I fee like I've tried every nail place in Vestavia, Homewood, and Mountain Brook- and nobody compares to Nail World II. The staff is SO friendly from the moment you walk in the door. I go there every 2.5 weeks for a gel manicure and I'm always pleased with how long the polish lasts. Read Less

I have had worst nail experiences but certainly this is not the best or even close. The gentleman that did my pedicure and gel manicure rushed through the pedicure, didn't even massage my feet. He put a glob of lotion on them and moved on to painting them. He also didn't do a proper manicure, he didn't even shape my nails just cut them and didn't cut my cuticles. For the price of almost $70 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure plus tip, I will not be going back here. So disappointed because the reviews were so good. Read Less

I've been here a couple different times now and the service is always excellent. I've always been a walk in with no appointment and they've always got me in quickly and my nails always look awesome. Decided last minute to get my nails done before my vacation. Showed the staff the design I wanted, (with gel) and they made it happen! Travel for work all the time, and I've had great service in most major cities. Came to Birmingham for a wedding and needed a mani/pedi before the ceremony. Called and made an appointment, as I knew it would be a busy Saturday. Best service I've ever received. They have two full levels of pedicure chairs and manicure stations. It was incredibly busy but they did a great job of making me feel personally attended to. I don't really write reviews all that often, but felt compelled to after my experience here. I have heard nothing but good things about this place . So I decided to take my friends along with me to try it out . Well I will never go back again .. I went to the guy working there & he was rude and kept pulling on my hand when he was done filing he would push my hand away. I thought okay maybe he's just quick or whatever . Then he kept pushing gel polish on me . Telling me to hurry and pick a color after I already had a color picked out , but he just kept on . Again I le...t that go . This place is very hit or miss. I've gotten my last two fill-ins done here and both have been really bad. It really depends on which nail tech you get. The pedicures are nice here but I wouldn't recommend getting your acrylics filled in. Both nail techs could not shape my nails to save their lives. A natural looking square-oval nail should not be hard to achieve. My nails are shaped so unevenly it's embarrassing.The polish job I got this morning was horrible. I have been to just about every nail salon in Birmingham; both high end and average and so far to me this one takes the cake. I don't always have time or need the full pedicure experience nor do I always want to pay $30+ for it and Nail World will do a "color change" pedicure for $12! It's an amazing deal because they still clean up your nails by clipping and shaping them and you're out the door in about fifteen minutes.  I have also had gel manicures and full pedicures here and they are great too! They always have a large staff on hand so you don't have to wait like a lot of places in town. It might not look as fancy on the outside compared to others, but don't judge a book by its' cover! I came here because they are open on Sundays. I get Deluxe Pedi and Mani which means I have to go upstairs to be serviced. I wasn't offered anything to drink as I usually am, until another customer was being serviced was asked, then I was. At that point I couldn't I was in the middle of my Mani. My Pedi was nice but my Mani seemed rushed! I'm usually not one to complain, but my servicer (male, was rude and I was treated indifferent. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING to me. Worst manicure/pedicure I have ever had. Didn't even get all the gel polish off before painting over with regular nail polish. Looked like my 80 year old grandmother painted my nails. The pedicure/manicure was painful and she was in a huge hurry. Cut my live cuticle several times. I used to come here when I lived in bham and it has fallen big time. By far my favorite place to get a mani/pedi! 🎯And I have had them ALL over the world. Every single one of the staff members do a great job. Very clean facility! The receptionist/manager/owner chick (not sure her title but y'all know who I am talking about if u have ever been in there) is so friendly and so "on it"! She keeps everyone in check. I had an ingrown and instead of the nail tech making it worse or to where it would come back the tech knew her boundaries and asked the sweet manager chick to come over and spent her own time to fix it and educate me on how to prevent it from happening again! Hands down my favorite place to get my nails done. The lady (I always forget her name -darn it) is so friendly and upbeat every single time I'm there. Even their phone etiquette is outstanding. She acknowledges me by my name which is quite rare these days. That have a huge polish selection so I never have an issue finding one to match my mood that day. I don't have a go to person there but everyone seems to know what they're doing and I've never had an issue. You do pay a little more but I'm willing to do that and enjoy my visit each time. The only downside is that you can't add tip to a card transaction so if you don't normally carry cash then you feel a little guilty when leaving. Other than that I love love love this place! I needed a manicure on a Sunday late afternoon after flying in for a work conference. This was one of the few places open and it was perfect. The decor needed a little updating and it looked like they were trying because the ceiling had some construction work being done to it. The person who did my nails ran the place and he took me in fast even without an appointment. He was very respective to anything I asked and I tend to be particular about my nails. I only went to this shop because my regular nail shop was closed. There were good reviews on this shop so I decided to try it out.Honestly the worst nail shop I've ever been to. Overpriced for crap quality. I was so unhappy about my nails and they charged me $40 for a fill. My nails are streaky and uneven, the shape each nail are different. The nail technician was rough and in a hurry. I even asked her why I was charged so much for a fill and she completely ignored me. I too...k my friend here with me as well and she was extremely unhappy about her nails as well. They were thick and chunky, as well as she asked for gel nails not the Polish but the actual gel instead they gave her solar. They charged her $50 for hers, I could understand if you provide amazing nails at the end for the price that I'm paying but the quality was horrible. Literally, the worst place I've been to. I had a man aggressively do my nails, he was so rude, messed them up, left them lopsided and badly painted, not only that but he also cut me deeply and I'm now dealing with an infected pinky. As if that wasn't enough, when I asked to have them fixed he yelled at me to go to him even after I said not him, so Tawny took over. She was awful. I hate being disappointed by nail salons. When you spend $37+tip on something that will only last a couple of weeks, you want to leave happy. Or at least I do.I arrived at 12:35pm and left at 2pm. Almost 1.5hrs for just a gel manicure. After waiting up front for a few minutes, the receptionist seated me and then put cuticle softener on my hands, which she then placed into plastic sandwich baggies, which she then placed into heated mits. I waited awkwardly like this for about 20min. I couldn't use my phone or drink water or anything. My fingers got uncomfortable and prune-y, so I had to pull them out. It was weird. And then my nail technician couldn't do "squoval" shaped nails. At first, he made them square, and then I said I wanted the edges just a little rounder, so then he gave me mostly round nails. Then he cut out a little piece of my finger when he was cutting my cuticle. It hurt and bled, and he got nail polish remover on it and kept poking at it. He didn't apologize. I wasn't particularly relaxed after this, so I probably wouldn't have enjoyed the hand massage had I been offered one. Instead of a typical massage, the technician rubbed a dot of lotion onto the top of each of my forearms for about 5 seconds and called it a day.At least they have tons of polish options. Read Less

