Great experience today at Ego - Louise did a great job colouring and cutting my hair. Very happy! This is my 5th year with Ego and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I would urge clients to tell their hairdresser if they are not happy or ask if they want a flipping cup of coffee. 9 times out of 10 if people have a problem it is because they have not made it clear about what they want. Delighted with my hair from Saturday! I went for a complete change, purple hair, shorter length and a side fringe. I had a rough idea of what I wanted but Nicola (I think that was her name sorry if I'm wrong! ) helped me decide on what would look best but didn't decide for me which was great. She listened to what was important to me and was really helpful! Absolutely love my colour now, so happy with how it turned out! I had a voucher for the Queen of Ego package which I would highly recommend as a gift for anyone as everything was covered Also I got absolutely soaked by the rain on the way there so I was given a towel straight away and they even tumble dried my jacket for me - much appreciated! Im delighted to have found this salon. I was normally getting homers done. However i have started going to ego hair design every week as im quite blonde and need regular treatments and toners. Beautiful salon with highly skilled staff who clearly keep up to date with the latest trends. I was very impressed with the full awards shelf including BHA Scottish Hairdresser of the Year cementing the fact that this is the place to be. The staff are all welcoming and Caroline who owns the salon is lovely... she didn't win Scottish hairdresser of the year for nothing... I have been going to Ego for many years now and have loved seeing all the changes over that time too. I find the stylists to be very encouraging if you want to try something new but will also make sure you know how to style it too and how long that might take! As with most high end salons in town it can be quite expensive, but there are so many offers on throughout the year that there are always opportunities to save. Best to ask at the desk - and follow them on here to see the latest offers - as it can be quite confusing what you can use when. The staff were nice and it's a very funky salon but really disappointed in my hair cut, stylist didn't even offer to trim my fringe and ask how I normally style it. The colour is precisely the kind of caramal/blonde that I said I didn't really want. It doesn't even really look much different which would be fine for some but I specifically said I wanted a change! The colour expert knew it wasn't very good when she saw it because she said "it may lighten when you wash it" They did offer to do it again if I went back within the first week. Clearly they don't have working partners and children because it was difficult enough to get one afternoon off to get my hair done never mind another afternoon off a week after!! But really, after paying that amount of £££ I expect it to be correct the first time round! No one even asked if I had done the skin test provided to check there was no reaction, they never even asked for the consent form to keep on file. Read Less

So so happy to find this place. Just moved to Inverness and of course, immediately went searching for a new salon to take care of my thick, wavy and coloured hair. (It's a big big deal - i haven't registered at a gp surgery yet!) I'm usually more picky about, and loyal to, my hair stylists than I am with men! Love comes and goes - but good hair takes true commitment! This was my first time appointment - I was booked for a cut and colour with Stacey and I'm very impressed wit...h her talents. Didn't take as long as it often does and yet now I've got beautifully varied tones of copper and coral plus my curls have been respected and are thus springily intact! Worst salon ever !! Dont go there. Have left my hair in a total mess after charging £165 for a cut and colour ! Carla , manageress is the most ignorant person u have ever come across totally unprofessional with an awful attitude would never go back. How now got a haiedresser who has managed to do an amazing job to fix the mess that ego made and were unable to resolve . Read Less
