Called here last week to book Shellac, booked the app then asked if I could check they had a certain shade I am looking for. The lady told me she was "too busy, call back later" then hung up on me. Shocked i left it a few hours and called back, she did exactly the same again. Yesterday I called again, same thing happened. So i called straight back and she picked up, I told her i'd like to cancel my appointment as I was so shocked by her attitude and she told me that it must of been an accident and did i want to book an appointment. I simply asked my request to cancel and she told me again she was "too busy", luckily she didnt hang up this time so I asked if i could speak to someone else. She took my number and told me Tom (?) would call me back. He never did, not all that shocked to be honest. Absolutely appalling behavior, I cant even cancel my appointment as she doesn't want to do that. I asked to speak to Hannah as I'm aware that her bosses name but she wont let me speak to her either. I live round the corner and thought this would be a perfect place to start getting my nails done, but i dont think i'll bother, plenty of other places ion Hertford luckily. Worst experience in a nail salon ever! I went in for a soak off of my shellac manicure. I asked the male technician not to use the machine to file off as I know this damages your natural nail and he just refused and started to argue with me saying it will take longer! I had agreed to pay £20 for soak off and manicure so it could take as long as needed!. He became very aggressive and picked up a nail file and started hacking at my nails which was incredibly painful and I could feel my nails burning. I asked him to be more gentle but he ignored me. The lady next to me looked on in shock and as she left she said I hope they are a bit kinder to your u on the next part! He then put the tiniest bit of cotton wool in acetone on my nail wrapped in foil and stormed off. A different technician did my manicure, Shé didn't even speak to me and didn't use cutical remover and the water to soak my nails was cold. She then painfully removed my cuticles and scrapped my nails. After painting my nails she took the money and just walked off. No one told me when my nails were dry I just got up and walked away. I wholeheartedly urge anyone to avoid this place as they are horrible! Read Less

Extremely rude.. I've been there before, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I called to book an appointment for something that I've had done there before, and the woman started arguing with me over the phone. It's a shame because the owner is really nice lady, she just hasn't employed well. Won't be going back. Read Less

I would not recommend going here. There are plenty of other nail bars in Hertford, from the moment we sat down we were grunted at continuously, not even sentences, please or thank you. Te staff were rude. My friends nail was not polished to the end and you could see the tip below mine as the colour I had chose the woman had to dilute loads to get to work. We also say them pouring from large bottles in to the opi on display. When the man returned to re paint the nail as part was missing he continuously muttered. This made us feel awkward and unwelcome. I thought I would treat myself so I arranged to have a full set of lashes with a beautician who would be coming to my home. Unfortunately she became ill & had to cancel last minute. Dissapointed, I rang around many beauty salons trying to get an appointment but unsurprisingly (given the time of year - Xmas) they were all fully booked. Then I thought I struck lucky with D&J nails, Hertford as they were available. Now, in hindsight, I can see why they were available at such short notice. I know essentially they are a nail bar. Fair enough. But they do offer a range of beauty treatments too. When I arrived on time for my appointment I was left waiting for almost half an hour. I was given no consultation (i.e. what length or type of lashes). Then I was taken to a room upstairs which was cold, dark and not appealing at all. The lady doing my lashes hardly spoke to me throughout & about half way through I heard running up the stairs (the whole room shook constantly) and a dog being locked in a room opposite. Howling & barking then pursued for the remainder of my appointment. Not a nice experience. The lashes were hard and uncomfortable and started falling out a few days later. I also had my upper lip waxed for the first time while I was there, it would of been good if they would of told me my skin would be so red afterwards as I then had to do some xmas shopping whilst trying to hide my top lip! lol I am now booked in to a salon at the end of the month & I hope it will be nothing like the last time.
