Went here to get SNS for the first time and I wish I hadn't. I am so disappointed in the result. Each nail is shaped differently, the texture is rigid and bumpy and not smooth. This looks amateur and like I did it at home. I paid nearly $50 for the worst looking expensive manicure. I'm sick I wasted all this money, and not to mention, the color looked completely different on the sample. Wrong color, poor execution, etc. How do I get this stuff off my nails? Read Less

Perfect for a treat yourself day. Very relaxing environment with water features and music. I had SNS done and it looks great, they even did a hand, arm and shoulder massage. It is pricey but very worth it for the occasional treat. Read Less

I went there today because I saw it had 4 stars. I even gave a small tip.. My daughter got a manicure, I got a pedicure, and my youngest daughter just got her toes painted... 3 hours later the polish starts messing up on ALL of our nails! I am so angry! What a waste of time and money! I could have done this myself and it would have last longer. Read Less

I really wanted to like this place but every time I go here feel like I'm bothering them. When your spending your money somewhere you at least want to feel welcome especially if your paying $75 dollars for a pedicure. I think there are better places  that value their clients more Read Less

I went here for the first time recently. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the salon and the amount of time spent helping me select which services would best meet my needs. I never felt rushed at any point. Joe did my pedicure and took great care to provide attentive service. An did SNS nails on me. She was meticulous and patient with me. Upon moving to Birmingham, I had difficulty finding a nail salon with a tech who understood  my preferences. I stopped here, needing a pedicure, yet expecting disappointment. I’ve been here a few times, and usually I get great service even when the place is super busy. They’re very reasonably priced, and they’re always my go-to nail salon in Birmingham. I asked for a glass of wine, and the lady brought the wine in a dirty glass. I could see the lip gloss stains from the previous person that drank from the glass. I asked her to clean it so she “cleaned” it. When she brought the wine back, the stains were just smeared even more. I was disgusted. My pedicure was sub par. She missed painting the sides of my big toe. She refused to scrub my left foot after only scrubbing it for one minute. Very poor place, do not go here. Read Less

Stay away from this place! I went in for a manicure/pedi with my two young daughters and paid $200+! The technician cut off ALL of my cuticles on my fingers and painted over them, so it looked sloppy. That wasn't the worst part though - I ended up getting a bacterial infection on my thumb and had to go two doctors and two rounds of antibiotics. Part of the nail has fallen off and the old nail has a wave in it, which has been very painful. I continue to battle with this 5 months later. The owner at my trusted salon at home said that they probably didn't sterilize their instruments and that the technician should have NEVER cut off my cuticles. This might be my new favorite nail place! Too bad it's so far from my house : (  I had an excellent pedicure on my visit here. I was super happy and many weeks later my toes still look great. I'm overdue for a pedicure and this toe job has held up. Lol!I had the candle pedicure which was very nice and relaxing. I got a great leg massage, hot towels, the works. This place is really big and I didn't have to wait at all. It's really nice on the inside and they have a whole row of little girl chairs that are adorable. My manicurist did an excellent job. The only negative was that she really didn't speak English and I just couldn't understand what she was asking me but somehow we managed to communicate. I am really looking forward to my next visit! Terrible. Receptionist was very rude. I was seated for 10 minutes and still no one had checked on me even though people who were seated after me got quick service. The receptionist brought the surrounding seats water and lined the foot-baths to turn them on a few times and just ignored me. I got up to leave and she sarcastically told me to have a great day. Not worth it!!!!! Not trying to be mean, Good people I guess, but Don't be fooled by the cool ambiance. They spend 10 minutes on my friend before they even came around to me. Then we bought the same package I was done before her!!!! :-I  seriously. And I paid 50$ for nothing. The "massage" was so light and half ass I didn't even know if I was getting myself pampered. I was soooo frustrated the whole time. He didn't get the edges. It was horrible. Then I had to come back in. And if felt like they didn't wanna fix it. It was annoying. I lost time. I wasn't relaxed. Cleanest place I've ever been to. The staff was friendly and professional. LONGEST PEDICURE EVER. This is a good thing, the actually spent time rubbing my legs and feet, calus removal, painting etc. I did the $35 pedicure. They also did great with the kids! Have awesome little kid spa chairs. This place while nice to visit gave my wife a terrible cuticle infection two months ago. Please check on the disinfecting process before using their services. Not sure if it's fungal or viral-but it has been impossible to get rid of with multiple medications.Read Less

