On top of that, they charge $30 if you are 5 minutes late for your appointment, yet the 5 times I have gone here, I've sat waiting 10-30 minutes minutes past my appointment. They tried to charge me a 30 cancellation fee for my daughters bacially because of a uneventful accident! They wouldn’t see me & I was on time!!! They tried to make me liable for her charges. The quality in fake nails is great. Pricing is high and everything is "an additional cost". But I get it! You pay for quality. I had my nails done and a pedicure. My nails were fantastic but my pedicure fell short, I was not impressed by far with my pedicure. I heard from a friend how wonderful OMG Nails was so I decided to try someplace new and close to work and home. I was not disappointed! I heard they were very busy so I decided to make an appointment, I went on my lunch break expecting to go over my hour and be late returning, I arrived on time to my appointment was seated immediately and given a sheet/menu to select what I wanted and then I was presented with trays of colors to pick from, they worked quick on my nails and I ...thought sure I was going to walk out with messed up nails...this was not the case. I was so mesmerized by the efficiency and flow of their business and the fact that they could so quickly turn out quality work and immediately jump to the next client! The staff was amazing and knew their regulars by name it’s no wonder they have been voted best nail salon several times. Normally I would have nothing bad to say about OMG Nails but today I got some stuff on my mind!! I made an appointment back in January right before a flight home. Unfortunately I did not have the time to make it before my flight so I called and canceled. Whoops on my part because now I have a “fee” for not making it which I was already aware of. I get that! But today I called to make an appointment for me and a bunch of friends coming into anchorage in March. Y’all want $150 JUST to book appointments?!? WTF is that?!? Horrible! Absolutely horrible. I really wanted to love this place! The pricing is a lot better than most places in Anchorage. It comes highly recommended and if you like designs and more creative nails than I say go.However, my experience was underwhelming to say the least.1. EVERYONE but me for the 2 hours I was there was offered a large bottle of water. I asked for one at the end and I got a cup of water 2. I was moved around 2 times in the middle of my treatments so they can accommodate others. I ended up sitting on a pedicure chair for my shellac mani and the dryer kept falling off my lap.3. I got a toe infection after the treatment.4. I got a thumb infection after treatment.5. Shellac lasted 8 days before peeling.6. Although she was super sweet and did a good job my nail tech had no idea about colors and her communication was limited so we had to keep referring back to the veteran employees.7. I love this place. The appointment-only approach coupled with a strict cancelation policy means things run on time. I never have to wait around when I have an appointment and I'm almost always out on time. Their color selection is incredible. The salon is hip, fun, and always feels slightly like you're walking into a really chill house party where everyone is relaxed and laid back and vaguely interconnected. I was not impressed, the customer service was poor and the quality of my work was below par. I had to come back to get one of my nails fixed the following day and two of the girls were talking about me in ear shot and I could hear them laughing. I paid a good amount of money for a deluxe manicure with matte nails and a design with gel polish. Originally they came out beautifully and I was very pleased, and the massage was amazing. But then my thumb nail on my left hand chipped not even 6 hours post manicure. I would have been okay with it except that I have engagement pictures coming up and need my left hand to look perfect. They told me they would fix it for free and I was thrilled! However, after getting that one f...ixed, half of my other nails have already begun chipping. Every other time I’ve had gel polish it’s lasted at least 2 weeks before chipping, so I’m not sure if it’s the polish itself or if it was done too quickly. While I appreciate that they fixed my one nail for free, I do feel frustrated that I’m having such a problem before my engagement photos and will probably have to pay more money to get them removed and redone at my regular nail salon. Had a Saturday appointment with my daughter for the start of a mommy daughter day. So super impressed with this salon!!!! Absolutely great service!!! Loved the appointment only process. It was crazy busy but the flow was fabulous with people barely sitting before up and receiving services. Everyone was super nice!!! Crystal and Courtney (all the employees have names embroidered in their snazzy uniforms) were so nice to talk with. We Left with beautiful French tips on both my daughter and I. I have been going here for over 5 and they are ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! Regardless of which tech you see (Crystal, Troy, Long etc.), they are always super friendly, super fast, and the end result is nothing short of perfection. I used to break my nails all the time with everyday activities and now I rarely break one. Their work is quality! I recently got married and didn't know what type of design to do on my nails for the wedding so I told Crystal to do whatever she thought would be best. I got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on