Not a great experience. I have given this salon so many tries. The last time I went they cut my cuticles back so far I was bleeding on several fingers. I did not go again for a year, but went back today with my niece since they are one of the few open on sundays. They are all incredibly rude. The man, who I presume was the owner, was extremely firm and rude to me when telling me they will not do ombré on my nails because “there is not a high enough demand for it”. I have no idea why that makes a difference. The pedicure lady was also very rude. Never said hello or even smiled at me. Barely massaged me or scrubbed my feet, for my $46 pedicure. Also made my big toe bleed really badly. She had to put the bleed stop medicine on it. My nieces skin and cuticles were nicked up several time during her manicure and lots of tough, dead skin left on both of our feet. $152 later... I won’t be back. Read Less

I came in on a Saturday for a gel mani and they were busy, so I waited about 20 minutes (no problem-it's a busy Saturday). I sit down and pick out a gel color. The girl cannot find it. The manager of the salon can't find it and they ask me to select again. The next color is also missing. If you're looking for a bright spring pink it's very hard in there. Finally just said my usual "funny bunny" because the tech was very annoyed and huffing to pick something. I get it, they were busy, but they were out of both colors I wanted. My issue is I paid $46 with tip for a gel manicure and it's been less than 5 days and it's chipped and peeling as well as my cuticles look like they were never even cut  so frustrating. Love this place! It would get 5 stars if it was just a bit less expensive. Out can get just a good of work for $10-20 less and sometimes even better. I do love the manager, Danny, he's the cutest. They do a great eye brow wax, gel and tips and pedicure usually last 2 weeks. Massage hairs are fantastic and they have WINE! Yes ma'am. A reason for a slight price hike than the other guys. Update: I called the next morning and the staff was so quick to accommodate me. I went back and was greeted with a smile and apologies. They did a fabulous job second time around. The atmosphere was wonderful. The nail techs and front desk were very friendly. I am from out of town and went with a large group. Everyone’s nails, including my 3 little girls nails looked great. They had female nail techs. I had a guy who was super nice but did an awful job on my nails! He did 5 coats on 2 nails that the fan messed up. He didn’t take the brush to the cuticle or the sides of all my nails on the second and third coats. The worst job I’ve ever had done on my nails. Read Less

I will not be returning. The atmosphere is nice, but my 11 year old niece could have done my nails better. I asked for sculptured nails, because I Don't like tips, all he did was slap some acrylic on my nails. Did not form or build a nail as I asked. You only get one time to mess my nails up. Read Less

The lady doing my nails was passive aggressive and forcefully pushed my hands around instead of asking me to move them and also made my cuticles bleed. It was also 7:05 (they close at 7:30) and they began to vacuum and mop around us. The man behind us also changed my friends color without asking her. Nail color selection is limited. This place has gone way way down hill.  First of all they barely have any air turned on so it feels extremely hot and humid in there.  They 18 pedicure chairs and 4 people there to do them.  The prices are high, there are no specials and half the people working there do not seemed trained.I really used to love this place but they have sacrificed quality for quantity... I can't speak high enough of this salon, they are a well oiled machine. Not only are the efficient, but they are also just lovely to do business with. I love the welcoming feeling when you walk into this place but the lady who did my nails was very rude to me. I spoke and tried to have a friendly conversation she act as if I wasn't talking to her. On top of that two of my nails needed repairing and she didn't fix it. When I went to go wash my hands the manager and the tech was sitting at my little station and she asked me to pay her before she even finish my nails. This is my go-to nail salon. The salon is clean and the owners are always helpful and receptive if there is an issue. The inside has been recently renovated and is so nice! I love the long massages that come with a pedicure, which I feel sets Canterbury Nails apart from other salons.Read Less

This place is super nice. The chairs are really comfy and the atmosphere is really relaxing. I'm giving it three stars for two reasons, the price and the service. The nail technicians don't really talk to you and they sort of ignore you. Bump your nail and screw up the polish and they will be noticeably annoyed with you. They do a decent job, but I got a regular basic pedicure and a gel manicure and it ended up being almost $60. I'm sorry, but I can get a gel manicure and a less than amazing pedicure somewhere else for $45. Not worth it. Read Less

Went here tonight with my boyfriend and had the WORST experience. The woman did a good job on his feet but I was left with a middle-aged man who did an absolutely TERRIBLE job. He was rough and I had to tell him several times that he was hurting me, but he did nothing about it. I felt like we were being rushed out the door despite coming in a solid hour before closing. After my manicure I told one of the managers (the buffer guy with short hair) that I had a horrible experience. He was nice, but told me "Yeah, we've gotten several complaints about him already. I'll say something to him." Wasn't offered anything in return to make up for the waste of money I spent on something that ended up stressing me out instead of relaxing me. Left no tip and will NEVER come back here. I advice you do the same. Read Less

