Beyond Nails is such a great nail salon to go to for several reasons. First, the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. I typically go during the day when it is not crowded. I usually do not have to wait very long. I went on a Friday afternoon when a wedding party was present. I had to wait for an hour. The wait was not an issue at all, because I was able to read or surf the web. Even with the wedding party, it was still a relaxing and calm environment. Secondly, the salon is very clean and spacious. Thirdly, the customer service is great. Kim and the other staff members are very friendly and chatty. Finally, they do such a great job on my nails. I am always presently surprised. I have had my nails done by Li, Kim, and Mia. Decent service but would not let me use the last $20 of a gift certificate because it expired 14 days ago. They stamped over the date so that it is difficult to read. Five of us made an appointment for meni/pedi, we were running late 8 minutes, and informed the salon of this. Upon arrival we were greeted but were not informed of the wait time. Half an hour later, the salon employees were all still working with customers and we were not given updates. We informed the lady that greeted us but she did not appear apologetic. After waiting for about 30-45 min I was told to sit in the chair for a pedicure . The guy didn’t run any water or anything. He then begins to work on two people that came in AFTER me. So I asked can I at least soak? And he says “in a min” and continues to work on the person that came in AFTER me. I walked out and went right around the corner to another salon where I was immediately told to sit in a pedicure chair WITH WATER! I will never try this salon again. And please don’t comment saying that they had an appointment. One lady admitted she was extremely LATE for her appointment therefore her appointment should have been void and the other lady said she couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone in order for her to make an appointment so she decided to “pop in.” She “popped in” after me and was serviced BEFORE me just because she was a regular I guess. RESPONSE TO OWNER - First of all I don't care about people in the shop shaking their heads. Those people shaking their heads probably didn't know that you just skipped over me!! I was there waaaaay before the clients that you started working on. You said you were letting them soak and was getting them ready for your staff huh? Well why didn't you start my water to get me "ready for your staff " BEFORE the people that came in AFTER me (Answer because you intentionally skipped over me because they were regulars) They probably didn't know that when you told me to sit down in the chair you didn't bother to give me a menu or anything! They probably didn't know that you clearly treat your regular customers waaaaay better than new customers. Your conversation was so dry with me but as soon as one of your regulars entered they got waaaaay better treatment (FYI you need to watch how you do that because you never know..a NEW customer could be trying to become a REGULAR. ) I didn't misunderstand a thing. I was in that chair for more than 5 min so stop with the BS. Once again no thanks to the offer for being a client. I will spend my money at a shop where I am treated fairly. Have a nice day!!! I'm not sure why anyone would rate this place lower than 5 stars. I went yesterday with my mom and my brother's girlfriend and we all had an incredible experience! The place was incredibly clean, the wait was short, and the staff was so accommodating and professional. They offer free mini water bottles at each station and have a wide selection of regular, gel, and s&s polish. The massage chairs had me in heaven the entire time. I did s&s on my fingers and gel on my toes and they look FABULOUS! I'm so satisfied. Their services and prices were easily found online and I appreciated that so much! (Obviously another reviewer doesn't understand the clearly stated prices but that's none of my business if someone can't read...) The owners were so sweet, checking in on us and showing how much they really cared about their customers. And each nail technician was just as caring and careful taking care of us. There are so many great things to say about this salon. First of I sent them a message and they responded immediately. Next they took appointments and on a Sunday. They did a fantastic job. The staff is very friendly. They took all types of precautions dealing with the individual sealed tools, the disposable bags in each pedicure basin. I don't know how to feel about this salon just yet. I sort of like their service but their pricing doesn't make sense to me. The first time I came in I had acrylic nails that I had done elsewhere taken off and got SNS powder on my natural nails. I paid $40, ok makes sense since they did have to remove the acrylic so previously had done. Today I came in for another SNS powder "manicure" I don't even know if I would call it a manicure since there is no soaking or really care for your cuticles. I was charged $40 again today. So I asked "wow, why is it $40 again if I didn't have anything other than the manicure done?" The lady in the front said it's because they charge $10 to remove any previous powder done. I'm baffled by this, you would think this is part of the service as they do this for gel manicures. I was expecting to pay the $30 as it was something posted by the manager on this Yelp page! The lady in the front told me "oh if you want just remove the powder at home, it's easy and we won't charge." WTF why in the world would I remove it myself, isn't that why I come to a nail salon, for someone to do it for me, you would assume this is part of the service. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Very nice people and I have been there 4 times.  This last time was my last.  I felt as though I was in the "express service" chair.  The massage was nothing more than a quick, no-sensational rub (more of just a touch - not even a rub.  He didn't clean under my nails).  The bottom of my feet were still scratchy even after having to ask twice for him to get them smooth (he didn't smooth with a pumice stone or sponge after the cheese grater-like tool).  I ended up going to a 2nd salon (Nail Boutique & Spa) and getting the best pedicure EVER immediately afterwards.  When I was paying, the owner asked if everything was satisfactory.  I said, "Frankly, it was the worst pedicure I have ever had."  Her response was (quote), "You want card?".  Sorry.  