I had been going to Happy Nails for several years & always had a great experience (Selena or Jenny usually did my nails) . Now that new owners have taken over, not only did they raise their prices without telling me, always leave my nails too long (even though I've told them I'm a nurse & can't have them aby longer than end of my fingertip). The most recent time they did my nails(I get liquid gel b'cause it holds up even though I'm rough on them). One of my nails came off 4 days after getting them done, went in to have someone fix it, rold me they were too busy to come back in 1 hour. Now have a naul fungus that I have never had before. Been going to happy nails for a few years now, however yesterday was a disaster and the worst nail experience I’ve ever had. Now I typically only ever had Henry or Charlie do my nails but I decided to give someone else a shot. I was beyond disappointed. The first guy ruined my nails. My nails are all different sizes and lengths and most are beyond crooked. I kept telling him they were wrong and he just kept making them worse. After about 45 mins of the first guy butcherin...g my nails and making my fingers hurt, I finally asked for a new guy. This guy tried his hardest to fix my nails and make them how I wanted, but my nails are so thick and uneven it’s ridiculous. I asked for square flare. One side of my nail will be rounded off. The other will be square. None of my nails are the same length and some are skinny where as some are super flared. Might not come back or referring my friends anymore. This is crazy disappointing. There is new management at Happy Nails, and the techs are inexperienced! I have gone to Henry for several years; but the family has gone back to Vietnam now (so I've heard). No one there anymore that knows how to do nails. I tried them, but they lifted within a few days.. So sad... It was one of the better places to have nails and pedis done. I will not be returning. I have been coming to Happy Nails for years and it has always been a pleasant experience, until yesterday. I took my 10 year old daughter for a mani/pedi for a family beach wedding she is in this weekend. We asked if they could draw a little starfish on her ring fingers and after showing them a picture, the nail artist said yes. She literally drew a star on her fingers ☆. I asked her to re-do it and showed her a picture again. As she is trying, a yelling match broke out betwe...en two of the male workers and both left their stations to get in each other faces. The yelling and arguing continued for about 10 minutes with the one male storming in and out of the shop. His poor client sat in the chair with nails half done. She was still sitting there as we left, with no one apologizing to the clients or addressing her. We quickly left, even though we are still not happy with the nail art on my daughters nails AT ALL. It is messy and not professional looking, which is what she was excited about, all for $60. If it wasn't for the arguing and chaos, I would have asked for them to be re-done by another artist. I've been coming here for 3 years and now never again. This place has gone downhill and the staff are rude and treat you like your just some big inconvenience to them. There's no point in making an appointment because they won't take you on time or anywhere close to it. Not to mention the girl who did my nails took my previous polish off and didn't get it all, then proceeded to put acrylic over the left over polish! Who does that? I went in today with a gift card that my fiance purchased with cash on 12-23-15. Today was the day I was finally able to use it. I noticed before I arrived for my appointment that in small print on the bottom of the gift card it said "expires 1 year after purchase. No cash value or refund." Being quite familiar with the laws on gift cards, I went in and very calmly and respectfully asked to either use my gift card or be refunded the money. The woman I talked to was extremely rude and did not want to listen to a word I said. So I informed her that it is illegal to void a gift card without reporting it to the US Treasury for a refund. I tried to work it out with her for a few minutes before finally leaving. So now I will be following through with the law to pursue this. Read Less

Went to Happy nails with my sister in laws this week (7/9/17) they were very busy ans we didn't have an appointment, which seemed to set the tone. When the girl finally took me to get my nails done, I asked if they did the powder dip nails, which they are listed on the manufacturer's as providing that. She said they did do them, but not in the ombre color I wanted, which was fine. With this manicure you are not supposed to need artificial nails/tips put on. The girl was r...eally nasty to me, when I questioned again if they could do it because she kept insisted I pick out gel polish, even tho that wasn't what I wanted. Finally I picked a color and sat down and she got out clippers and began cutting my nails off (which they weren't long to begin with)....I asked her what she was doing and she insisted again that I needed tips.....I told her I didn't want tips, because I work a lot with my hands and need short nails. My sister in law who has had this manicure done yelled for her to stop and she got even more mad and nasty. I asked her to remove the nails she had glued on and she took out scissors to cut them off!!!! She cut the tip of my finger, and it hurt......I pulled away and told her that was not the nail that was my finger tip (of course it was, I didn't have any nails left!)......she soaked the rest of the tips off and I left. I will never go on there again. I also called 2 other salons in Hanover to check to see if what they said about me needed tips was accurate with the dip manicure and it was not, they simply wanted to upsell me or they didn't want to take the time to work with shorter nails.
