says "55.00"! I said "no" you told me 33.00. He then said "that is just for these colours". I said fine and picked a colour for 33.00. He starts working on my nails making critical remarks about how they were done in Canada. ( I have been having my nails done for a long time). I defended our nail technicians and he started to back track on what he was saying. He then told me that I had to pick a colour from a different batch of colours...what?? you said the other ones were for 33.00! He said " no, these ones. There was not a nice colour to be had. He left a big chunk of old nail at the end....I was like ",what is this? He said we do things different then Canada....they looked horrendous! I said "what do I owe you ",he said "nothing" and I walked out. My nails look horrendous but I am going to wait until I get home. i just never been to such terrible nail place before, went there on last Saturday for the first try. not only the emplyees who are so busy, the mamager who did polish my nails were not paying attention to me at all. at least went to the others for three times, i felt treated like nothing. then he did the paraphen was on my hand, not carefully split the hot wax on my shirt n jeans. after all that i went home to wash my clothes, trying to get the wax off my jacket. too bad it staiNed after all that. Every time I go there I am rushed to pick a color, I'm not asked questions like is this the right color for you, would you like a design, etc...not very friendly staff, and they are always sick when doing my nails. I was just in yesterday with my mother treating her out and we did not have a great experience. They didn't let us see more color choices for our nails. I asked the lady doing my nails what she thought about how I should do my nails with the idea I presented her and she shouted out, "whatever, it's whatever....". I was upset. Came in today for a walk in gel mani-pedi and got seated right away! The place is very clean and nice. Tom, (I'm assuming is the owner) greeted me with a smile and made me feel very welcome :) Tiffany took care of my mani-pedi and did a fantastic job! I came in after work around 3:45p - greeted from the time I walked in and seated immediately with Ivy. Ivy was very funny, professional and she was very quick when it came to my Gel Manicure and it came out perfect! Lux is very clean and organized. I came here with my 3-year-old hoping to get a mother/daughter mani/pedi, my daughter's first. I sat down for my pedicure and the staff was super friendly with me and my daughter, who was being very shy. They politely tried many times to make her open up and let them paint her to no avail. Nevertheless, they were very understanding and patient with my daughter insisting on sitting in my lap, even when she got in the way while they prepped my nails for a manicure. When it came time for my gel manicure, my daughter had relaxed but still didn't want her nails painted, so she watched videos on my phone. The staff was, again, incredibly patient and kind about me stopping to assist her, and they had a sense of humor about her rolling around on the floor at one point. The woman doing my nails was very attentive to me and made sure she was giving me exactly what I wanted with my nails. I'm now 15 days out from my mani/pedi day and my toes and nails STILL look great, with minimal lifting on the gel. This is the longest I've ever had gel stay in good shape! I had my old acrylics removed and a new set applied. I told the nail tech that I wanted to keep the same shape & length, but she changed them completely. They ended up 1/4" shorter and in an uneven coffin shape. When I tried to tell her she argued with me about what "oval" was (not sure what difference it makes when she'd already seen what my nails looked like when I came in). I ended up getting the powder with a clear coat & it was $60! For less than 30 minutes work?! And now to add insult to injury, my thumb nail has a crack right down the middle. Read Less

I started coming here a few months ago and everyone is very very friendly! Especially Tom, always very accommodating. Unfortunately, I went in today because the acrylic fill I had gotten 6 days prior did not last. They were lifting and popping off. Debbie at the front desk said the person who did my fill was not working today and asked if I could come back tomorrow but I told of her I worked. She proceeded to tell me I could come back next week!!! Next week??? It's Wednesday Debbie c'mon now you're being rude. So I asked her if someone else could fix my nails and she blatantly told me no! I made the mistake of coming here over the weekend because I needed to get my nails done last minute for the holiday and the place I normally go was closed (again reasonably for the holiday) I made an appointment here the day before to make sure they had room as I know they would be packed before Christmas. Walking in the salon is nice and clean so I had high hopes for this place. My nail tech was Steven and right off... the bat he was very rude