I've always liked the skin bar, and have visited every time I've flown through in the last 3 years.  They keep a pleasant, clean atmosphere with friendly staff.  They pick skilled stylists... my only issue with the last 3 cuts - with 3 different stylists (not by choice) - is they didn't seem to listen... my hair still came out cute, but wasn't totally what I wanted, though I tried my best to communicate. Last visit I did request a specific stylist, but this was changed without my knowledge and then I ended up with a style I wasn't looking for... for this reason, along with an ever-changing staff, I'm trying a new salon.  Overall, though, the place is above average and worth a shot. (On a side note to the business, maybe reconsider follow-up calls from the stylists themselves b/c it can be awkward if one does not want the same stylist - the task seems better suited for a receptionist.) Amazing Staff. Very friendly. Had my first bikini wax done and Robyn was very kind and efficient. Last weekend she did my makeup and hair as well. A+ on everything. I also would like to thank Michaela for doing my nails - still look great even after being a week old, and going out quite a few times. And thank you to Maddie who did my shampoo/blowout and curled my hair! It all looked fantastic, and I definitely suggest going here. Everyone was super friendly no matter what the service. The only flaw I’ve run into is the pricing - everything is so expensive, unless you’re lucky and run into their monthly specials. My back was in pain from my physical job, I needed a massage bad! So I called the skin bar and theyre able to fit me in with Mel. She did a fantastic job and I love her wonderful positive attitude! I followed my trusted and true friend/aesthetician here. No, we aren't friends outside of her profession - however, I feel so comfortable around her that it's weird to call her anything but a friend! The Skin Bar Spa is like an everything bagel but without the carbs! The place looks and feels clean. The product line available for sale is good stuff (some of it is is imported!) I started going to The Skin Bar for massage therapy after I dislocated my shoulder and Melanie is a miracle worker.  She always takes the time to listen to what's going on and gives excellent advice on things to do, once your massage is done, to help with the pain.  In the beginning I was going 3-4 times a week just so I could move but now I just do the maintenance and it is still great.  When you walk in the door you are always greeted warmly and made to feel like there is no where else you belong.  Their entire staff is great! I flew in from the bush and was only in Anchorage a few hours before I had to catch my flight out of state to go on vacation.I walked in an hour before closing, and being a hairy woman all summer, I asked if I could get as much done as they could since I'd be living in a bathing suit for 2 weeks.Robin did everything I had wanted in less than an hour! She did a fantastic job and wasn't rushed or irritated at me coming in last minute for an almost full body wax.She got in a brow wax/tint, under arm wax, Brazilian and half leg. All that only cost $150ish; I was expecting it to be more, so was happily surprised.All of the staff went above and beyond to make it all work out, and they pulled it off flawlessly (literally and figuratively).The rare times I'm in the big city, I will definitely go back to the Skin Bar. I just had an excellent time with my favorite nail technician Terri at The Skin Bar! The atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. I got to enjoy quiet conversation and listen to relaxing music in a private room while I was pampered with a Soft As Silk Pedicure and The Perfect Ten Manicure with Gel Polish. I can't wait until I get to go back in a few weeks. The Skin Bar is amazing!! It's a beautiful, clean, and extremely relaxing spa - that takes the extra time & care to truly make sure their clients are happy and well taken care of. Anna was extremely pleasant and made sure my wax was perfect! This was my first time visiting this spa. I live in the Virgin Islands, a place where you would think it would be easy to find a great place to schedule a wax, but the truth is the Skin Bar blew in any places in the Virgin Islands for a wax out of the water! I bought a discounted voucher thru Yelp that "saved" me $25 off an $80 service which I thought was going to be a good deal. However, I am leaving with hair that has a green tint to it (the hair stylist said she wasn't used to the line of hair color they used) and admitted this happened to someone else earlier in the week. And the " haircut" I was charged for (which was a quick trim of the ends, no change to the style, no layers, no addition of bangs, nothing) was $47! So I still paid an additional $32 on top of my $55 thru Yelp and have green/brown hair. Not satisfied with any of that. Thanks for the warm tea at least. Read Less
