I am very pleased with my first visit to this place. I am a pedicure snob, hands down. The pedicure was honestly the best I've had in years. I get pedicures for the relaxation, and the pretty feet is a bonus for me. I got the royal spa pedicure. The leg and foot massage was long and done well. I usually get sad when that part ends so quickly, but this time I was fully satisfied. Also, my toe nails are perfectly polished. The polish goes all the way up to the cuticle, so it won't look grown out as fast. My heels are also pretty and soft. The only drawback I found was the chair I sat in did not massage well. Went in for a manicure and a man who didn't understand English did it. I told him I wanted rounded nails, he said ok but made them all very pointed, different lengths, just a horrible mess. The polish only stayed on a few days before it started chipping. Also the man who didn't understand English begged me to let him do a pedicure after the manicure was finished. This place is absolutely ridiculous. The good reviews will throw you off. I came in and was informed there were only 2 nail techs who knew how to do a fill-in when I saw 5 women who were doing fill-ins/full sets as people were walking in. Strike 1. They then assigned me an individual who seemed illiterate in how to do nails, he could not shape or file my nails correctly nor did they match. Took him 1.5 hours to fill in & file The quality of work is poor and I would never recommend this place— to anyone! I was so unsatisfied I left before he could even finish. After cutting my toe bad enough to draw blood, the tech continued to mess with it, inflicting more pain- I just hope I don't get infected!!!  Chair was NOT COMFORTABLE AT ALL.  Tech failed to offer water until end of session, nor did she attempt to get me comfortable in the chair.  Uncomfortable the entire time.. worst experience ever at a nail salon!! Having an appointment means almost nothing to this business. My sister and I had appointments-- one mani and one pedi--for 3:30 pm on Sunday. When I arrived, I informed the owner of our appointments. She nodded, but did nothing. I picked out my polish color and waited for my sister to arrive. When she arrived, all techs were busy, no one was sitting at the reception desk, and the owner just kept looking over at us without actually coming to help us. We asked one of the techs for help, she shouted across the room to the owner, and still nothing happened. We waited more. When the owner finally acknowledged us, she told us that, yes, she knew about our appointments, but they had gotten busy since we made our appointments. She informed us there were now 6 people who were to be helped before us. I was stunned and asked her whether she intended to honor our appointment or not. She finally said she would, but she tried to only seat one of us for services. I reminded her there were 2 appointments, so she sat us both. We waited 25 minutes past our appointment time before we were helped. We almost walked out. Read Less

I only went here once, so this is just my personal account, however it was bad enough not to get a second chance. First my pedicure chipped the NEXT DAY. For $45 you would think it works last longer. In addition, the woman who did my acrylics filed them so thin that the gel polish over them was literally thicker. They also broke within the week. Like that wasn't enough, she had a young man paint them for her, and he HIT ON ME. WHILE PAINTING MY NAILS HE HIT ON ME. So inappropriate. So unnecessary. He is the main reason I won't give them another chance. It went from "you're pretty" to "I love your nails" to "do you have kids? A husband? A boyfriend?" I've been going here for years and will keep going back. They are conveniently located in English Village and recently renovated their space. It is open and clean plus they are now double the size so they have plenty of stations for pedicures and manicures. They have two kid pedicure chairs too. You can call to make an appointment but I typically just walk in with little wait. The pedicure chairs are massage chairs so that's a nice bonus. They offer water and wine for an added touch. This place is super convenient and clean and very friendly. However, twice now I've come in and had my feet sitting in the water for a half hour before someone came to do my pedicure. I made and appointment this last time for 3 of us right when they opened and only two manicurists where there. So i had to wait yet again. Then the girl was on her phone video chatting with her super adorable kid. I love that you're on with your kid, but at the same time, I just waited a half hour and I made an appointment. Now you're doing my pedicure and then stopping to chat ... more pedicure ... then stopping to chat. We were there for over an hour and a half just getting a mani-pedi. The nail tech was very nice. I enjoyed talking to her but my manicure and pedicure wasn't that great. The appearance of the salon is very nice and they use great products but I wasn't pleased with the finished product. It's too expensive not to be perfect! The last 2 times that I've gone to Nail Tek I have called and asked if there was await. Both times they said Come on and I've had to wait 15 minutes ...they do serve wine though which helps but it is irritating that they do this ...,the girl that answered just said it got busy right after I called. ... I have to add to this review. I went 2 weeks ago for a pedicure and decided to also get nail tips. Bad decision!  The pedicure chipped the next  day and the nail tips began to show ridges and were coming up. I called in and told the owner who said come back. I was out of town so I took pictures to show them. When I came in he looked at them and didn't say anything. I asked "is this a good job in your opinion?"  Silence. I requested them removed which lead to them trying to convince me that the the nails would take long to remove. At this point I was amazed that I was still calm. The owner removed them and did a basic manicure and then did my pedicure. He knows how to do nails and should work with his staff. I will return for a pedicure only and with Mya only. Avoid Amy. Mya's pedicure polish lasted until I returned and met up with Amy. To the salons credit there was no charge and no chatter in Asian while I was in there. Read Less

I went to Nail Tek for a manicure with gel polish and a pedicure.  The staff seemed annoyed that I already had gel polish on my nails, and the lady even rolled her eyes saying how it takes forever to soak it off!! Rude!  There were only two other customers, but they refused to do my manicure and pedicure at the same time... even though the staff members without customers were playing on their ipads/computers!  It took 2.5 hours for my services. We booked a bridal party on Friday for the bridesmaids to get ready for the wedding.  We were pleased there were just enough chairs for the 8 of us!  However, when people started coming in for appointments, the nail tech's started really speeding through everything.  They took care of all of us, but I didn't find it to be very relaxing.  Just reminds me why I don't get my nails done frequently....