Been going to this place for several years for a pedicure. If u are a guy and think that's a woman thing ur crazy and don't know what your missing. Get over yourself and treat yourself. Besides getting you toe nails cleaned up...which we all need ... There is the foot massage. Oh wow!!!  His is everything. Nail World is always busy but they treat you well and the place is clean and actually very spa like. Call and make a reservation so you don't have to waste time sitting and waiting. I started coming here in late November 2015. I had a good experience the first time and the 3rd time. I was asked who did my nails as they looked bad and told the mgr and he said he'll get me a better person next time. I showed up and he gave me the same bad person. I thought he would remember me as we had a great chat when I came in for a fix. But I am one of those optimistics so I came back again. The guy the mgr gave me to again (3rd time) cut me up so badly I think he needs glasses. My nails didnt last two weeks and I was charged by them for taking off the bad nails and redoing them. Sigh. I had a better person this time. But I hate being just a number.  I don't care for the staff  speaking Vietnamese to each other and not engagimg in their clients. I also got my eyebrows waxed and the lady was so fast she left wax on me and lashes on my brow. I was bleeding and she said I had a crease in my forehead... don't get that. I love it.  I have had nail service performed all over the world.  They are prompt , courteous, and customer satisfaction is a priority. I love how convenient it is.  If you live in Mountain Brook ,  Homewood or even further away.  There location is close to 280 and Montgomery Hwy. Literally right there! They have several service providers.  The menu if services they offer is vast.  I love the waterfall and the music. One of the best pedicures I've had in Birmingham. They take their time, but it's also quick. I popped in for a pedicure but I only had about an hour. I was in and out within that time, yet I didn't feel like I got short-changed. Lots of pedicure chairs and manicure stations. It seems there is a nail salon on every corner but Nail World II is by far my favorite. They have recently expanded so you never have to wait for any service (except maybe a busy saturday). They are even open on Sunday starting at 1, which is hard to find. Staff is friendly and fast and they do a great job. Polish selection is above average. I have never been disappointed with my experience here!  The only reason I would not give them 5 stars is that you cannot add a tip to your credit card - so be prepared with a little cash if you are paying with plastic!