my wedding nails! They were perfectly neutral and elegant so the focus was on my ring and not my nails, but my nails still looked FANTASTIC. In addition to the awesome quality of their work, they go so far above and beyond for their customers. A couple years ago, I was going to need a fill (before going on vacation) during a time they were going to be out of town. Luck would have it that Crystal and Troy were going to be in the same part of Cali as me, so they brought all the supplies needed to do my nails and did them for me in sunny California! My friend and I got our nails done to spend some girl time together and treat ourselves to some nice nails. Her and I have been here once before, seperate times, and both had bad experiences but decided to give it another try because it has such good reviews. If your thinking about doing the same I suggest you don't. My appointment was rushed, they didn't touch my cuticles which look horrible, and the nails just look terrible up close. It was way overpriced, I've had better nails done by other salons for cheaper. And to to it off, it was the owners who did it nails. Honestly I would probably rate this place a negative zero if  i was able to. Crystal was extremely sketchy. I have been there once because at the time I had a friend who worked there so i went for her. Until I recently found out that Crystal (the employee) was taking cash from the customers and pocketing it. I just got this vibe that she was just so money hungry she screwed everyone over. All she cares about is money money money. The only reason she may have been nice to others because she wants to pocket it. I recently had friend of mine who worked there (which is why I even went in to begin with, to see her work.) She was a receptionist over at the salon. This is probably her 2nd job because she just graduated from High School and she is trying to save money up to go to college, She started working and when the time came to get paid the owner choose to not pay her a cent. Crystal then informed her she was JUST "volunteering." Which is by far the most disgracious thing to do. Especially to a girl who is trying to have a job and put herself through college. That is entirely illegal to hire someone and then say one day she won't pay you and she thought she was a volunteer when clearly she filled paper work prior to begin the job. I am repulsed at this lady Crystal's behavior and the way she treated her employees. You don't tell someone to come work for you then insist she was just volunteering. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. Customer service is the worst here, especially if you go to Crystal. She only likes "her clients" and tries to make them feel "special" by calling them "babe" and pretending she likes them. She may have talent when it comes to doing nails however her LACK of customer service, integrity and over all genuineness seeps right through her.Her lack of work ethic is another reason why i will not support this business, Crystal has been known to hire young girls and not pay them for working and then in return claiming it was "VOLUNTEER" work. This way first visit to OMG and probably won't be my last. I was greeted nicely at the door and my appointment started right on time. Crystal had a gentle touch which was really nice, I've been to some places that are really brutal when giving a manicure. Crystal was very nice and VERY fast which is great when you want a basic mani. They have a ton of colors in regular polish as well as gel and can do some really nice freehand designs. Only three stars because of the size of the salon the fumes were so strong they gave me a headache. Also it felt really rushed, when I made the appointment I asked for a deluxe  mani and gel polish. They did not ask me what services I wanted when I checked in so they started and just did a basic mani. I'll see how long my polish lasts and then decide if I will go back. There prices seem a little high for the services & they charge to remove your gel even when you are getting a mani from gel to gel. All in all I had a good experience, not superb but average. I would like to start by saying I am astonished at the customer service provided to my wife today. Never have I seen a business that would ban someone from coming there for crying after she was quoted one price then told another in store. My wife was told that she made the employee uncomfortable because she was crying. It is unacceptable to quote someone one price then change it on her twice to a much larger price let alone make her feel like it is her fault for crying. It is... a good thing I wasn't there to have words with you in person. Luckily there are outlets like this to let all potential customers know how you apparently treat customers. OMG is the kind of place you want to love just like it appears to be loved by the frequent customers. They are wonderful....wonderfuly busy. I like businesses to flourish but when I'm getting a spa treatment such as a manicure & pedicure I like to be away from the hustle and bustle of the business. It's party time and OMG the music is cranked up and it's pop all in your ears.Let's get down to services...overpriced for great service. You get what you pay for and that's a damn good manicure and pedicure. I'll admit I came her to get hologram powder on my shellac but it didn't appear to be solicited so I kept it simple with just shellac. My pedicure was lovely. I secretly hated the color I chose but I kept it myself. I didn't think they had time for me to bother with a different color. My foot massage was terrific! Best one I've had all year. My shellac also lasted a month without peeling up. It actually never peeled off....I broke a nail and had to go somewhere closer to home and less pricier.OMG is somewhere you go when you know your schedule in advanced to book an appointment and unfortunately I don't have the stable lifestyle to accommodate that. The services were great and I hated the $8 charge to "remove shellac". Sorry....i thought it's already been established if you have shellac and you get shellac again you shouldn't get charged to take it off. That $8 extra I could put towards my $20 tip. Read Less

