She took good care of me throughout the whole process. She took a hair color sample I brought in and matched it perfectly herself. This a color bar so they control the pigments. I have now went to The Hair and Color Bar 4 times and seen 4 different stylist and not once have I been disappointed! My most recent experience was yesterday, March 6th, with Kylie. When I first got there, she asked me what I wanted done. I already had dark hair dye in my hair, but I wanted something lighter. Kylie explained that it would be a really long process, but said she had the time and was willing to do it. I was in the salon for 6 hours, but she ensured that I was st...ill good to go the whole time and continuously asked if I needed anything. When she was washing my hair for what we thought was the final time, she noticed some spots that came out redder than the rest. Rather than leaving them, she mixed up what seemed like the 100th bowl of color and made sure I didn’t come out with splotches of miscolored hair! If you are ok with inexperienced people experimenting with hair color on your hair go to this place. I went in for lavender/blue highlights and ended up with green and pink/red swamp monster hair. The fix was to re bleach my hair and re Color it a darker color that I hated. I was in the salon for 8 hours. The owner said to come back in and I could PAY to have them fix it. I decided not to have MORE color/bleach put in my hair after it started falling out from my day long coloring nightmare. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Read Less

Katelynn did an AMAZING job on my hair. I’m obsessed with how it turned out. This salon is very clean and the people there are so nice, friendly and try to help however they can. I was there for awhile (4-5 hours) and the time flew because everyone was having a great time, great conversations, everyone helping each other. She talked me through what she was doing, every step of the way. I wasn’t expecting that, but it was really nice to feel included on the process of what was going on with my hair. She let me know when we were adding some more color because more color obviously means it’s gonna cost a little more and I really appreciated the fact that she told me, she didn’t have to but she did, she wasn’t trying to be sneaky or anything about it. I was really impressed with the service I got from Kylie...I really felt pampered. She started my appointment by giving me a neck and shoulder massage (um awesome) Then she listened to what I had in mind for my hair, looked at the pictures I had, and we came up with a plan. She really seemed to know alot about the chemistry of hair color, even co workers were asking her mixing questions. She made sure I was comfortable the whole appt and had a little snack tray for me while the color processed. Then she rinsed and used toner and gave my scalp a fantastic massage so long that I dozed off. She even massaged my hands as the toner set up. First time at The Hair and Color Bar....Not the greatest experience, and I don't think I will go back...I went in for barely any color- just a slight balayage, and was convinced to add a trim. I have short hair and barely ANY color was used for this, but the total came out to $153, which seems insanely pricey. Additionally, I did not care for how much the pushed their hair care products just to make money and were basically salesman trying to sell Aveda. Mariah was very nice and personable, but I left very unhappy about my hair. The color came out VERY copper/orange colored, even after she toned it.  Also, I specifically asked for her NOT to color all the way up to my roots, yet she did, right in front of my face where the ugly copper REALLY sticks out. Her trim job was good at least.I will say, the salon is very cute and organized. Their products smell great and the ladies in there seem really nice.  That's mostly why I am giving it 2 stars. This place is a little hidden gem. Everyone was so friendly and down to earth. I had Kaitlyn as my stylist she told me that she had started as an apprentice at that shop and that everyone there was her teacher at first I was worried when she told me how young she was and didn't have as much experience but I was not disappointed she was actually very knowledgeable and she explained  what she was doing as she went along which assured me she was very knowledgeable, I really appreciated her honesty and how she was not afraid to ask her coworkers for a second opinion. My color turned out great much better than the high dollar salon I had been going to. I really liked how attentive all the stuff was  they interacted with all the clients and made us feel like we were special. Each stylist had a client while I was there it was later in the day on a weekend and there were walk-ins coming in and all the walk-ins were squeezed in no one waited very long at all and they were treated just as special.I think I found my new Salon! It is scary having to start all over with a new hairdresser, especially when you love your old one. Luckily for me, I got Katelynn as my hairdresser. She not only gave me the color and cut I asked for but she made sure my hair was not damaged. Let's not forget that she was patient and amazing with my 4 year old. I've been looking for someone who is comfortable cutting thick curly hair for a long time. Ema was terrific. Being a curly girl herself she understands the horrible pouf and the triangle head that happens with bad chopping jobs. I made a random appointment, last minute and was able to get in.  My appointment was with Katelynn.  From the time I walked in I felt very comfortable.  It was clean and professional.  Katelynn was amazing, she explained everything as she went and was knowledgeable about her product and confident about what she was doing.  I had my roots touched up.  Along with the service, they bring you water, tea, coffee, whatever you want and a cup of mixed nuts.  To top it off she gave a neck and hand massage.  It was completely refreshing to not be "herded" in, rushed and hustled out.  I will be back for sure and my color turned out PERFECT!!! Needing a new stylist, we booked appointments here for a bang trim and men's hair cut. He has natural curly hair and takes some expertise to get it right.
