I'm really shocked to read the one star review as it appears almost word for word on another review site I use. I too have used this salon. Though not as a one off but for almost 17 years or so. I have always been treated with courtesy, friendly professional attitudes and cannot understand why a nail would break. I have broken nails in the past due to my own fault and at no point have I been turned away once I've contacted the salon - any of the staff have been happy to deal with the issue. Indeed I have often not had to pay for the repairs due to my neglect. It's such a shame to see such poor reviews without actually contacting the salon and I'm sure a face to face discussion would have resolved this matter instead of taking to social media and causing damage to one of the few independent salons in Cardiff. Very disappointed with both my nails and 20 year old daughters nails- we had tips and gelish on Monday 18 Dec as needed nails to last 3 weeks as we were going on huge family Christmas cruise- we flew out 20th, by Thursday one tip fell off my daughter, we were on holiday so not being treated harshly, so she had to visit a salon in Fort Lauderdale to get it fixed costing her $12 then by the following week we both had tips breaking off to the extent that we had to visit the nail salon on our cruise and both have the whole tips removed and new gelish put on at the cost of $76 each, we sent 2 emails and a message when we got home and had no response at all- very disappointed Read Less

I can't say enough nice things about this salon! I very luckily managed to book in a last minute appointment for myself and my best friend to have our nails done before her graduation and everything was lovely - the ladies are so welcoming and friendly, they really know their stuff when it comes to nails and just really chatty so made for a really good experience! My nail broke whilst out shopping (nothing to do with the quality of the service - just an accident) and I called up they fixed it straight away with no charge - then to make things even better, I received an email from Cath offering to redo them in acrylic to make them stronger - again free of charge! They fitted me in as a walk in yesterday. I'm going on holiday to Spain on Sunday and was beginning to worry. They couldn't do toes and hands together but I had a small wait in the Salon and had 2 different ladies do my nails. I must say I think it's the best my nails have looked ever,thank you sooooo much girls. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. What lovely people. I didn't know anyone by name. Found them to be very friendly and welcoming but felt the lady doing my feet wasn't really concentrating as chatting among her colleagues loads and my foot and leg massage consisted of rubbing cream into my toes while looking round chatting...also my time was cut short 10 mins prob because massage lasted 5 minutes and for me personally the massage is the best part of a pedicure...5 for friendliness, 3 for hygiene and 2 for value for money Read Less

Last Friday I made my first visit to Nailcraft. The night before I'd attempted to remove my acrylic nails with acetone but failed miserably. I'm not from Cardiff but was staying with friends for the weekend, with big plans for the rugby and no time to see my usual nail technician I ran around the city desperately trying to find someone who could make my hands look at least presentable & not something from a horror film. Having been turned away by several places, not far off c...losing time a lovely lady - I think her name was Sarah, made me feel totally welcome. She assured me she could remove what was left of the acrylic & then paint and shape my nails ready for the weekend - what a job she did! The end result was perfect and I am ever so grateful. She went above and beyond to help me. What should have been a straight forward job turned into a mammoth task & not once did she make me feel like an inconvenience. To work late on a Friday night is the last thing anyone wants to do and I honestly can't thank her enough, even more so after finding out that she had a gorgeous little girl to go home to. As well as fixing my nails, she cleaned, tidied around me, made appointment reminder phone calls & saved the broken nail of another girl in need. Superwoman!!! Don't let the somewhat misleading name fool you - Nailcraft offers a wide range of treatments besides nail services, including waxing, massage and facials. Nailcraft pride themselves on their "No MMA, No Drills, No Damage" policy, as many salons make acrylic nails using MMA (methyl methacrylate) , which may be a potentially harmful compound. This was news to me, and it's a tidbit of info I'll pass along to my girls. The prices are comparable with other beauty salons in town, but Nailcraft offers a wider range of nail services, including "Nails for Males" as well as an express manicure, where you're in and out of the salon in 15 minutes or less. I recently popped into Nailcraft after seeing that they wanted models to help them train new staff. They were able to fit me in the next day and I really enjoyed the experience. I had non acrylic tips fitted, which would normally have cost around £20, but it was free for the models. The whole process took about and hour. It was nice to be able to relax for an hour and let the rest of the world bustle past in the arcade. Plus I knew that next door at the New York Deli I was going to devour the most delicious bagel!