they are very nice people, but I highly recommend Nail Boutique & Spa for the best pedicure! Yesterday was my first time at beyond nail salon and I will definitely be back. We had a large group for a bridal party and all of the girls wanted different things done to their nails. The shop was very accommodating and got all of us started right away. Everyone’s nails looked wonderful and they took time recreating a picture that I brought in for my wedding nails. This was hands down the best manicure I have ever had. My nails look wonderful and my pedicure was very relaxing. I've been coming here over a year and I won't go anywhere else. They are amazing at what they do and they care about giving quality service and not trying to upsell you for something you don't need or want. Yes, you may have to be patient and wait your turn but they take appointments so you can always make one if you're in a hurry! (There's a reason we all line up before they open!) Any way, my husband and I went together. He wanted a manicure and 2 acrylic nails put on. He's a guitar player and has heard of many great players doing this so it's something he wanted to try out. I think there was some confusion at first because I had scheduled for 2 manicures but when we got there they were setting up the pedicure stations. Like I said I've gotten my nails done maybe 5 times in my life and most or those times were when I was very young, in ohio, with my mom, at a place where cosmology students did it. So I thought maybe a foot soak was part of the pampering. Im happy we ended up doing the pedicures though! My feet look great and my husband was a riot. He was laughing so hard while they messed with his feet that he had everyone else laughing too. They did a great job on hands and feet and the staff was very kind. We were in and out pretty quickly too which was great because I had to get to work. (Took almost an hour to have mani-pedi) cost for both services was $40/person plus a little extra for his acrylic nails, plus we tipped each girl $10. If I had known I was doing a pedicure I would have picked a different nail color. The one I picked for my hands was very boring because we aren't supposed to wear fun nail colors at work but I love having bright colors on my toes. It makes them look so cute! My wife came in to get an "emergency" broken nail fixed. She was going to do the chrome style - which they assured her over the phone they could do.  After they stripped her existing nail job off, they told her the machine to do chrome nails was broken - clearly a bait and switch just to get her money.  Then after she settles on a glitter look, she asked for them to put another layer of acrylic on to strengthen them up some so she wouldn't have another mishap.  Instead of doing what she asked, the service tech just said "no, you don't need that"... guess it's not up to the customer what they get? The only reason I didn't give a one star is because the woman there did a good job painting my nails and the guy I think was the owner was very nice. However, the guy that did my pedicure didn't even get the dead skin off my feet and didn't even put lotion on my heels so my feet still look like they did when I walked in. He started painting my toenails and quit thankfully as he was painting them unevenly so he let the lady finish it. I am not happy that he basically washed my feet and that's about it. He didn't trim around the nails or push the cuticles back. He literally washed my feet off and trimmed the nails. I didnt even get the full "basic pedicure". This place is really modern, they have free water and a friendly check in person. I've had a hard time finding a nail tech since moving to Huntsville. I tried this place out a total of 3 times. The first time was good, but the second and third time my nail polish started chipping after 2 days. The nails were thin also. I won't let them fool me a 4th time. I have went to so many nail salons over the last six months and I wasn't happy with the services. In fact, I was so disappointed that I would drive to Hoover just to get my nails done. Recently I saw BNS ads and I read all the feedback and everything was positive. I decided to give them a try yesterday and I must say that I found me a new nail technician. Mrs. Kim is phenomenal. This was my first time to visit and I loved it! It was such a peaceful experience, something about the place from the moment I stepped in just set me at ease. The decor is very pretty, but it was more than just the surroundings, it was a feeling of calm and relaxation. For the life of me I don't understand the great reviews about this place. My coworker recommended them to me because they all speak English. That is false! And she said they do a wonderful job on nails and that too is false. They had a guy who painted my nails like a 4 year old and the pedi was so-so. I would not recommend them to anyone. I went today to get a new set of acrylic gel nails. Not long into my session, I started feeling nauseous and light headed. Once my vision and hearing started going out along with the dreaded cold sweats (I'm hypoglycemic), I had to ask the lady if we could stop. Without hesitation, she asked if I was ok, and after telling her what was going on, she had the others rush to grab me juice, water, and some candy to help get my sugar up. My sugar doesn't drop very often, but for some reason, it dropped today and it dropped bad. I cannot thank the staff enough for helping me and providing excellent service after I started feeling better. You have earned a lifelong customer for as long as I'm on the Huntsville/Madison area!!! How many times have you ever been to a nail salon and immediately feel relaxed? Or so entirely impressed by the cleanliness of the entire salon? This place has exceeded all of my expectations. I can not wait to return. The business is newer (around 6 months old I believe). When you walk in, you are greeted by one of the owners (both work here, Kim and Joe), and they both are so friendly. There were four technicians today and all were extremely friendly and made conversation with me. They immediately have you sit at either a manicure station or a pedicure station. The pedicure stations are amazing (massage chairs, super comfortable and large that adjust to your liking). Honestly, I don't think my doctors office is as sterilized as this business. The "baskets" (foot wash tubs) are lined with new disposable linings before and after each customer to ensure top quality. All of the equipment is also very sterilized, and I actually saw them put the tools in the sterilization machine. If you are wanting a very clean and safe nail spa, this should be your home. I received a pedicure today with French tip. Now I "used" to have some rough feet, but Kim worked magic! My toes have never been this precise and my feet are so smooth. She definitely relaxed me completely with the massage chair and her massaging my calves and feet. With the relaxing music in the background, it took all I could to not fall asleep! I don't normally brag about new businesses, nor go on and on about the service unless it is needed. But this little Gem deserves some recognition for the services they provide.