This rating is strictly for the manicurist, Don Nuygen. I should have stuck with my regular nail tech at S Nail and Spa but was in a hurry and could not wait for her to finish with her client. I sat down and Don briefly filed away the gel polish on my nails, he stopped and pulled out the electronic nail file that is supposed to be used on artificial nails. As he began to scrape away the gel polish off of my NATURAL LONG nails, I asked if the file was safe for natural nails. He said yes... after the polish was scraped and soaked off he harshly began filing my long nails down to nubs. It was the most extreme and painful filing I had ever experienced. He did not ask me how long I wanted to keep my nails just filed them completely off. Partially my fault because I did not say anything, honestly was just too frustrated to talk. He then began to paint my nails. Did not use the same two different gel base coats like my normal tech, Ha does. After each coat he would use the tip of his LONG, DIRTY and SHARP thumb nail to "clean up" the spots he messed up, EXTREMELY painful. He often asked if I was okay after I jerked my hand back multiple times. I think he could tell I was getting frustrated because he would ask if "it hurts" throughout the process. I said yes and he said "aww". He then went as far as reaching across the table to move my forearm 10 degrees to the right. Not sure how that can affect the positioning of my fingers when they are pretty mobile themselves. Two of my nails have odd bumps in the polish and the rest are short and stubby, not how I like them. I am extremely disappointed in Don but I am such a loyal customer I will continue to go just will never have him touch me again. Read Less

The atmosphere is bright and clean, quiet and relaxing. My technician, Holly, was efficient, firm and kind if there was any tension in my legs before she made short work of it. I received a manicure and the candle pedicure. The pedicure was very moisturizing and relaxing but be careful that candle oil is HOT. Read Less

I've been several times and am always happy with the service and quality. Lots of options and choices and everything is clean and the staff is very friendly. I've lived in the area for over 10 years and have hopped around to different places and while some are good at one or another aspect this place is consistantly above average in all areas. I never have any issues with quality and or hygene. They are a few dollars more than some other places, but I'll protect my health over a few bucks anyday. Read Less

Love this place! Their gel manicures are great and their staff is so nice and personable. The last gel manicure I got there lasted over 3 weeks and never chipped. I only got it redone because my nails had grown out so far and it was starting to look a little strange. I've had some great conversations with the nail artists there, it makes my day to go there! Nathan and Duyen are great! Their busiest times are Saturday and Sunday after noon but I've never had to wait long. Very friendly staff. I received an SNS application ($40) and a spa pedicure ($35). The guy, Joe, who did My nails was obviously new because one of the main nail techs, Thi, constantly had to go behind him and fix my nails. I understand that everyone has to start somewhere but it was a bit frustrating to keep having the same thing applied and reapplied. Now THIS is what a Nail spa should be.... Whew, take me back. If I could, I would come here every week.... Just for the pedicure. I literally wanted to pack up my nail tech & take him home!  Made an appointment for Sunday. Came earlier than my scheduled time & was seated right away. I Love how you're greeted by an actual receptionist & not someone yelling across the room demanding you to "sign in". This was pleasant.  My nail tech did an amazing job on my nails & the selection of colors?? Ridiculous..... But the main point of this review is the pedicure. The candle oil pedi is legit. Quality products. You can tell they have a protocol to ensure you get the package you're paying for... If it's mentioned on the description. You're getting it!  They take their time. No rushing. What I love about this particular pedicure is towards the end they really massage your feet/leg with real hot candle oil.  *faints* I was in heaven.  The warm sensation of the oil took it to another level than your average pedi. They have the pedicure stations towards the back with a wall that separates you from the the rest of the salon. This allows for a more spa like feel versus a nail  shop. Another plus. Now,  this place can be quite pricey but it's definitely worth. At least for me it is.... I can assure you I'll be back. Sooner than later! Read Less

AWESOME. Moved to Alabama awhile back and have been searching for a clean, great service salon, this is it!! My favorite, will go no where else.
