Mint nails is one of the best salons I have ever had the pleasure of going to, merry hill is the one I prefer as it's near my home. I have also visited the Birmingham branch from time to time, both salons offer good customer service, really chatty and friendly, you don't feel intimidated at all. They really welcome you, all the staff are wonderful, I've had my nails done by nearly everyone at merry hill and all I can say there a great bunch of girls, they work very hard, they have been trained very well and there is a good mixture of personalities. Dreadful! I normally go to the Birmingham one which is great, the people are lovely and chatty and take their time with you. Merry Hill, you aren't even greeted with a smile! The lady just shouted 'NAME' at me and my friend and because we were early, my Lord did she make us aware of the inconvenience we had caused her by her then having to tell us to take a seat! When me and my friend were seen to, we were having a conversation as you do and one of us laughed, to this one of the other sour-faced technicians started glaring over at us and rolling her eyes and then started to talk about us, quite blatantly to the colleague! Technicians are c****, rushed work and gel is way too thick! One of my peeled off the next day! I have since found out the particularly rude lady part owns the Merry Hill and Birmingham salons...If you don't like people or being polite to people...don't run a business that relies upon you being a nice person! My experience at Dudley was so bad I went to Birmingham to have it fixed, and was greeted (rudely) again by the same manager. Now I know that she runs both places, I am not returning again to either salon because someone that rude doesn't deserve my money in their pocket! One of her competitors can have my money instead! I have been having my nails done at mint merry hill for five years now and they have always been perfect. The girls are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. I have them done every couple of weeks which means I have great nails all year round. I've tried other places in the past but would never go anywhere else now I have them done there. Visited in May 2016 having visited 4 times previously. Service had always been ok before but could not have been worse on this visit. Technician started to push cuticles back without softening which was very painful. Asked why had not been soaked as on previous visits. Technician was very rude and said could only be performed on full manicure which is not what had booked. Advised had always had this service previously and had purchased cuticle softener, on recommendation of Mint, on last visit. Technician accused me of lying so asked to check on till where the service i had received was visible. On finding out that i wasn't in fact lying she instructed another technician to soak cuticles and then walked off. Overall terrible customer service and will not be returning ever. AVOID!!! one star is not enough to explain how bad this nail salon is, my sister and i went here my sister booked gel nails and i was booked in for nail extensions. We were not greeted nicely as the lady did not even bother to crack a smile to greet us. My booking was for 3:30 and my sister's 3:00 we sat down and my sister went first. They soaked the old gel off her nails but the lady did not put the tinfoil on correctly and the foil kept falling off! they left the foil on for way to long as it is a 10 minute soak and she had it on her nails for a good 20 minutes. It was my turn for my nails and i sat down they asked my age and i replied with 14, the lady then looked to a co-worker and she said you have to be 16! i was not told about this when booking over the phone. I wish i had been told about this over the phone before committing to an appointment. I understand that this is their policy but they should tell you what it is before you book. My sister's appointment was not good either nor was mine we will not be going back and would not recommend this to any one! Read Less

Hmm I'm not quite sure how I should rate this little salon...I have gone out of here happy and I have gone out disappointed...it's more of a lucky pick which employee you get! All of the girls are friendly but there are big differences in their talent. The salon is nice and tidy and the products they use are good quality. The nail polish colour choice is amazing but all of this isn't enough if you leave unhappy! I really hope that their good service get's more constant. Read Less
