Absolutely disgusted and so disappointed that after 7 years of going to Ruby for my nails recommending my family and friends to her today I have discovered I have been blocked on Facebook after going to post a photo of my nails that I had done on Tuesday due to the fact I queried a price as I had infills and shellac done for £22 when I asked for an extra colour I was told it was an extra £4 on top of this for the extra work as I felt this was unfair so of course I said to Ruby she then just said a nail shop in woolston is cheaper if I didn’t like her prices of course I feel very disappointed that she turned around and said this after being such a loyal customer. I said that wasn’t my point I was just asking why it was even more on top but it was fine so continued to have my nails done and left afterwards on normal terms so of course am shocked to discover this today. I hope you see this post Ruby as you will no longer be getting any service from me or my family and we will be taking ourself elsewhere as you have no respect and clearly do not care about your customers at all. Have ruined my nails and i can not get them done for a good few months now due to them using the wrong drills on my nails and they are plan rude and do not care if they injure you Would not recommend Read Less

The nails turned out okay.. considering I always go to nails 2 nails but I have to admit their service is much better whereas in rubys the staff are so clueless and have no idea who they are serving, quite pathetic and had me waiting for ages and people who came later than me got theirs done straight away. Absolutely fantastic!!! Always friendly, very professional and give me exactly what I want and ask for. I only had coloring and art which was not nice done at all and looked like i painted them myself. i must say that the customer service is quite shit. I had a lady who was not entusiatic at all and seemed to be annoyed and impatient. The whole experience was very unpleasant and i would cetainly not recommend anyone for their poor customer service. CASH ONLY! This is not immediately obvious and they don't tell you. When you go to pay they aggressively demand your ID or phone whilst you go get cash out. When I refused (on the background of increased ID fraud etc.) They tried to physically block my exit from the shop to go get cash. I came here last week, only for a colour change, no file or touch ups. The lady who did my nails made me wait 40 minutes just to dry them. When in fact they were dry in 10. When I asked another staff member to clean up the sides where she had got nail polish on my skin on most of my fingers, she rushed and asked what the matter was and I told her that she didn't clean around my nails, she seemed rather annoyed. If you can't do a good job, then don't be a nail artist. She was ...always on her phone sat in front of me, did not bother to engage conversation whatsoever. The rest of the staff were talking in their language constantly, which was really rude, not once did I hear staff engage with other customers. Went here to get gel nails. The guy put acrylic nails on despite me saying to him and the manager I wanted gel nails. He filed my natural nails so thin they hurt! Then I asked for fairly short nails I just wanted them uniform. He then put the acrylic on asked me if I was happy with thr length and hacked them ridiculously short! I left with thick uneven wedges and a poor shape. I also told the manager I had acrylic on not gel and she told me 'he used gel powder'?!?! Gel is gel right??? So I overpaid. Do not go here! I am so happy with my nails done by Ruby's salon! My fave Xmas nails by far! Asked for red and glitter I love my gems :) She's always busy but it shows there's good business and loyal customers coming back :) I made sure to book in advance when I saw ruby post her Xmas hours as it meant I didn't have to wait. I was seen straight away which was amazing! If you don't book in advance and turn up a few days before Xmas then it's normal to wait. I can't wait to get my infills for my new year nails. They always do a lovely job and unlike other places when your nail breaks they will fix it without any hassle. Their designs are so much better than other places around town. Definitely one of the best nail salons in Southampton! They've done my nails for every special occasion perfectly!Read Less