and harsh. About a year ago I lost most of my finger tip in an accident and the nail has grown in differently and that particular finger is extremely sensitive to pressure and filing so much so I ask that they just paint it nothing else. Steven told me that they only way to remove the previous polish was to file it off, I have NEVER had an issue with just soaking the polish off with acetone and Steven refused to accommodate and was very rough in handling that hand. The acrylics and paint where horrible and sloppy. The full set costs $50, and was not nearly worth it. I went back the next day to have it fixed, Steven filed the sides down and threw a clear coat on. The clear coat spread and the side of my nails where now exposed as he did not bother to repaint. To top it off he was again very rude and clearly annoyed I was asking him to fix. I called and spoke to Tom he was nice however advised they do not do refunds and it is policy that the same tech re-dos the mistake. My favorite nail salon in Arizona. The owners Tom and Debbie had a salon In Ahwatukee years ago  and I've been going to them since then. Tom is always friendly and doing his best to accommodate to the customers needs even though the customers don't deserve it at times. This salon is high end therefore it will be a little pricier. It is so worth it though! However, I suggest everyone to try out the delux pedicure. It includes a sugar scrub, then the tech will wash off the scrub worn fresh oranges. Followed by mask and hot towels and a massage. For my nails, I usually go to becky. She's awesome at doing the coffin shaped nails. I also like nina or Tammy for my pedicures. Vicky was AMAZING! She did SNS on my nails and a pedicure with matching polish. She was very nice and had great conversation. I loved how gentle she was with my nails. They’re usually very fragile and tear when using acetone to remove old SNS but she was attentive to each nail making sure they weren’t soaking too much in it. They’re shaped perfectly, my skin feels amazing, the color is a perfect match on my toes, and I would recommend Vicky & the whole Lux staff to everyone! Lux was OK, I had a pedi, which looked good and lasted for many weeks. I thought the technician was pretty apathetic but then she trimmed my fingernails and did a quick file for free.The fragrance of the lotion they use really didn't appeal to me and I have migraines so I avoid smells I don't respond to but that is a personal thing. I came in based on the reviews and i had broken a nail my normal nail place was closed. Let me start with i am not a nail tech. I was greeted right away by tom I explained I needed a repair and i had an appointment at 430 for a massage.  Steven my nail tech started asking me questions about nails where did I get them done ?Did I do them at home? omg I can't believe it they look so bad you need all off ect ect.  I know my needed a fill but come on. He said he do a fill fast enough so i say ok  After the 3rd time of him asking who did my nails I said I did them at home . Which then brought on more questions about if my friend did them or I did. Finally I said why does all this matter? Well then it became awkward as we sat in silence sitting across each other avoiding eye contact as he kept slamming his little glass ball. As my nails are drying he goes over to tom and i can tell he is talking shit. He is done in less than 20 min. I get charged 25 which is fine with me and i even tipped in cash 5. I tell tom sorry I made him mad then tom asks me if I am a nail tech i roll my eyes and say yes then he starts asking where i work I said I just wanted my nail fixed.  This place is clean no stations a long granite slab instead. I was very disappointed with this place. I went with two friends, one got some kind of fake nails and the other got plain polish like me. The tech tried to upsell me on gel polish and when I refused he became visibly upset and proceeded to do a terrible job with my nails. He quickly filed my nails and now they are uneven, he didn't put a base coat under the color so it chipped within two hours, and he didn't wait for my color to dry before slapping the base coat on so it smudged near the top of my nails. I can also see where he didn't even try to get the top coat even, it doesn't reach the base of my nail or the sides of my nail on most of my nails. After he was done with the top coat he put some lotion on my arms and walked away. In contrast, my friend who was also just getting polish had time in between the color and the top coat, and they gave her a towel beneath her hands and a fan to help her nails dry. I think the moral of the story certainly is to find a different salon if you just want a manicure, clearly these people only want to do expensive  fake nails or gel polish. Read Less