I love this place and their quality is great. My acrylic full set lasted over a month. However the girl rushed through my nails so quickly. I was hoping/needing to relax for a bit with a mani/pedi and was done in 40 min! lol And they're quite expensive compared to everyone locally. They charge for a design on each individual nail, for the shape, etc. their prices were already high and I just felt like every little thing was an extra $5-$10. I enjoyed my pedicure. The nail tech was able to complete the design I requested though the polish used smudged two days later (only on the design portion) the rest of my nails polish has held up beautifully. I wouldn't say this is the most relaxing of salons if you're looking for a day out lounging, but it was a good experience. Read Less

My wife and I were part of a wedding party and a bunch of us went, the guys for a buff and the ladies for the works. The maid of honor booked a party, the point is for us to have exclusive service, at least that's what they told her. They also charged us a party fee but unfortunately they did not close for us. In fact, while working on me, the lady was working on two other people not in our party. It was hectic and we felt rushed. Review is for WAXING only. Background: I have come here several times and their manicures are always great. I used to come for waxing often too and see the same person each time, who was awesome. This visit: I recently made an appointment to have my brows waxed and thought I would have the same person as always. When I got there it was someone new I had not been told about or met before. But whatever I rolled with it. She seemed disengaged from the start and had to twice be reminded of what I was there for (eyebrow and lip wax). When she started on my eyebrows she tried to argue with me about what the natural shape of my brows was (as if they haven't been attached to my face my whole life) and kept insisting that one being a slightly different shape than the other was something I had done (whereas every single other aesthetician has told me everyone has some natural differences) and became very combative on that point. She kept taking about "what I did" or should do differently at great length. She was also extremely slow doing the wax itself. In the end she finally did the brow wax but forgot about the lip piece, and I was so exasperated with the whole experience I didn't bring it up again and just paid and left. Never again. Read Less

Had a terrible experience here. A girlfriend and I, both from outside the Anchorage area, booked an appointment for express gel manicures and pedicures. The salon seemed overwhelmed and poor communication/attitude between staff members was noted immediately, something that should not happen in front of customers. My technician seemed flustered and rushed but was quiet pleasant. He did, however, mess up one of my big toes by not putting it under the UV lamp when he thought he had and smudged the whole nail, causing him to have to redo it and a noticeable line underneath the top two coats of polish. The middle finger of my right hand developed a bubble underneath the polish almost immediately upon leaving the salon causing the polish to peel back on itself and reveal a large hole in the polish 2 days later. My pinkey nail did the same thing within 4 days. My girlfriend received an infection on her big toe from her pedicure several hours later as well as bubbles developing underneath layers of nail polish causing the polish to peel off the nails within less than a week.I called with the news of the infection and the bubbles underneath the nails within 2 days of initial services. The woman working had me send photos of each grievance to her phone and I was assured I would be contacted again. When I had not been contacted again for over a week I called the salon and asked to speak with the manager, explaining my situation all over again, now a week and a half later, to the manager who gave the impression she had no idea a complaint had already been filed. The only compensation I was offered was a 50% discount on a future service or 2 free Basic Manicures, neither of which satisfy me as I explained multiple times that we are not from Anchorage and will not be driving 2 hours for nail services, especially sub-par nail services.To say I will never go back here or recommend it to anyone are vast understatements. I loved OMG Nails!!!! They were so nice and friendly to us and I loved that I could understand everything they were trying to say to me. My little sister came with me, and she is special needs, and the nail artist talked to her and was super interested in what she had to say, she was really gentle with her hands because she is sensitive and all that. She was amazing!!!! I did have one nail pop off a few days after I got them done, but the rest stayed on for almost three weeks and I just got regular acrylic.
