I attended the salon for an intimate wax with Elouise. She made me feel very welcome and comfortable, although I was slightly alarmed that she didn't wear gloves for the procedure, for both our sakes! The actual waxing was relatively painful but that's pretty normal. When she put some kind of cream on afterwards I imagined it would soothe the stinging but it really made it burn. I felt that she had been very thorough however as she seemed to be paying a lot of attention to detail and was using tweezers occasionally too. When I left the salon I was still experiencing a burning/stinging sensation but imagined that it would wear off pretty soon. Unfortunately it didn't and when I checked at home, my waxed skin was bright red and had a severely sunburned appearance. This wasn't due to the wax being too hot however. I also noticed that quite a few bits had been missed. By the evening it was exactly the same and I couldn't bear to wear anything touching the area. Any creams stung too much and only cold water running over the area helped. Over the next couple of days the skin eventually stopped stinging/burning and looking bright red but the skin had become rough feeling. Then the peeling started....it was exactly like after sunburn....and very unattractive! It went from "Don't touch me!" to "Don't look!". I don't know what went wrong as I've never experienced anything like that before. Perhaps she went over the same areas too many times. I would imagine it's simply a training issue that needs to be addressed asap as I certainly won't be returning and risking a repeat of that. Read Less
