Booked a haircut here firstly for the quirky retro decor. The salon is amazing and everybody so friendly. Wasn't too sure what I wanted done as it was my first haircut in a year - and always a bit scary trying somewhere new! Loretta put me instantly at ease and seemed to know what I wanted even though I wasn't sure myself! I've ended up with a gorgeous style I love and am completely chuffed to bits with. I've been going here for a few years now. All I've ever had is a wet cut, usually when I've let my grow so out of shape it's a mess! Tina though makes an excellent job of restoring it. In fact it's one of the best haircuts I've ever had. Very reasonable prices. Comfortable friendly salon. Would definitely recommend. Read Less

Lipstick, Lashes and Locks is the definition of bang for your buck. I am a regular customer at lipstick lashes and locks and I have never left with a bad opinion of my hair or the service. Today I arrived with pictures of very blonde hair from my natural black hair. I was aware that this would be very difficult to achieve and was prepared to start a regimen. Somehow, with only 20 developer the amazing Loretta managed to fit my wanted colour to a t. She is truly a consummate professional and she values the integrity and health of the hair over everything. She also truly listens to you and takes in your personal head of hair, your style, your skin tone and eye colour and your visions for the future. My spirit animal is a 1950s pin up girl, and I have no shame in admitting that I am painfully particular when it comes to my hair. Firstly, I have a crazy asymmetrical hair cut that not many people know how to manage an maintain, and secondly, I know exactly how I like my hair done when I want pin up hair ( usually: MAKE IT BIG) So when it comes to choosing a salon to trust, I am, in all honesty, a bit if a snob. I've tried the big chains and I've tried a lot of the smaller places that look like they mean business too, but I have only found one place that I know I will never leave disappointed, and that's Lipstick Lashes and Locks.  The salon itself is just beside the meadows so it's easy to get to. It has a super cute retro interior, extremely friendly and helpful staff and it has a really great atmosphere (not to mention plenty of tea to enjoy when getting treatments!). They not only do hair cuts and pin ups, but they also do make up and nails too, so it really is a one stop shop if you're looking for a make over. Not looking for a vintage style? Not a problem! They're top notch hairdressers that can dye your hair any colour (PASTLE FUN!!) and pretty much tackle any kind of cut or style you can think of (trust me, I have given Tina some challenges!!) Oh! Not to mention they also do mens hair cuts too, and offer cut throat beard trims, so I am kinda hoping I will meet my future husband in there ;)The prices are incredibly affordable for the high level of services they offer, and they use top of the line products too - I love that they use and sell Besame Cosmetics which is neigh on impossible to buy in Scotland. Top tip: Be sure to keep your eye out for them at Lou Lou's Vintage Fair where you can get your hair and make up done at a snip of the price, and make sure you follow them on facebook for upcoming events. If you're a pin up gal like me, I'm sure you'll be super excited to hear that Cherry Dollface is coming to the salon to do hair and make up workshops and you can even do a professional pin up photo shoot with her.
