DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! Worst service ever! The guy who acually started doing my nails was good then he suddenly stopped and told me another guy will continue, I thought he had an appointment or something, turns out he wanted to sit on his phone! The other guy was extreme nightmare I had to take from him the tools several times to do my nails by myself! I actually told him that I wanted my other nails to look like the perfect nail on my pinkie and he started messing it up! If you don’t understand English please say so and don’t do the opposite of what I am telling you! Awful, awful, awful.... Booked an appointment but they made me wait 20 mins. They seem to say yes to everyone who walks in the door even when they are super busy. Got my acrylics done last year here with my friend and it was a great experience. My nails looked beautiful and lasted til the end of my holiday! No chips or anything so a very good quality. The man I had was experienced and listened to everything I asked for. Will be visiting very soon to get them done again. Shame they didn't have a matte top coat as that would probably be a highly requested option but I wasn't really disappointed at that. Read Less

Really disappointed with this salon today. I have been there many times since it first opened, bought vouchers for gifts before, they know me, I have my cuticle cutter logged there. My daughter’s boyfriend bought me a £30 voucher in November for my Christmas present. I had been saving it to use it as a treat and didn’t think to look at the date on it. I thought it would be valid for at least 3 month’s from Christmas. When I checked it was only valid until 31/12/16. I tho...ught I could just pop in and explain and they would extend it as they know me there. Instead the lady asked me to wait, then offered me half price of the voucher £15 which I refused. She reluctantly offered to do my nails there and then if I could wait. I couldn’t wait as my son was with me and had a job to go to. She refused to extend the date, was not very pleasant so I gave her the voucher back and left. £30 was paid in November for a Christmas present, would it really have hurt to have extended the voucher? The tips kept coming off when they were being filed, if smaller tips had been used in the first place they would not have need filing before an acrylic application. Once leaving the shop I noticed one hand was longer than the other, they had been filed square when I wanted curved edges, were wonky, and quite frankly they were embarrassing. It got to... the point that I was fed up of asking the girl to change them. So after spending £23 because I forgot my student ID, but had proof in other forms of ID, I had to spend an hour filing them myself when I got home. My nails are lifting on the edges and are way too thin and I only got them done on 28th February, 5 days ago. Now I cant have them natural like I wanted, I have to paint my nails to hide the lifting! Worst service ever! The girl started doing my nails and was trying to give me advice but i didn't understand what she was trying to say. Then the manager stormed over and started yelling at her in Chinese over me! His arm was pointing over my head and he was obviously telling her off for trying to advice me to get a different treatment - Even though it cost the same amount! Then i had to sit there and get my nails awkwardly done as she had already started when this all kicked off. During my treatment he was storming around the place and kicked my chair THREE times!! The girl was sniffing the whole time and was obviously upset. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. Then at the end i showed my student ID to get the correct price and she said how it was up to him. Then said something in Chinese to him and he ignored her and turned his head away. She told me she couldn't do the student price without him saying so. I ended up paying the full price which is even worse! And to top it all off two of my nails are rough and not shiny, therefore they don't match the other nails so i am going to have to go to another nail salon to get it fixed because i refuse to step foot into that place again. First gel nails lasted 7 days then peeled off. Went back to have them fixed & they tried to charge me full price to have them redone with awful attitude & unbelievable rudeness. The second attempt lasted 5 days. Congrats on being consistently awful - Thats quite an achievement. Read Less

Quite nice people. One of the men cut my finger with the buffer brush thing. Sign on the window said "£20" for students, did not mention any exclusions however I was told that I would have to pay full price because of the shape I got. Expensive shellac that hasn't even lasted a week. Two acrylics on my two broken nails, began chipping off 3 days into having them. They're wonky and far too thick. Unevenly applied shellac that is in lumps at the end of my nails. By the cuticle of my nails it's super thin and patchy. My second experience here and the first one was much the same... The acrylics the first time only lasted less than two weeks and the shape was awful, thought I'd give them another go but not again. I use this nail shop on a very regular basis since it opened and also have taken many friends there and they also have been loyal, but I have had an experience before whereby one of the people that work there cut me whilst doing a manicure and I bled, but I let it go because I always go there. However my experience today was really poor. The same person cut me again! But this time it was bleeding from the moment he cut the cuticle until the moment the shellac was done it was... literally bleeding non stop all the way through, they didn't offer a plaster or anything just spoke in their own language and I didn't get or he didn't tell me what he was putting on my finger to make it stop bleeding until I asked.. Although He tried to make it stop but it wouldn't. I had to leave and go buy plasters so that I could cover it, I went back in, it came to paying, my friend paid first then left. So the lady owner asked me for £25 I told her that my finger was bleeding and that it hurts. She then stated that it is because i bite my cuticles that's what I bled because it was dry! I told her firstly that I do not bite my cuticles and I wouldn't do that and that I go there on a regular basis for what reason then..? She said that it was a mistake and that it's because I go there a lot I should know that mistakes are made apparently. I explained to her it was the second time and that if it got infected this would be a problem. So she said she will give me £5 discount but I then said to her that I work in customer service and I would go above and beyond to make a customer happy if I had done something wrong and as a regular I was expecting more than £5 off for the stress of all of that. She then said that if I didn't want to pay that I was to leave and to not return and go find another salon. This was said in front of 4 other customers and it was disgusting and the people skills are so poor. As a regular customer I expected her to apologise at least and offer something to make the customer happy. But instead I get told not to return. Very upsetting and disappointing. Pretty Nails is the best salon I've been to in the area by far. I had a bad experience with my previous nail salon where my nails kept breaking off, even the day after I got them done. In one week 4 had broken and the salon made me feel like it was my fault not looking after them. I went to Pretty Nails after being charger for nail repair after nail repair, they sorted all my nails out, and I have no problems with nails breaking at all now! Usually when getting Shellac my nails chip within a week or two, I got my nails done 3 weeks ago and they are still going strong! Best Shellac manicure I've had and such friendly and welcoming staff. Will definitely be going back :) Read Less