This place has become my regular nail shop. Everyone is very friendly and there is never a big wait time.They offer water and wine while you are there... I genuinely love getting my nails done and go as often as I see fit. My most recent experience at Canterbury was fairly good. I really love how sweet and amicable the nail techs here are. They are fairly busy any time they are open, so I would definitely confirm your appointment before arriving. The deluxe manicure includes a great hand and forearm massage which is  the main reason I choose them over a regular manicure.Aside from the positives, I would say their selection of nail colors are quite disappointing as I have seen at other salons and stores. I feel like this is a way to encourage customers to upgrade to gel manicures. My friend and I were pressured by another tech to upgrade to gel polishes and were told the polishes we were getting would only last 4 days. It lasted almost a week, just fyi :).  After carefully selecting a fuschia shade I wasn't particularly fond of, the tech also trimmed my nails without asking. I prefer longer nails, and any girl can tell you how much work it takes to maintain and grow out your nails! While drying under the lamp, one of my nails had smudged, and the tech was already holding all of her bags and ready to walk out the door. I showed her the smudge, but she just said, "It's okay, just let it dry."  I wouldn't ask her to stay and fix it if she were in a rush, but would have appreciated it if she had either asked someone else to fix it or just give me some polish remover and the polishes so I could fix it myself. I'm sure I'm not the first person ever to smudge their polish, but that definitely could have been handled better if they want customers to return without hesitation. Read Less

My red acrylics turned out beautifully (still just as strong after 1.5 weeks), but beware: overpriced ($50 for acrylics w/gel) & my stylist was way too hard on my cuticles. He took an extra 10-15 min on them, which left me in pain the next day. I got mani-pedis here with my boyfriend recently and have very mixed thoughts about this salon. The service was great and the techs were friendly, the establishment is clean and very nice and pleasant. However, the actual results I received were absolutely disappointing. The pedicure was fantastic, but my french manicure and pedicure polish service was horrible. It was not carefully done, the lines are uneven, and there are bubbles underneath the top coat as well as a hair underneath the polish on my pinky?. As great as part of my experience was, I'm not sure if I'd go back and drop $110 for a mediocre job. Read Less

Very disappointed. I went to this salon solely based on the positive reviews - I had a polar opposite experience. When I arrived the place was only about half full but they placed me at a chair right next to another customer so that my nail tech could talk to her friend the entire time I was getting my gel manicure. Willing to overlook that, however, the quality of service was directly impacted. Not only did I have to ask repeatedly for parts of a manicure that should come standard (file my nails please, this coat looks streaky can we do a third coat, etc) but on day 4 of this gel manicure, 3 of my nails are ruined! They are fast without compromising quality. They're also pricier than many nail salons ($18 for a mani), so I suppose you're paying for real estate In a prime location and somewhat more spacious accommodations. I went to Canterbury Nails last Tuesday, May 17th (my birthday!) and Tony did my gel manicure and pedicure.  he did a phenomenal job! He took his time and was very precise, did not rush through the massage. It has been 11 days so far and my nails still look just as they were when I left. I am particular when it comes to getting paint in the cuticles, and he didn't get any in them, so I was very pleased. I LOVE this nail salon! This is by far the cleanest I have seen - they even use tub liners. Super friendly! (Hey Danny!) And they always have a selection of the newest OPI colors. I typically love Canterbury nails and haven't had a bad experience until today. My girl cut three of my cuticles and one would not stop bleeding the whole time (for an hour) which showed how much she cut it. Her solution was to put it back in the bowl of used water which was disgusting. Plus my nail polish has bumps in it along with being bloody and painful one hour later. She was incredibly rude and didn't even put the blue stuff on it that is usually used to stop bleeding. She left immediately and didn't even help me check out or say bye. I chose Canterbury Nails as the place to bring a group of 5 girls to get our nails done during a bachelorette weekend. I called them on a Monday, and told them we would be coming in that Saturday. They said it would be no problem, and to just call an hour before we headed that way on Saturday. I was a little skeptical that they would really be prepared for us. However, when I called an hour ahead of the time we planned to be there, the person I talked to said they already had us down on the books, and they would be ready for us when we came in. Walking in, it WAS pretty crowded, but not in the pedicure area. I was shocked to see 20 pedicure chairs, and sure enough, there were 5 chairs already prepared for us. They had 5 people ready to do our pedi's, and we were in and out in 30 or so minutes, which is unheard of for 5 pedicures. One thing I will say was super nice is that they gave us complementary mini bottled water. Because we were in a little bit of a hurry, we were glad they were quick. However, if I had gone for a relaxing spa pedicure, I might have been a little disappointed at the speed they finished. I love a good loooong foot and calf rub when I get my pedicures...especially since I only get about 2 pedicures a year--it's always a special treat!Overall, this place is great for a group, and especially great if you're in a hurry!