The guy who worked on my nails was rushing. I came in with a friend and both got a gel manicure. He finished mine in half the time. So he starts with buffing my nail and buffs it super short then asked me if I chewed my nails... lol no? My favorite part was when he was buffing the top of my nail and buffed a chunk of my meat off my pinky. Thanks dude, my manicure looks great with a bandaid.Curious... I've received multiple pedicures here and I'd say the work is always great but the customer experience isn't good at all. I've received a couple of rude nail techs and there is often a major communication barrier. They seem pretty annoyed that they have to service you at all most of the time. It makes me personally uncomfortable to have someone in a bad mood performing services on me. That said, great quality pedis that last 2-3 weeks (or more!). I've come here a couple of times before to have SNS done. Kim was my nail tech each time...absolutely No Issues..she was Very Sweet. Today, I had my appt with Lynn..from the moment I sat down @ her station she made me feel very Unwelcome. 1.) I let her know 2 of my nails were tips and did Not need to be soaked off.....she soaks both off.2.] On 1 of the other nails, which is mine she tried prying it off. I insisted it was mine and wasn't comong off. She copped attitude and started speaking in her language to Cam. I quickly interrupted her asking her "what she was saying" for her to muffle something then say "your nail I thought was a tip"...3.) At no time in the entire hour and change did she even try and have a friendly conversation with me,  just constantly talking with the other worker. If I return I will NOT bless her with my services nor my monetary tip. I will be going to Kim or another. Word of advice Ms Lynn.. you chose this profession, which  is a Huge area of Customer Service....learn skills on just that Customer Service...talk to your Clients and believe them when they tell you "it's their real Nails"). They didn't leave my nails in the light long enough and they barely did any coats. Usually I can get my gel nails to last 6+ weeks and these barely made it a week. What a joke. I've been to Lux Nail Bar on separate occasions & have left very pleased with the results. I've only gotten a full set of nails, so this review is only for that service. I like their full sets more than the ones at other salons because the product they use there seems to be of better quality. I've not had any problems with nails lifting or chipping!Additionally, the nail salon is super clean & they get you in with a short wait or no wait when you have an appointment (I haven't done a walk-in). It hasn't been too busy during the times I've had my nails done but I'd recommend getting an appointment just in case. My only criticism is that the prices are a bit higher than other places but as previously mentioned, since the quality is good, I am a repeat customer! Read Less

Lux nail bar puts the lux in luxurious. Best pedicure I've had in my life!Visiting family in chandler and needed a R&R and although I came way after closing they were so kind to take me in.Their deluxe mani pedi is highly recommended. Truly, if it's your first time get yourself this experience. A massage after paraffin wax is common, as is a relaxing scented exfoliator, but fresh oranges to moisturize after an exfoliation before a paraffin massage?I've never experienced anything like this. This is truly spa quality, like a tropical vacation spa experience.If you get the chance to come here schedule with Michael he is so meticulous with every tiny detail to cuticle the perfect mani pedicure.I'd give this salon 10 stars if I could. Lux is definitely one of the best inexpensive nail salons in the valley. Sometimes, getting my nails done gives me a little anxiety, because of the need for perfection and hoping I can be relaxed while entrusting others with my nails and getting my monies worth. Im relieved to have found this nail salon after many unfavorable experiences around the valley. The staff is 10/10 amiable of my visits (of which there has been many), affordability is reasonable, and they always take their time with each client (something I value since most salons care more about quantity of clients than quality of experience per client these days). My first visit with Becky was great!! The second time I took my 5yr old granddaughter to have her nails "painted" as a Christmas gift. The very next day her polish began peeling off NOT chipping Literally peeling off each nail. Since I spent over $100 on the two of us I felt it warranted a phone call and possibly a credit toward my next visit. She insisted this happens with the kids sometimes. Well it never happened at any other salon she's gone to. The lady would not give me a credit toward my next visit and offered to re-do my granddaughter. C'mon it was a special holiday treat gone bad. If I could give a zero, I would. Just had a delux pedi here. When it was time to go, I got up from the massage chair to leave and slipped in a giant puddle of water which had been left on the marble floor by "Cam," who provided my service. How embarrassing and painful!!! Oh and guess what? They didn't even reduce the price of the service...I just didn't leave a tip.
