Such an incredible place. When you go in it's cool, sleek and elegant. The staff were so wonderful. Everything I could ask for! I have my birthday coming up on Wednesday and they were able to do me a spray tan that day which I was so grateful for! Initially I spoke to a beautiful lady at the desk, I can't remember her name but she was so welcoming and funny too! I believe it was Danielle who did my tan and she really helped me choose my colour and actually listened which was great. Sadly I missed the student discount which falls on my birthday this Wednesday but to be honest, for the £25 I paid for a full body spray it was worth it. So even and beautiful all over. I first went here for a facial & within a few days my face broke out, something I thought that was perhaps normal. I then booked an eye lash & eyebrow tint & to my horror the beautician died my eye brows black!!!, when I asked for a medium brown because my hair is light  blonde. I called & left a message describing how terrible my eyebrows looked & received no call back. I felt embarrassed to go out & had to more or less trim my eyebrows down to nothing. I have since found that my eyelashes are falling out. I would not recommend this place. Read Less

The best thing about the visit was to get a refund. Very unhappy with both pedicure and manicure. Blunt tools, dated equipment and techniques, all very rushed and very basic, poor choice of varnishes (used my own in the end), had to share a tiny room with another client who had her treatment done in the same time. Took pictures of the final manicure and pedicure when I got home- very untidy, uneven length of the nails and toe nails.. Refund for the manicure given. Will not be back and do not recommend if you have high standards and looking for a professional and modern mani/pedi. (They still use only manual files for the pedicure!) Read Less

A week ago Saturday I got married in York and we had the most superb day, I want to do it all over again! On the morning Suzi did my wedding day make up and I cannot thank her enough. We had a giggle and she made me feel so at ease. My makeup lasted me all day, even with heat, tears and lots of laughter the only part of my makeup I needed to touch up was my lipstick ... It was perfect and I received so many compliments. This is the place to go in York if you want to feel special.  I use this spa specifically for my brazilian waxing, which I have done once a month.  Because I spend so much time between the US and the UK, I always try to make a point to stop in here during my visits to have this monthly task done.  The reception staff are always very polite and have often made special attempts to get me in for an appointment on short notice.  One day, the girl who did my waxing even worked through her lunch break just so I could be seen that day!  If you are specifically looking for waxing services, ask for Sophie or Suzi - they are the best!The spa itself is well decorated, clean, and very nice inside.  You are offered a drink upon arrival and are guaranteed to receive the best in care and attention.  They offer an array of spa treatments - pretty much everything you can think of - even botox!I'm a huge fan and would recommend Face Etc to anyone in search of some extreme pampering.  I'll keep going back for sure!
