I was very impressed with them. I researched salons and came across their. Itis very warm and cozy atmosphere so cozy that part of me wanted to take a nap haha. They were very professional, very kind and made me feel at ease. When she did my nails it was exactly what other salons had failed to do. This was like the 2nd nail shop I went to since I've been here... and it's as close as I've gotten in the lower 48. After a while, I tried to venture out to other nail shops that had higher ratings and even ones with not so high ratings, and I just ended up right back here. I gave it 5 because like I said, it's the closest that I'll get to the states, the guy is really good (he's the only one who's done my nails), and their customer service is good. He remembers everyone that comes. It really doesn't bother me that they bring their kids, lol what does that have to do with how they do nails?! I bring mine sometimes, so I don't care. Read Less

My natural nails were strong and healthy. I just needed a polish change and shape. Nail files are not new with every client. That should have been my sign to walk away, but i thought it would be no big deal. She was rough on my nails choosing to file off parts of the gel polish instead of soaking/rubbing. I've had my nails done several times and never had it filed off prior to this. She applied no base coat to my gel, just went right to putting the white french in, and 2 cover costs. VERY THIN. Less than 24 hours later and 2 of my nails have broken in spots where she filed off polish. It cost 45 to have my nails destroyed. Read Less

I've gone to Hollywood nails for years and I've never been unhappy. I will say the husband does the best work. He is always very careful when filling my nails so they are never sore. I went in once and he was busy with anther client and I couldn't wait so I went back the next day and remembered me and apologized and gave me a discount. I don't go as often as I used to but he always remembers by name I will never go anywhere else to get my nails done. As for the kiddos there it is a family business so get over it . Its a family business and I've always been treated like family and he doesn't take forever to get my nails done where other places take an hour or longer. They have a great selection of nails the conversation is always wonderful. I called and made an appointment for 4 separate people who wanted all different things, the gentlemen on the phone told me I could come in at 4:00pm... Arriving a few minutes early to these "scheduled appointments" we saw someone walk out of the nail salon to have a cigarette, and upon walking into the location we discovered that the person who walked out of the salon was an employee and the ONLY person who was there and available for the four of us... he said that he has called two other people and no one had answered the phone calls that he made... asking us who wanted to start first while the other three waited for possible people to arrive. Seeing as we were annoyed he suggested a few doors down was another nail salon and said we should try there... we did as he suggested and went somewhere else. He lost business. I stopped into Hollywood in a pinch one evening right as it was closing, and they stayed open to give me a great shellac manicure. They could have easily turned me away or done a rushed job, but instead they went above and beyond. I liked being able to support a local, family business - and the owner's kids who hang out in the shop after school are charming and well-behaved, and despite the somewhat bigoted comments below, they do speak english. I've been going to Hollywood Nails for 3 years. Thao and Jimmy are great. Yes, they often times have the kiddos at the salon, but they are exceptionally well behaved and really pretty cute. Jimmy does my nails and I don't even have to tell him what I want, he just does it perfectly. They last a long time and he's fast. I get my nails done on my hour long lunch break! They remember who you are and will even say hi if they see you in public. I quit getting my nails done for a year and a half because I had a new baby and just didn't have the time. They bring in new fun products (such as multiple colors of glitter nail tips, skincare products, and my fave, Hollywood Eyelashes. Thao has been doing eyelash extensions for over 5 years now, and she isnt skimpy. She makes sure to give you a full set of gorgeous luscious eyelashes, and her price? way less than the $300 some of the other top salons are charging. You get way more than you pay for from her.
