This the first hairdresser I tried in Oxford as it was most reasonable on prices, since then (year) I regularly come back to get my hair cut here. They do an amazing job no matter who cuts your hair! They are very critical and offered consultation on the styling of my hair without any added costs. They’re also very accommodating on walk in as I haven’t really booked at all for my haircuts. Most recently, I have had my hair bleached and dyed grey here and they blew my mind!! They managed to achieve the most ideal colour with blends of blonde and grey intertwined. Both me and them were wowed together, I had to come back the next day to touch up a few things but other than that it’s been fantastic! Again, this was a walk in. I also paid half the price I was expecting to pay! Saleem did the hair colouring and most of my cuts. It’s a very friendly atmosphere with lovely staff! Definitely recommend this place! Read Less

I have been coming here for about 18 months. My hair is always cut by Salim who consistently does an excellent job. He has his own suggestions for what will best suit your hair and face etc, and I am always very happy. Would definitely recommend. Read Less

I found my appointment to Strand Salons very disappointing. To start with they had double-booked the appointment and turned up late, so two people were squeezed into half an appointment slot. My hair usually takes over an hour to wash, cut and dry, and this was rushed through in 30 mins (and still cost £35 with a discount). My hair wasn't washed properly, and I got water flicked all over me and my hair was pulled. During the cutting, my head was tugged in different directions and my head became a bit sore from the careless pulling. It was not cut to the right length, nor was it cut straight. During the appointment the hairdresser was very distracted and focussing more on conversations with others than on my hair. Hairspray was used on my hair and the end, but no spray to protect it from the heat of the straighteners. To top it off, the salon was quite messy and not a soothing environment. While the end haircut wasn't a complete disaster, the whole experience was rushed and stressful and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Read Less

I've enjoyed nothing but quality service and outcomes that last at a great price. I also adore the staff. I went to Strand to do my nails, it was perfect. My nails were done really well and the staff were very friendly, I am not sure why some people are negative about this place. I have come here several times for nails, threading, waxing, facial and hair colour and cut, it has always been perfect and a great experience.
